Con un desarrollo mayormente conservador House of Ashes mejora algunos de sus apartados como por ejemplo el narrativo, con un guion con menos lagunas y el gráfico que sigue evolucionando a medida que llegan nuevos juegos de la saga. Sin embargo, por lo demás, nos encontramos con un desarrollo jugable calcado a lo anterior y sin ni una sola novedad salvo el control manual de la cámara del juego. No obstante, vuelve estar a la altura en lo que a títulos de terror se refiere y sin duda es una más que recomendada comprar para los amantes del género que mejora aún mas si lo jugamos con amigos.

House of Ashes è un discreto passo avanti per una serie che richiede ancora tanti aggiustamenti per centrare l'obiettivo. Siamo contenti però che al netto di alcune mancanze e di una pulizia generale dei controlli che speriamo di notare al più presto, il terzo capitolo della Dark Pictures Anthology cresce al meglio narrativamente e nella scrittura di rapporti e dialoghi, ovvero gli aspetti più importanti di queste produzioni. Se ne avete abbastanza dei film interattivi non sarà certo capace di farvi cambiare idea; se però al contrario speravate di vedere un salto di qualità per la serie, House of Ashes è un discreto allungo. Aggiungeteci una bella manciata di citazioni horror e il gioco è fatto!

House of Ashes ne dénature pas la philosophie de Supermassive Games. Tout en conservant la mise en scène cinématographique de la saga The Dark Pictures, ce troisième épisode propose désormais une caméra à 360° et des QTE mieux intégrés. Grâce à son rythme maîtrisé, son atmosphère claustrophobique et son intrigue intéressante, il surpasse ses prédécesseurs malgré ses défauts (écriture inégale, personnages caricaturaux, phases de shoot figées…). Pour quiconque aime les expériences interactives du genre, cette dernière itération de l’anthologie mérite la curiosité.

House of Ashes presenta una storia migliore della precedente, più chiara e meglio focalizzata, con un intreccio tra personaggi più coeso e avvincente. Rimangono ancora i soliti difetti della saga. Inoltre, non bastano alcune migliorie apportate, che fanno fare al gioco un passo in avanti e uno indietro, come se non fosse ancora pronto per accoglierle pienamente. Chi è rimasto scottato da Little Hope o da Men of Medan avrà qualche buona sorpresa, ma all'antologia di Supermassive Games serve decisamente un forte scossone.

The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes certainly changes things up for the anthology, with a cliché over the top story and a new tone that returning fans may not enjoy. But the strong cast and some interesting choices help prod the adventure along, even as its awkward new camera and dated visuals try to get in the way.
