Difficile consigliare, e allo stesso tempo sconsigliare, l’acquisto di Panzer Dragoon Remake. Si tratta di un titolo certamente superato, indiscutibilmente venduto ad un prezzo sproporzionato rispetto alla longevità dell’avventura, eppure tremendamente affascinante e perfettamente in grado di divertire oggi come ieri. Mai come in questo caso a fare la differenza saranno i gusti personali di ognuno di voi. Se amate gli scenari che ricordano i film di fantascienza degli Anni ’80 e ’90, se siete fan della saga di Star Fox, se non vedete l’ora di mettere le mani sull’ennesima produzione atipica, se ricordate con nostalgia i pomeriggi passati in compagnia del Saturn, allora non dovrete far altro che dare una chance alla produzione SEGA. Sarete spettatori e protagonisti di un’avventura che vi ammalierà e conquisterà sin dalla cut-scene con cui il gioco vi accoglierà. In caso contrario, valutate attentamente l’acquisto. Parliamo pur sempre di un gioco che ha fatto la storia del medium, ma che potrebbe deludervi, non fosse altro per la contenutissima durata dell’epopea.

Se trata de un remake realmente pobre que no cumple bien sus objetivos. Hacer algo con tan poca alma hace que el original no cobre una dimensión que incluso se le negó en su momento. Hace que siga quedando relegado. Una verdadera lástima porque, incluso en su estado, y con unos controles un poquito duros, sea todavía diverido.

Seppur con limiti evidenti, dovuti in primis ai mezzi modesti di una produzione tutt'altro che AAA, Panzer Dragoon: Remake è una riedizione che farà comunque felici i fan di un'indimenticabile icona SEGA: un franchise prestigioso, troppo spesso trascurato dalla stessa Grande S, torna finalmente a solcare i cieli di un universo ammaliante, in un volo che tuttavia sembra forse rivolto più all'indietro che in avanti. Difficile in effetti pensare a un'adeguata collocazione per Panzer Dragoon: Remake presso un pubblico di nuovi appassionati: il prezzo oggettivamente troppo alto e il game design all'avanguardia (per gli standard del 1995 però, con canoni che oggi denotano una semplicità e una linearità innegabili) potrebbero raffreddare chiunque stenti a comprendere il valore culturale di un'opera che ha indiscutibilmente fatto la storia, ma che oggi fatica a non mostrare il peso dei suoi anni. Da scoprire e riscoprire, con dovuta cautela e spirito da archeologi del videogioco.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake is a cool window back to a neat little corner of video game history. With modernized graphics acting as rose-tinted glasses to make it more visually pleasing than the 1995 original, this is a neat little arcade shooter that keeps things exciting for an hour or two. It’s just enough to make me wish that the developers had gone a little farther and built this remake up with more levels or, maybe, gambled on a fully modernized take on the original’s simple concept.

Lanciare a 25 euro un remake del solo primo gioco, con questi valori produttivi da titolo di serie C, è stato un azzardo. I nostalgici dell'epopea Saturn magari vorranno farci un giro, ma Panzer Dragoon Orta, su Xbox (che peraltro includeva anche il primo Panzer Dragoon), aveva tutto un altro senso.

Panzer Dragoon Remake est une chouette refonte d’un monument de la Sega Saturn qui a bien failli disparaître à tout jamais du paysage vidéoludique. Néanmoins, qu’on se le dise, certains bons souvenirs feraient peut-être mieux de rester à cette place de choix. En effet, bien que l’on ne s’ennuie guère sur ce portage amélioré, force est de reconnaître que son concept a pris un petit coup de vieux, mais surtout que sa durée de vie n’excédant pas l’heure de jeu fait un peu mal au cœur et au portefeuille. À réserver aux amoureux du rétro qui désirent découvrir ce monument de la Saturn sans pâtir des contrôles dépassés de l’original.
