Company of Heroes 3 è un ritorno in grande stile per l'amatissima serie di Relic, che è riuscita nel compito di rinnovare la sua opera senza snaturarla, mantenendo le solide fondamenta del gameplay ma arricchendole con nuove dinamiche di gioco e con varie migliorie. La più grande innovazione (e quindi se vogliamo il rischio maggiore per gli sviluppatori) era legata alla campagna italiana con la sua modalità di gioco che mescola turni e tempo reale in modo non troppo dissimile da quanto avviene nei Total War, ma pur non offrendo la complessità strategica della saga di Creative Assembly (o di altre serie) quello di Relic è un esperimento più che riuscito, che regala ai fan un nuovo modo di giocare Company of Heroes, uno in cui è possibile scegliere con più libertà come gestire le proprie strategie e iniziative. Siamo solo a febbraio ma la sensazione è che gli altri videogiochi di strategia dovranno impegnarsi parecchio se vorranno misurarsi ad armi pari con l'opera realizzata da Relic.

Company of Heroes 3 is a triumphant return to the game that raised the bar for Real-Time Strategy. With unparalleled action on the battlefield, that alone makes it work your while. The new grand-strategy campaign is a welcome addition, though it has some flaws, ranging from performance issues and bugs to simply being too easy. Despite this, it's impossible not to recommend Company of Heroes 3 for the excellent game that it is.

Había ganas de un nuevo Company of Heroes y me alegra decir que este regreso ha estado a la altura de las expectativas. La intensidad y espectacularidad de las batallas que recrea este RTS están a un nivel que pocos juegos de estrategia alcanzan, pero es que además, se atreve con una novedad tan importante como un mapa estratégico que funciona francamente bien a la hora de crear un conflicto “vivo” en constante evolución. Los enemigos son a veces demasiado pasivos y no todas las misiones son tan emocionantes como las mejores de Company of Heroes, pero una vez entras en esta guerra total, por muy familiar que resulte su acción, te será difícil no salir de ella con una enorme sonrisa en tu cara.

Company of Heroes 3 è una produzione di certo solida, il cui percorso segue senza particolari deviazioni il tracciato lasciato dai suoi due predecessori. Ma non è un gran problema che il gameplay sia rimasto sostanzialmente inalterato, perché quella mistura tra strategia classica (in dose maggiore) e simulazione continua a funzionare, a proporre una sfiziosa profondità che mai sfocia nella complessità più rigorosa. La campagna dinamica è la novità più gradita, e per quanto non sia comparabile per ricchezza di opzioni ad altri congeneri o ai 4X, si tratta di un'introduzione da apprezzare in toto. Il gioco di Relic Entertainment, insomma, non sarà il più coraggioso degli RTS, ma offre un'esperienza di innegabile qualità.

Relic has taken everything that makes the first two games great and made sufficient additions to help Company of Heroes 3 succeed in this renaissance of RTS titles. While the visuals are improved and more detailed effects are there, the overall look still feels dated and the lacking performance hampers the experience. Having two campaigns is an awesome direction and while one is more streamlined than the other, the Italian Campaign revolutionizes the way to do a single player campaign for an RTS. The AI in skirmish is downright frustrating and the trouble with online multiplayer is unfortunate. What makes Company of Heroes 3 great is the growth within the actual gameplay and the subtle details experienced along the way.

Company of Heroes 3 offre tutto ciò che i precedenti capitoli avevano di buono, in una veste (perlomeno ludica) più moderna colma di svariate aggiunte e modifiche al gameplay. Molto interessante anche il “contrasto” fra le due campagne presenti. La prima, quella nordafricana, più lineare e proposta alla maniera tipica del genere. Mentre la seconda, quella italiana, rappresenta una novità per il genere, con un’efficace commistione con il mondo dei wargame. Il tutto sommato non eclatante upgrade grafico operato da Relic Entertainment rispetto al capitolo precedente (2013) finisce col rendere ancor meno giustificabili i problemi di ottimizzazione riscontrati, ma si tratta in fin dei conti di scivoloni risolvibilissimi tramite patch successive. Certo è che si tratta di un titolo irrinunciabile per gli amanti della serie e in generale degli rts. Non ci resta che attendere i contenuti futuri, con una prima espansione che dovrebbe essere rilasciata entro l’anno.

Le grand retour de Company of Heroes est réussi mais n'est pas aussi grandiose que ce que l'on avait espéré. La prometteuse campagne solo est en fait un pétard mouillé sans aucun challenge et globalement la partie graphique est un échec avec un jeu qui manque cruellement de définition. Heureusement la coopération et le multijoueur viennent faire oublier les défauts et on retrouve très vite le coté jouissif d'une bonne vieille bataille en temps réel.

Pour un studio comme Relic Entertainment, je m’attendais à une grosse claque comme beaucoup de la communauté, j’ai juste l’impression que tout le travail d’évolution a été fourni sur AOE4 et que COH3, on se contente du minimum... Hormis ça, le jeu est appréciable et jouable, la campagne dynamique va vous lasser à un moment donné, car elle est très lente et n’a aucune vraie interaction en réalité. Cependant les escarmouches, sont bien mises en place, et on sent que le jeu vous pousse encore et toujours à la maîtrise de vos unités, de vos mises à couvert et notamment avec la possibilité de destruction des bâtiments. Des extensions sont prévues, à voir ce que ça va donner, en espérant avoir 4 - 5 factions jouables de plus et l’ajout d’opérations.
