Vous l'aurez compris, Wolfenstein : The New Order est un coup de cœur à plusieurs niveaux. Un gameplay simple mais qui ne s'aventure pas vers des excentricités ; une ambiance militaire terrible mêlant technologie et totalitarisme ; et une richesse d'événements, décors et situations. Si cependant nous devons pointer quelques faiblesses, au-delà de l'effet "wahou" des ennemis, ces derniers sont relativement récurrents. Chaque ennemi ayant son talon d'Achille, vous prenez vite le réflexe de les esquiver avec les bonnes armes en évitant d'être submergé. Les quelques boss de niveaux relèvent quant à eux d'avantage le challenge. Autre point noir, et pas des moindres : l'excitation de visiter la base lunaire nazie retombe très vite. Le potentiel de ce niveau était énorme, laissant présager des combats à faible gravité : mais il n'en n'est rien, seule l'esthétique de l'endroit est séduisante, pour le reste c'est vite plié. Dommage, on aimerait presque voir un DLC dédié à cet environnement arriver prochainement...

As the good outweighs the bad, this is certainly worth a punt. Great story, enjoyable gameplay and the key element of fun are littered throughout the game, and are marred only slightly by a few niggling technical issues and rough-edged gameplay in places. A hugely enjoyable ride, just as single-handedly blasting through waves of über-Nazis should be.

Wolfenstein: The New Order è il titolo che ci aspettavamo, ossia un FPS vecchio stampo, duro, ben bilanciato ed ignorante quanto basta. Il tutto condito da una trama magari poco d'impatto ma funzionale ed in grado di tenerci incollati allo schermo per tutto il tempo necessario al completamento. Alcuni difetti su IA, checkpoint e audio (non corretti nonostante la patch da ben 5 GB) impediscono al titolo di raggiungere l'eccellenza ma, per il resto, abbiamo uno dei migliori titoli disponibili ad ora su PlayStation 4.

The New Order es violento, cafre y muy divertido, tal y como esperábamos de un Wolfenstein. Nos ha dolido la ausencia de muertos vivientes, pero los mechas perrunos son una gran incorporación al bestiario de la saga y es un placer ver cómo los boches se hacen papilla bajo el disparo de la escopeta. La jugada de dejar fuera cualquier atisbo de multijugador provocará bastante polémica, pero al menos se han currado a conciencia una Campaña sorprendentemente larga (de 15 a 20 horas), y dotada de suficientes alicientes como para volver a repetirla una vez superados los créditos finales. Tanto su historia como su ambientación (en algunos momentos recuerda bastante a Half-Life) dejan en ridículo a los últimos Call of Duty y Medal of Honor, aunque tampoco lo tenían muy difícil para lograrlo. Y ojo al precioso, y jugable, homenaje al Wolfenstein 3D de PC. No diremos cómo llegar a él. Sólo que cierto póster os dará una buena pista de dónde encontrarlo. Buscadlo, porque merece la pena.

Immaginiamo una storia videoludica alternativa, in cui Doom avesse continuato a vendere milioni di copie e l'entusiasmo per Call of Duty si fosse spento inesorabilmente. Wolfenstein: The New Order è come il figlio di quest'epoca solo immaginata, in cui gli sparatutto sono brutali, violenti, diretti, fatti di fucilate in faccia e non di headshot, e di scontri estenuanti in cui si consumano quintali di caricatori. Per molti, oggi, è facile sostenere che le meccaniche di gioco messe in piedi da MachineGames siano un po' datate, superate. Ma in verità, anche nella sua limpida esibizione di un massacro spesso “frontale”, The New Order diverte, risultando difficile e stimolante anche al netto di un'IA non proprio brillante.La vera forza del titolo sta in questo suo cercare costantemente soluzioni alternative: sequenze stealth, momenti solo ed esclusivamente narrativi, variazioni alla formula classica. La lunga avventura del nuovo Wolfenstein non ha quasi mai fasi di stanca, tempi morti, e si intreccia con una storia che sa far coesistere temi diversissimi. L'orrore della guerra e dell'etica nazista, l'esaltazione per un militarismo esplicito e vendicativo, ma anche i toni delicati e toccanti del racconto di resistenza, trovano spazio in un'avventura ben tenuta, la cui sola colpa è quella di avere un comparto tecnico già superato dalle avanguardie della Next-Gen. Resta un titolo da giocare, anche solo per ricordarsi che esistono altri modi di intendere gli sparatutto in prima persona.

The New Order è paradossalmente un Wolfenstein solo nel nome. Ok, il protagonista è quello giusto, abbiamo a che fare con un mondo dominato dai nazisti e il gameplay è fortemente sbilanciato verso le sparatorie con un ritmo forsennato. Ma c'è poco di quell'orrore cupo e di quel fascino, quasi trash, che abbiamo imparato a conoscere con il primo capolavoro di id Software e i suoi sequel/remake, spesso dimenticabili, che si sono susseguiti negli anni. E questo è un bene visto che in fin dei conti l'opera di MachineGames riesce comunque a ritagliarsi una sua personalità e soprattutto a risultare godibile e divertente fin dai primi minuti in cui si prende il pad (o il mouse) in mano. Non è un capolavoro e non lascerà un segno nell'olimpo dei videogiochi ma vi garantiamo che questo Wolfenstein: The New Order si lascia giocare che è un piacere.

