A conti fatti stiamo parlando di uno dei migliori GDR per Play Station 4 in cui il grado di sfida pressoché invariato rispetto al passato non deluderà i veterani della saga; i neofiti potranno tranquillamente approcciarsi per la prima volta a questo brand grazie alle innumerevoli accortezze da parte di CAPCOM nel rendere più agevole questo lungo viaggio in questo Nuovo Mondo. I miglioramenti e i perfezionamenti di questo nuovo capitolo di Monster Hunter sono tutto quello che serviva per svecchiare una serie nata quasi quindici anni fa, dall’innovazione, alla cura notevole nei dettagli tecnici di grafica e di design per non parlare della personalizzazione e praticità dei menù e non solo. Aggiungendo al tutto un enorme blocco di contenuti che verranno ulteriormente espansi in modo gratuito nel tempo, non potevamo non lodare questo gioco con un voto che rasenta l’eccellenza. Il mancato perfect score purtroppo non viene raggiunto a causa di sporadici errori di caricamento sui server online e una contenutistica leggermente inferiore al passato. Piccolezze se confrontate a tutto il lavoro fatto.

Under Night In-Birth EXE Late[st] est une version améliorée de celle sortie sur PS3 il y a quelques années. On y trouve toujours la même jouabilité addictive, facile à appréhender et complexe à maîtriser, bien que peu de nouveautés soient de la partie de ce côté là. Pour du neuf, il faudra se tourner vers les nouveaux personnages et une accessibilité accrue dans les modes d'entraînement, avec un tutoriel et un défi combo très travaillés. Le reste des modes de jeux est très classique mais efficace, et le jeu reste encore plutôt joli, même s'il commence à faire pâle figure face à la concurrence. Under Night In-Birth à donc dans sa besace de solides éléments pour convaincre les fanatiques de la baston, et encore plus s'ils étaient passé à côté du titre auparavant.

As a long time fan of the MH series, I’m pleasantly surprised with Monster Hunter: World. I assumed this game would be dumbed-down to oblivion, but I was wrong: Capcom pulled it off. It’s fluid, many mechanics are intuitive and it endeavors to explain the ones that aren’t. It takes the best of Monster Hunter and offers them in a way that entices newcomers without repulsing long-time fans. The only gripe I had were the lack of areas and amount of monsters — both of which will likely be remedied with confirmed DLC, making it a minor gripe about an otherwise excellent package. If you’re a fan of the series then World is a must-buy. And for everyone else? Pick it up anyway.

There’s something for every kind of hunter, whether looking to strategize or just go in with brute strength, in addition to those who like taking a break and exploring all there is in the new world. Monster Hunter: World marks the beginning of even greater things to come in the future. It re-imagined the series from a wider perspective, while keeping the core of what so many players new and old will continue to enjoy.

Le 65 ore passate a visitare ogni anfratto di Monster Hunter World ci hanno lasciati felici e affamati. Felici perché il gioco di Capcom è a tutti gli effetti il punto più alto di una serie già eccezionale, che con questo nuovo "punto zero" riesce a rielaborare efficacemente la propria formula, coniugando perfettamente tradizione e innovazione. Affamati perché, in tutta onestà, il gioco ci ha lasciato con una voglia irresistibile di continuare ad avventurarci tra le spire di un mondo avvolgente e ispiratissimo, forte di una cura maniacale per ogni dettaglio. Impossibile rinunciare alle sensazioni di puro godimento offerte dal raffinatissimo gameplay della produzione: complesso, sfaccettato e mai così accessibile. L'opera di snellimento di Capcom ha forgiato un prodotto bilanciato che non rinuncia a nessuno degli elementi chiave del suo retaggio hardcore, riuscendo comunque a dischiudere la propria nicchia al grande pubblico, ammesso che i giocatori sappiano dedicargli la giusta dedizione. C'è qualche asperità qua e là, ma nulla che infici realmente il valore di uno dei primi "must buy" di un 2018 che già promette faville.

Monster Hunter World segna la riapertura della “caccia grossa”, approdando finalmente su console di nuova generazione. Il nuovo capitolo della saga di Capcom è il capitolo più immediato e profondo dell’intera saga. Ogni giocatore su console intenzionato a cercare un’avventura che fa della cooperazione e del gameplay i propri punti di forza dovrebbe sicuramente acquistarlo senza battere ciglio.

It's not an easy game and takes dedication to master its many intricacies and mechanics, but even so, Monster Hunter World is the best entry point for newcomers, and veterans will no doubt appreciate the slew of quality of life improvements. It's a Monster Hunter game at heart.

