The Precinct è una lettera d’amore ai polizieschi degli anni ’80, confezionata con cura e un pizzico di nostalgia. Non reinventa il genere e non prova a competere con i titani del mondo open world, ma trova la sua identità in un equilibrio ben costruito tra azione, atmosfera e libertà. Se avete sempre sognato di vestire la divisa e pattugliare le strade di una città corrotta con solo una radio e un paio di manette, questo gioco potrebbe regalarvi esattamente quell’esperienza. Imperfetto, ma dannatamente stiloso.

The Precinct ne sera malheureusement pas la pépite surprise attendue, loin de là même. Si certains apprécieront sans nul doute l’hommage aux anciens GTA, mais en étant de l’autre côté de la barrière et les mécaniques liées à cela, les limites du jeu en termes de narration, de répétitivité et d'approximations de gameplay trahissent les ambitions. Au final, malgré une proposition de base intéressante, le jeu est vite rattrapé par tous ces défauts trop importants qui ne permettent pas d’avoir l’expérience « fun » promise par le studio;

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade can be fun for a bit, but with repetitive levels that lack a significant challenge for most of the three campaigns, it doesn’t stay that way for long. Though its quick and basic combat is solid, the potential of its diverse weapon selection to bring variety and nuance to battle is undermined by how easy so much of it is without really investing in them at all. Not to mention you’ll see all there is to see, enemy and level-wise, by the end of the first chapter of the first character you choose. And when its stories fail to do much more than provide a flimsy bridge to the next group of baddies to kill, you might be convinced pretty quickly to let sleeping legends lie.

While it doesn't necessarily break new ground compared to its genre contemporaries, Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a well-crafted action roguelite that wholeheartedly embraces its strengths. Alongside an exceptional combat flow and meaningful weapon customization, evocative character arcs shine with memorable individuality. Even if the title's greatest avenues of potential, namely the boss variety, aren't reached, this is still a worthwhile triple adventure for action enthusiasts.

DOOM: The Dark Ages masterfully blends brutal combat, fluid exploration, and rich visuals with fresh mechanics and smooth FPS gameplay. Though its storytelling may not resonate with everyone, it's a thrilling, modern evolution of the franchise's.

C'è tanto da fare e scoprire nei nuovi mondi alieni tra esplorazione scanzonata, attività legate all'avamposto e al personaggio, missioni principali/secondarie e sfide. Ci sono alcuni difetti, ma anche una sfilza di miglioramenti alla formula del primo capitolo, da cui eredita l'identità e le fondamenta del gameplay oltre all'atmosfera; Revenge of the Savage Planet ne espande e arricchisce ogni elemento senza risparmiarsi, a costo di mettere un sacco di carne al fuoco non tutta di prima scelta ma consapevole che, in virtù di una simpatia travolgente, qualcosa gli si può perdonare. A tutto ciò ci aggiunge il plot twist rappresentato dal coraggioso cambio di prospettiva che, col senno del poi, è facile capire quanto aiuti a godersi le sfumature dell'esperienza imbastita da Raccoon Logic. Che rimane irriverente, satirica nella sua narrazione, ora grottesca e ora scanzonata, sempre ai limiti del cartoon anche quando, osservando meglio, sembrano intravedersi lineamenti ben più seri oltre la coloratissima maschera di ingenuità.

Much like its lead character, Death end re;Quest: Code Z commits a few missteps. From near-obliged grinding to stinginess with a key resource, you will encounter frustration nearly as often as witnessing one of the franchise’s Death Ends. Players with limited patience might be better off revisiting the previous two entries.

DOOM: The Dark Ages è un gioco che, pur restando solido e affascinante, non riesce a replicare la potenza innovativa del suo predecessore. È un capitolo che cerca di dare una nuova rilettura alla saga, ma lo fa in modo troppo conservativo, senza riuscire a mantenere quel senso di freschezza che aveva caratterizzato la brillante direzione intrapresa da DOOM Eternal. Se da un lato la lentezza ponderata degli scontri e la complessità delle ambientazioni hanno un loro fascino, dall’altro la mancanza di quella spinta dinamica lascia un retrogusto amaro. Per i fan più affezionati, è comunque un’esperienza meritevole di essere vissuta, ma che non rappresenta l’apice della saga.

Con Doom: The Dark Ages, id Software torna alle origini del Doom Slayer con una ricetta ludica a cavallo fra passato e futuro, che riprende alcuni dei lineamenti classici del franchise e li rielabora in accordo con i caratteri della nuova ambientazione, cercando di massimizzare l'intensità degli scontri e la profondità del gameplay. Gran parte degli innesti e delle revisioni funziona alla stragrande, e si fa matrice di un nucleo ludico quantomai appagante e sfaccettato. I passaggi che si allontanano in maniera più netta da questo cuore pulsante sono anche quelli più dissonanti, ma la media qualitativa dell'esperienza si attesta comunque su livelli elevatissimi. Sì, forse The Dark Ages è un prodotto meno organico del precedente Eternal, ma ci risulta impossibile svincolarlo dalla soglia dell'eccellenza.

I’ve let out a lot of rage playing DOOM: The Dark Ages. It’s cathartic in the most bloodthirsty way, and I can’t stress how nice it has been to just simply switch off my brain and get stuck into a bunch of demons. It scratches the same itch I have when I’m watching a particularly energetic ice hockey match, where the biff gets real and the atmosphere is so electric that it gets your blood pumping hard enough to hear it in your ears. The game may not be perfect, but it is a really meaty fiesta of fighting. Tearing demons asunder will never not be cool as hell, and for that reason alone, I can easily see myself coming back to DOOM: The Dark Ages time and time again – especially after a particularly stressful week.
