Fate/Samurai Remnant assemble des composantes fonctionnant ailleurs, tout en y ajoutant sa touche maison, pour nous proposer une expérience robuste sur la majorité de ce qu’il entreprend et dans laquelle on se régale à chaque instant. Le panel de personnages éclectiques nous séduit, et nous transporte dans un univers inspiré et épique avec un gameplay ravageur. On n’a que peu de reproches au final en dehors du rythme impacté par une couche scénaristique imposante, si ce n’est l’absence de localisation dans notre langue qui est assurément un frein pour beaucoup, d’autant que la plume vaut le détour. Fate/Samurai Remnant mérite sincèrement le coup d’œil et qu’on s’y plonge grâce des arguments forts.

De trailer van Mythforce had ons veel zin gegeven om de game te spelen, maar eenmaal in onze handen hadden we het eigenlijk anders voorgesteld. Het online gedeelte is onstabiel en verder is het eigenlijk zeer eentonig qua gameplay en wordt het al snel saai. Er is wat afwisseling in vijanden, maar de verschillende types komen steeds terug. Los hiervan vinden we de balans iets te wispelturig om er volledig van te kunnen genieten, zelfs op de makkelijkste moeilijkheidsgraad.

NIS didn’t want to completely remove Disgaea 6’s Demonic Intelligence system, but here auto-battling’s role has been significantly reduced. Now, you’ll have to spend a resource known as poltergas when attempting to level up your party members. Additionally, D7 provides a bit more player control when programming the actions of your team- prioritizing ally units that most need healing or attacking weaker to reduce the number of incoming attacks. And while pre-launch online community is rather modest, the ability to build a custom team, program the behavior of each member, and fight asynchronous opponents offers some intriguing possibilities. Let’s hope the developers are quick to quash any potential cheating, as that could undermine things. One of Disgaea’s biggest draws is the sense of freedom. Feel like breaking the system to forge a stress-free path through the 30-hour main campaign? Simply loiter in the item world for a few hours to create god-level gear. Looking for a challenge? Beyond managing a rag-tag team of scrappy Prinnies, there’s always the possibility of building a single celestial hostess to scrap toward the generous post-game content. Given that there are now 45 different classes to pick from (the new maiko distracts male characters), there are a multitude of different ways to help Hinomoto. Mostly, you’ll have to do the work on your own this time, which is how Disgaea should be.

FC 24 is a great step forward in terms of all the added details especially for the players expression. The stadium, players and overall look and feel of the game looks fantastic and truly utilizes the power of next-gen systems. The game focuses more on Ultimate Team as compared to other game modes, however UT will receive more regular updates and events. The mechanics also have been reshaped to bring a more realistic feel as compared to previous releases.

Décrire EA Sports FC 24 comme un FIFA 23 avec quelques ajouts bienvenus est un raccourci qui n’est pas loin de la vérité. Si lors du premier lancement, nous nous disions que nous aurions affaire à un renouvellement poussé de la franchise la plus vendue de l’histoire des jeux de sport avec des menus totalement retravaillés, une fois dans un match le constat est tout autre avec un fonctionnement très proche de son prédécesseur. La nouvelle version de l’Hypermotion apporte un réalisme un peu plus poussé mais le gameplay ne change pas plus que ça avec des passes en profondeur toujours dévastatrices. Si FUT a eu droit à l’ajout des cartes féminines, aucun nouveau mode de jeu n’est à se mettre sous la dent et c’est bien dommageable. Espérons que cet EA Sports FC 24 soit un épisode de transition avant un prochain opus qui apportera du sang neuf à une franchise qui commence à faire grincer des dents certains fans.

Cocoon is a clever and original world-stacking puzzler with complex mechanics that are kept in check by limiting how players arrange and explore worlds. While it's possible to stumble upon solutions through a confusing haze, the game's few moments of brilliance make it worth checking out.

Cocoon demuestra que Limbo e Inside no fueron casualidad. Es un videojuego diseñado de manera fantástica y minimalista. La jugabilidad sabe explicar quién eres y por qué, y no usa ni un solo tutorial. Su flow es embriagador e hipnótico, y su idea de saltar de mundo en mundo es fabulosa. A eso le sumas uns puzzles muy bien diseñados y tienes ante ti un juegazo que no te puedes perder.

Fate/Samurai Remnant è una sorpresa molto gradita nel panorama degli action RPG. Nonostante un sistema basato nelle sue meccaniche base e nel level design su quello dei musou, il gioco riesce a essere molto vario e articolato in ogni aspetto, soprattutto nel suo combat system. Le tecniche utilizzabili sono davvero tante e inoltre sarà possibile variare personaggi molto spesso, così da non annoiarsi mai. Ci saranno poi tante altre meccaniche interessanti, come le battaglie per le fonti di energia, i mini-giochi e molto altro. A rendere apprezzabilissimo questo gioco è però soprattutto la storia, davvero ben narrata in quasi ogni suo punto e con un cast di personaggi ben caratterizzati. Insomma, se l'intento era quello di realizzare un videogioco che fosse imperdibile per i fan di Fate, lo scopo è stato raggiunto.

COCOON è la dimostrazione di come l'eleganza passi sempre dalla semplicità e da una chiara idea di ciò che si è. COCOON non è un'avventura dalla forte trazione narrativa; non vuole mettere al centro del gameplay dinamiche violente; non spinge il giocatore a lambiccarsi il cervello per ore su enigmi apparentemente irrisolvibili. COCOON è un'opera che si riduce all'osso e, per questo, vince; è una danza elegante tra mondi, capace di non risultare mai stucchevole; è un'esperienza che mette al centro la capacità puramente animale di analizzare l'ambiente e ciò che si ha a disposizione per trovare una soluzione efficiente in qualsiasi situazione. È un'opera che risulterebbe gradita a Donna Haraway, filosofa che predica il con-divenire dell'uomo con altre specie come unico modo per salvare il nostro mondo morente. L'umanoide-maggiolino di COCOON è l'eroe dei nostri tempi difficili, ed è protagonista di uno dei videogiochi più brillanti di questo ricco 2023.

Lo scorso anno avevamo dato a FIFA 23 ogni possibile alibi, del resto si trattava di un capitolo di transizione che anticipava un importante rebranding, ma il fatto che anche a seguito dell'inaugurazione di un nuovo ciclo EA Sports non abbia trovato le energie sufficienti per proporre qualcosa di realmente inedito espone adesso lo studio canadese a non avere proprio più scuse. EA Sports FC 24 rimane comunque il miglior videogioco di calcio in circolazione, la quantità di contenuti è ineguagliata e anni luce avanti a quella offerta da qualunque concorrente, mentre lo studio è riuscito in definitiva a schierare quell'agglomerato di piccole novità che giustificano a l'acquisto della nuova edizione. Troppo, davvero troppo poco, per un'occasione così importante.

What EA has done with its relaunched soccer title is define the series going forward. EA SPORTS FC 24 shows off what sports games are capable of on the field by creating unique circumstances boiled down to an individualistic experience while adding even more stadium and broadcast atmosphere for a series that needed a change. The tech has always been there for this series, and this year what has been added has all been put together to create one of the best sports games in recent times. The gameplay is satisfying and it doesn’t get redundant. There are a good bit of modes to dive into, but besides more in-depth improvements to each mode, no major modes have been added. The current state of playing online is frustrating, and hopefully this can get resolved. From a gameplay perspective, the only improvement needs to come from controller vibration feedback being made on contact. I feel like the DualSense is being underutilized here and while I understand it’s not American football, some of these collisions deserve more than just a vague and light rumble.