Riassumendo, possiamo dire che Monster Hunter: World è riuscito a catturare pienamente lo spirito della serie, proiettandolo finalmente in un contesto moderno, sia sul fronte tecnologico, sia su quello del gameplay. Per i nuovi giocatori, e per quelli meno avvezzi a certe tortuosità decisamente nipponiche, la nuova fatica Capcom rappresenta il punto di partenza ideale per innamorarsi di questo brand. Per i veterani, invece, Monster Hunter: World potrebbe rappresentare una sfida più contenuta del solito che, però, ha il potenziale di crescere col passare dei mesi. In ogni caso, Monster Hunter: World garantisce almeno un centinaio di ore di gioco, che si cacci da soli o in compagnia, e questo è di per sé già un ottimo inizio sotto ogni punto di vista.

Le double pari est donc réussi pour Capcom qui propose avec Monster Hunter World un épisode aux mécaniques en partie retravaillées, doté de très solides arguments capables d’attirer aussi bien les chasseurs vétérans que les joueurs débutants. Cet opus du renouveau dispose de solides arguments pour vous convaincre : de vastes zones bourrées à ras-bord d'interactions, un casting de nouveaux monstres très convaincant, un mode multi à l’accès enfin intuitif, une jouabilité jouissive et sans faille et, pour couronner le tout, la promesse d’ajouts de contenus réguliers et gratuits de la part des développeurs. Cette vision sur le long terme permet de minimiser l’impact d’un bestiaire et d’environnements quelque peu limités au lancement du jeu. Monster Hunter World représente clairement l’avenir de la franchise, un avenir qui s'appréhende sous les meilleurs augures. Vous voilà prévenus, alors foncez et que la chasse commence !

Monster Hunter World è un gioco che richiede un certo impegno iniziale e la capacità di sopportare per un po’ di tempo quella che può sembrare una complessità eccessiva. C’è una possibilità molto concreta, però, che questi sforzi siano ripagati poi con enormi soddisfazioni, e che il gioco vi catturi senza lasciarvi più andare. Al netto di alcune discutibilissime scelte di interfaccia e di alcuni meccanismi un po’ legnosi, infatti, tutti gli altri elementi inizialmente complessi di Monster Hunter World diventano nel tempo meccanismi con cui vi ritroverete a vostro agio, e proverete un certo senso di appagamento ogni volta che sarete riusciti a dominare questo o quell’altro aspetto del gioco. Perché Monster Hunter World, alla fine, è esattamente come uno dei mostri che lo caratterizzano. Inizialmente spaventoso e apparentemente inaccessibile, diventa man mano sempre più malleabile, sempre più domabile. Graficamente non eccezionale, ma neanche brutto, ha dalla sua un monster design strepitoso. Se riuscite a entrarci, difficilmente lo mollerete e finirete col dedicargli probabilmente anche diverse centinaia di ore di gioco.

Monster Hunter ritorna su console casalinghe con un titolo che siamo sicuri farà la felicità di tutti i fan della saga e di tutti coloro che ne sono stati sempre affascinati, ma che a causa della natura portatile si sono sempre stati alla larga. Monster Hunter: World è un titolo che quindi consigliamo a tutti, sia a chi ha divorato i capitoli portatili che ai neofiti. Ci troviamo dinanzi un gioco maestoso e impressionante per quanto riguarda i contenuti (da segnalare che in Primavera arrivano anche i primi DLC gratuiti), e dotato di un gameplay solido, divertente e soddisfacente ma che crediamo possa ancora migliorare sotto certi aspetti. Proprio per questo la speranza è che Monster Hunter: World possa essere solo l’inizio per un futuro su home console della serie che si prospetta davvero promettente.

Monster Hunter: World has found a way to lower its barrier of entry for newcomers while still delivering an immersive experience that long-time fans of the series crave. The combat has a bit of a learning curve, and multiplayer could use a few tweaks, but no matter your experience level with the series, this will be time well spent for all hunters ready to pick up a sword, bowgun, or gunlance.

Porté par des ambitions techniques, des enjeux commerciaux énormes et la volonté de s'ouvrir, Monster Hunter: World est la transposition d'un savoir-faire ayant donné naissance à une communauté ne pouvant accueillir cet épisode qu'avec le sourire. Un grand si possible. Car la franchise n'a rien perdu de son esprit, encore moins de sa générosité, en changeant ses habits, lesquels lui permettent de rêver en grand et en plus beau. Toutefois, on notera qu'il y a matière à être déboussolé quand on n'est qu'un pauvre petit chasseur obligé de tout découvrir. Austère et complexe, Monster Hunter: World appartient à cette catégorie forçant à (se) questionner, à aller chercher l'information, à se tourner vers les autres. Et, par essence, les récompenses n'en sont que plus belles : elles ne s'arrêtent pas à une armure que l'on a longtemps désirée, mais touchent à l'accomplissement personnel.
