Darkest Dungeon is a grim and merciless tactical strategy game whose great tension comes from its many layers of complexity, unpredictable randomization, and willingness to put our fragile characters in mortal danger if we dare to venture into its depths in search of treasure and glory. Brilliant narration and stiff yet surprisingly expressive animation make it easy to be drawn into its vague but tantalizing world, though the end feels artificially out of reach.

Non seulement le jeu est long et riche, mais en plus il bénéficie d’une réalisation parfaitement maîtrisée. De vos premiers pas dans les ruines, jusqu’au plus sombre des donjons, vous serez scotché à votre écran. Un jeu qui tient toutes ses promesses et que les amateurs de jeux de rôle et de stratégie ne doivent manquer sous aucun prétexte !

Cattivo, spietato e dannatamente difficile, Darkest Dungeon è davvero il più oscuro dei sotterranei in cui vi capiterà di metter piede per un bel po'. Sicuramente un titolo non adatto a tutti, certamente sconsigliato a chi sviluppa empatia coi propri avatar o non ha intenzione di metter mano ad un sistema gestionale incredibilmente intricato e complesso, il lavoro di Red Hook Studios è la svolta che ci voleva nell'universo dei dungeon crawlers 2D, e probabilmente uno dei migliori progetti emersi finora dal carnaio di Kickstarter. Da approcciare con la giusta lucidità, e con la consapevolezza di perderla.

Darkest Dungeon gagne sur tous les fronts en proposant un gameplay exigeant mais addictif, parfait pour un jeu indépendant. Le tout est souligné par une direction artistique lugubre et une bande son du même acabit. Il sera certes un peu dur d'approche pour les joueurs les moins habitués, mais offrira un challenge des plus appréciables à ceux qui oseront relever les manches pour aller sauver ce brave petit village.

I giocatori meno avvezzi al genere potrebbero essere scoraggiati dalla difficoltà dell’opera, ma Darkest Dungeon resta una perla. Un gioco capace di donare, a chi è in grado di apprezzarlo, numerose emozioni: gioia e rabbia, terrore e stupore, soddisfazione e frustrazione. Il titolo grazie al suo solido gameplay, allo stile accattivante e alla grande immersività ha tutte le carte in regola per far breccia nel cuore dei giocatori e restare impresso nella memoria per molto tempo.

Darkest Dungeon conferma con la release finale quello che era sin dalla prima versione pubblicata in Accesso Anticipato: un buon gioco di ruolo roguelike, ricco di contenuti e con degli aspetti davvero originali. Insomma, gli appassionati del genere lo dovrebbero assolutamente provare. Ha qualche pecca, soprattutto nell'esplorazione, che diventa monotona abbastanza presto, ma se ci si lascia prendere è comunque un titolo capace di monopolizzare il vostro tempo per moltissime ore.

Darkest Dungeon is difficult, but not because its systems are unclear or unfair. In fact, the richness and complexity of its mechanics are miraculously transparent. What makes Darkest Dungeon challenging is balancing and equipping a party and the essentially unpredictable nature of the dungeons and combat. The art style -- hand-drawn and evocative, with just enough effective animation to keep things interesting without adding overwhelm to the already busy nature of the action -- is beautiful, and its music and stentorian narration are perfectly in sync with the characters. The whole enterprise is polished and a lot of fun.
