Sea of Stars a tout de l'excellent hommage aux plus grands noms du jeu de rôle japonais des années 90. Une histoire bien rythmée, un casting de personnages auquel on s'attache vite pour leurs personnalités assumées. Il arrive à faire le même travail d'émerveillement que ses modèles, grâce à sa direction artistique à couper le souffle et sa bande-originale parfaite pour l'aventure. Si les combats sont engageants et poussent le joueur à réfléchir à chaque affrontement, ils tendent à allonger la bonne dynamique du titre. C'est surtout par le manque d'évolution de gameplay pour les personnages que les joueurs pourront trouver une certaine lassitude. Si Sea of Stars n'est donc pas autant révolutionnaire que ses maîtres spirituels en leur époque, il devrait tout de même avoir une place de choix sur une étagère de votre ludothèque en 2023. Il risque bien de s'imposer comme le jeu indépendant de l'année si Silksong reste discret voire prétendre à des prix à la concurrence bien plus féroce. Plus qu'une belle performance pour un ovni venu des années 90.

Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case es una aventura gráfica que nos reta a ponernos en la piel del famoso detective para resolver un nuevo crimen. Una valiosa obra de arte ha sido robada y nuestra tarea será la de resolver el misterio, haciendo uso de la investigación a través de mecánicas deductivas y una dificultad no demasiado compleja. Cuenta con toda la ambientación de las novelas creadas por Agatha Christie, devolviéndonos a las raíces de la novela negra.

Admitámoslo: nos encanta vivir grandes historias y sentirnos parte de ellas. Aunque no es lo principal en un videojuego, una buena trama siempre atrapará al jugador durante muchas horas de juego. Y este Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The London Case logra dicho propósito, proponiéndonos una trama apasionante y bien escrita, con multitud de giros muy bien planteados y nada tramposos, un ritmo envidiable, unos diálogos brillantes y unos personajes que desbordan carisma.

Goodbye Volcano High is a terrifically-crafted slice of high school drama that succeeds thanks to the strength of its lovable cast of characters, amazing music and a sweet story about perseverance in the face of uncertainty, be it the possibility of your best friends moving on or the possible end of the world. It's one to recommend, and while it may not be this year's greatest visual novel (if only because the genre has a lot of heavy hitters this year), it is one that does indeed cap off the summer gaming season with a bang.

Goodbye Volcano High è una storia di affermazione personale, amicizia e amore e di come tutte queste cose, già grandi se prese singolarmente, diventino dei colossi quando si mischiano assieme. Nonostante la premessa iniziale dell’ambientazione possa sembrare bizzarra, la qualità della scrittura e delle interpretazioni dei doppiatori (Lachlan Watson nel ruolo di Fang su tutti) annullano qualsiasi distanza tra il giocatore e i personaggi fin dalle primissime battute. Aiutata da meccaniche di gioco molto intelligenti, la storia progredisce con forza affermando l’identità dei suoi protagonisti pur permettendo al giocatore di metterci il proprio zampino, mentre la colonna sonora (che è finita dritta dritta tra i miei preferiti in loop) è ben più di un accompagnamento: è una co-protagonista, che racchiude in sé ansie, paure e sogni di questa sgangherata combriccola di amici, alle prese nientemeno che con l’apocalisse.

Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go segna il debutto della serie rhythm targata SEGA sui dispositivi iOS con un episodio colorato, divertente e sostanzialmente simile a Party Central, uscito in contemporanea su Nintendo Switch: la tracklist è la stessa (qui leggermente più ricca), l'interfaccia e gli asset grafici anche, ma è stato tolto il multiplayer e cambia ovviamente l'approccio al gameplay, vista la mancanza delle maracas e dei controller fisici, sostituiti in questo caso dal semplice tocco del touch screen. In ogni caso, un'esperienza piacevole per gli abbonati ad Apple Arcade.
