Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon can be hard to love, especially if you’re coming off of FromSoftware’s slow but inevitable march toward more approachable design philosophies. This is a game not entirely divorced from its studio’s recent context but is unwavering in its sortie to be holistically true to the core themes, mechanics, and nature of the Armored Core franchise. It is not unkind in its brutality, often giving you an overwhelming set of tools to achieve any given goal but neither is it all that concerned with ensuring you keep up with its cold, detached world. Rubicon will in turn make you cold to its violence, revelling in refined mechanics and considered systems that remove you from your actions until the game is ready to bring all of that weight to bear with gravity, mass, and fire-red blood.

Mediterranea Inferno è un'opera riuscita e dalla grande forza espressiva, in cui ci si lascia andare con piacere, seguendo le vicende dei tre personaggi principali. C'è attualità, c'è politica, c'è visione dell'arte, c'è psicologia. Insomma, a suo modo è un bell'affresco. Peccato per qualche dialogo un po' troppo didascalico, dettato da una certa ansia espositiva, che stride un po' con tutto il resto, tanto che a volte fa venire voglia di guardare le sole immagini, senza leggere niente. Ci sono anche dei piccoli problemi tecnici, comunque secondari. Provatelo.

Blasphemous 2 è il gioco che i fan del primo capitolo desideravano. È Blasphemous fino al midollo, ma è ancora più bello da vedere con il suo immaginario macabro, più vario nel sistema di combattimento e più denso di contenuti. Certo, la trama continua a essere criptica, la componente platform è rimasta troppo in secondo piano per un metroidvania e, più importante, la curva della difficoltà è mal gestita con una buona fetta dell'avventura troppo facile e un picco di sfida nel finale. Nel complesso però parliamo di un gioco divertente che non fa mai perdere tempo al giocatore nelle fasi di backtracking. Ci sono margini di miglioramento, ma è assolutamente consigliato.

Blasphemous 2 continues the achievements set by its predecessor while adding three new ways to fight. Not straying outside the lines, Blasphemous 2 is simply more Blasphemous at the end of the day.

Blasphemous 2 has earned its place as one of the great metroidvanias. While it can be punishingly difficult, it’s equally rewarding to overcome all challenges the game has to offer. It maintains everything that was good about the original but also improves on its shortcomings, putting a greater emphasis on exploration and character building. When it comes to overall gameplay, Blasphemous 2 is not a terribly innovative title, but it does an exceptional job of following the best examples of the genre and creating its own unique and unforgettable world. For any metroidvania fan, missing out on Blasphemous 2 would truly be a sin worthy of penitence.

Blasphemous 2 è il ritorno in grandissimo stile del Penitente, che deve mondare i propri peccati (e con essi quelli del mondo) impedendo l'avvento di un nuovo Bambino Miracoloso, in grado di gettare il mondo nell'oblio più totale. A differenza del primo capitolo cambiano le armi, i nemici, e i poteri del nostro protagonista. Tutto è più grande e più curato rispetto al precedente capitolo, e con una difficoltà tarata verso l'alto rispetto alla media dei metroidvania.

Avec Armored Core 6, FromSoftware montre avec brio que son savoir-faire ne se limite pas qu’à Dark Souls ou Elden Ring. Le studio japonais livre ici un jeu d’action avec un gameplay assez irréprochable, à la fois tactique, exigeant et ultra-dynamique, fer de lance d’un titre au rythme effréné… Ne vous fiez pas à la structure prétendument old-school avec des missions individuelles. Fires of Rubicon vous plonge directement dans l’action, et sait dégainer quand il le faut des phases linéaires, plus ouvertes, des boss, sans oublier des panoramas toujours aussi impressionnants. Malgré une légère déception pour les ennemis majeurs, dans la 2nd partie de l’aventure, et un petit manque de contenu, Armored Core 6 est un titre addictif, qui colle à la peau. Un excellent jeu d’action, même si vous n'en pincez pas pour les méchas.

Shotgun King does a wonderful job of setting itself apart from the veritable deluge of roguelikes available today. Its blending of classic chess principles with shooting elements and randomized gameplay makes for a fun and highly replayable experience that we’d suggest you give a shot. If you’re looking for a relatively short, addictive game that requires a bit of thinking to get the most out of, Shotgun King is undoubtedly something you should look into.

Firewall Ultra è un FPS in realtà virtuale e focalizzato totalmente sul multiplayer online piuttosto controverso. Level design e modalità di gioco fanno indubbiamente la loro parte. Anche il comparto grafico rende onore alla potenza di PlayStation VR 2. Peccato per il riciclo totale delle mappe, prese di peso dal prequel; per una modalità PvE per nulla approfondita; per un sistema di controllo che, inspiegabilmente, si affida ai pulsanti e poco ai movimenti naturali delle braccia. Indubbiamente siamo di fronte ad un gioco divertente, quasi assuefacente con il giusto gruppo di amici. Eppure, è innegabile che Firewall Ultra, ad oggi, funzioni peggio di Firewall Zero Hour. I Move non possono competere con i Sense, ma almeno venivano (ben) sfruttati appieno nel 2018. Se possedete l’originale, insomma, tenetevelo stretto. Valutate l’acquisto di questo sequel solo se siete fan del genere e volete gettarvi a capofitto in una nuova esperienza i realtà virtuale
