The Amazing Spider-Man 2 è l'ennesimo titolo dedicato a Spider-Man che, nonostante le ottime idee di base, non riesce ad emergere dalla mediocrità a causa di una narrazione frammentaria e di un comparto tecnico impresentabile su PlayStation 4. Ad ogni modo, se siete fan del personaggio e/o se avete davvero adorato il film al cinema, non sottovalutate l'acquisto di questo titolo che potete trovare, al lancio, a 20 euro in meno (10 per le versioni Next Gen) rispetto ad un gioco standard.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not only a well above average movie licensed game, but a solid superhero game in its own right. The combat, while entirely unoriginal, is quite enjoyable and features a good sense of variety between its group encounters, stealth sequences, and boss fights. Web-slinging through the city is a blast and the inclusion of out-of-costume moments expands the game's focus to explore more of the character than crime fighting. The story is more often than not a disorganized mess and the presentation is very last gen, but the other aspects of the game mostly make up for these shortcomings. It's by no means a top tier open world game and can be completed in a very short amount of time, but great gameplay makes The Amazing Spider-Man 2 a solid package that's worth playing.

Sorte de copier-coller 2.0 de The Amazing Spider-Man, ce second volet se montre malheureusement un peu avare en nouveautés. Pire, les ajouts apportés ternissent parfois le tableau ou, au mieux, s'avèrent simplement inutiles. Néanmoins, en parallèle à ses nombreux défauts, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 parviendra encore à amuser l'amateur de l'homme-araignée, surtout si celui-ci ne cherche pas nécessairement de l'originalité tout en n'étant pas trop regardant sur la qualité technique. Au final, on aurait tout de même aimé que Activision vende le tout à un prix plus raisonnable car en l'état, fan ou non, on aura tôt fait d'attendre que le titre passe en occasion pour se jeter dessus.

Che Beenox abbia le capacità, anche creative, per sviluppare un tie-in solido e originale, ce l'ha dimostrato quattro anni fa. L'arrivo della saga cinematografica di The Amazing Spider-Man ha forse imposto una battuta d'arresto al team, che non ha potuto esprimersi al meglio per seguire i tempi di sviluppo della pellicola. La sorte toccata all'arrampicamuri, insomma, sembra la stessa dei Transformers: gli episodi più ispirati degli action robotici sono quelli svincolati dalle logiche di Hollywood. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 resta un gioco d'avventura solido: cercate di non prenderlo come un free-roaming, perché la povertà delle fasi sandbox e la tremenda omologazione delle missioni secondarie vi lascerebbe davvero delusi. Seguendo invece la trama principale si scopre un action con un sistema di combattimento buono ma non eccelso, una serie di stage indipendenti che per lo meno riescono a variare la progressione, e qualche boss fight pienamente riuscito. Solo per i fan, e a patto di non pretendere chissà quali prodezze a livello tecnico.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is yet another example of what happens when games are rushed out to coincide with a movie release date. It’s especially frustrating because the web swinging really is fun, but developer Beenox wasn’t able to keep the momentum going once you hit the ground. The next time there's an Amazing Spider-Man movie, hopefully combat can be brought up to snuff, since there's plenty of promise in the air.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 es un título deficiente en casi todas sus áreas, solo destacando la nueva mecánica de balanceo del protagonista. Lamentablemente Beenox no consigue mantener el mismo nivel ni en los combates, ni en el ritmo del juego, ni tampoco en los aspectos técnicos, conformando así una propuesta que podría haber sido mucho más de lo que es. Los largos tiempos de carga y los bugs aquí y allá son los últimos detalles que acabarán desalentando incluso a los fans acérrimos de nuestro querido Hombre Araña.

Che noia, che barba; che barba, che noia. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 è ancora meno “amazing!” del film con cui condivide il nome, ma non i contenuti. Fasi volanti tutto sommato piacevoli vengono letteralmente zavorrate da combattimenti appiedati appesi a un sistema di combattimento superficiale e ammorbati da una telecamera ballerina. Se la trama principale è leggerina e un po’ confusa, poi, le missioni secondarie sono pesantissime nella loro ansiogena monotonia. Considerazione personale: se si sceglie di seguire il trend open world alimentato dalle potenzialità delle console e dei PC moderni, si dovrebbe pure mettere in conto che da una grande potenza grafica derivano grandi responsabilità. Forse sarebbe anche ora che qualcuno se le prenda.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 è una delusione sotto tutti i punti di vista. Beenox aveva tra le mani una IP di indubbio spessore ma in questo caso non è stata sicuramente all’altezza, confezionando un titolo mediocre nelle meccaniche di gioco, tecnicamente arretrato e brevissimo. Il prodotto è un notevole passo indietro rispetto al capitolo precedente, vista la poca cura con cui tutti i principali aspetti del gioco sono stati trattati. Boss fight ben riuscite a parte, ci sono davvero poche motivazioni che potrebbero spingere qualche videogiocatore ad avventurarsi in questo titolo?

While a lot of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 fails to impress, there is a decent amount of potential to be had in this Beenox product. It is clear that Beenox is a talented developer, but being forced into developing a movie-game that has a predetermined release date is a near impossible situation for anyone. Here’s to hoping that brighter futures are in front of Beenox. If not, there will most certainly be a new Amazing Spider-Man heading our way in a few years.