El nuevo Wolfenstein es una invitación al optimismo de cara al futuro de la saga. Es un videojuego que dista de ser sobresaliente o de convertirse en un fenómeno de masas, pero entretiene y divierte. Si futuros episodios corrigen algunas de las flaquezas de The New Order y añaden un buen multijugador estaremos ante algo grande de veras. ¿Qué nos queda por ahora? Una muy divertida propuesta de acción alocada, histérica y salvaje.

Malgré ses petites lacunes, Wolfenstein : The New Order est un excellent FPS à tendance « old school » comme on les aime. Son univers et ses personnages totalement barrés donnent à ce titre une ambiance unique. Il est donc certain que vous passerez un excellent moment en compagnie de ce jeu.

Wolfenstein: The New Order non è il classico FPS di questa generazione. La mancanza di una modalità multigiocatore può sembrare qualcosa di inconcepibile al giorno d’oggi ma si tratta di una scelta voluta da parte di Machine Games e necessaria per focalizzare gli sforzi sulla realizzazione di un’esperienza in singolo particolareggiata. Con l’attenzione rivolta sul comparto narrativo, Wolfenstein riesce ad immergere il giocatore in una tetra ucronia dove la Germania nazista controlla il mondo e l’efferatezza dei suoi soldati non viene condannata, bensì giustificata. E tutto ciò prende ispirazione da un conflitto che nemmeno settant’anni fa ha segnato il corso della storia.

Wolfenstein is the perfect mindless shooter, and I totally mean that as a compliment. The New Order is classic first-person shooter action without without all of the complications that bog down many FPSes today. As a result, the fun factor is its strongest trait from beginning to end. Shooting Nazis, be they human or mechanical, never gets old and has never been so fun. Unfortunately, some of the game's charm may be lost on gamers who aren't familiar with the original release.

Wolfenstein : The New Order, c'est donc un FPS old-school pur jus bien efficace, qui s'offre quelques petites nuances et une ambiance s'appuyant sur des gros clichés parfaitement assumés et maîtrisés. Ça ne va pas changer votre vie ni révolutionner le jeu vidéo, mais vous passerez assurément 15 bonnes heures en sa compagnie, ce qui est plutôt pas mal pour un shooter purement solo.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is the melding of your typical, everyday shooter with quality writing and a cast of believable and relatable characters. Machinegames' more grounded treatment of the often way over-the-top alternate Nazi history is also a nice touch, and while The New Order is in no way, shape, or form a simulation of the real world, its 10-to-12 hour campaign can certainly make you stop and wonder more than, say, Raven's 2009's occult-centric Wolfenstein reboot. With an essential early-game choice that makes it worth playing through twice, the story at the center of Wolfenstein: The New Order props up its competent -- but mostly unremarkable -- shooting.

Wolfenstein: The New Order macht viele Dinge richtig: Es konzentriert sich mit einer umfangreichen Kampagne sowie cineastischen Videosequenzen bewusst auf das Einzelspieler-Erlebnis und verhilft dem Shooter der alten Schule zu einem kleinen Comeback – auch wenn das manuelle Aufsammeln gewaltig nervt. Es gibt einige Längen und öde Suchaufgaben, aber die abwechslungsreichen Schauplätze mit ihrem sehenswerten Art- und Gegnerdesign halten bei der Stange. Die Technik der id-Engine sorgt im Detail allerdings nicht für Begeisterung und ein übler Checkpunkte-Bug hat den Spielspaß merklich gedämpft. Schön ist, dass ich oft die Wahl zwischen dem Schleich- oder Actionweg habe und ich durch meine Vorgehensweise die Verbesserungen in eine Richtung lenken kann. Dazu gesellt sich die präzise Steuerung mit Deckungs-Mechanik sowie ein cooles Waffenarsenal, das allerdings mit dünnen Sounds ernüchtert. Überhaupt hat man die Ton-Abmischung trotz gut gewählter Sprecher und passendem Soundtrack ziemlich vergeigt. Auch die Story kann nicht überzeugen, denn die Inszenierung schwankt zu sehr zwischen Slapstick-Einlagen, billigem Trash und schonungsloser Darstellung. Mein größter Kritikpunkt ist aber die dämliche KI, die sich gerade bei einem unauffälligen Vorgehen zu viele Schnitzer leistet und kaum Gefahr ausstrahlt. Zudem fällt der Nahkampf zu mächtig, das Hantieren mit dem Schneidegerät dagegen zu fummelig aus. Man vermisst mehr Sorgfalt in der Produktion, eine klarere Linie in der Regie und Gegner über dem IQ einer Scheibe Brot. So feiert Blazkowicz nur ein durchschnittliches, aber immer noch unterhaltsames Comeback.
