Arguably the best Monster Hunter clone ever made and while it’s not quite as good as Capcom’s series it does have some unique and interesting ideas of its own – despite initial impressions to the contrary.

Si bien la homogeneidad en un género supone a largo plazo su final, y que buscar diferentes enfoques y propuestas es siempre bienvenido, me preocupa aquello que busca New Allies si tomo en cuenta el futuro de la saga. Blue Byte parece confundido con The Settlers. No es solo que le cueste encontrar una identidad propia entre el enorme número de propuestas similares, sino que a pesar de dedicar toda su vida al PC, no parecen entender lo difícil que es para un juego de estrategia casual lograr sentar unas bases sólidas.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force is using Wild Hearts to flirt hard with Capcom right now. But using a beloved game as the template for a new one isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and Wild Hearts manages to introduce plenty of fun new ideas to the Monster Hunter formula while recapturing it well enough to stand proudly alongside the series that so clearly inspired it. The way it simplifies and streamlines things makes for a slightly shallower package, but its karakuri building adds a fresh new way to interact with the map in its place. And while its lower monster variety is certainly disappointing, I’m still having enough fun that I’m excited to party up with some friends and dive back into both challenging endgame fights and fanciful karakuri decorations alike.

Horizon Call of the Mountain’s exciting highs elevate it just enough above its often monotonous climbing mechanics to create a fun first blockbuster-scale entry into the PS VR2 library. Through intuitive design, awesome spectacle, and gripping combat, Horizon’s first step into virtual reality is one packed with exciting encounters that its slower stretches may sometimes detract from, but never threaten to derail completely. It’s an enjoyable, if not essential, chapter of the Horizon story.

Sony needed a system-seller for their PlayStation VR2, and Horizon: Call of the Mountain is it. Scale, interactivity, haptics, and satisfying combat that matches the main games makes for a must-have for anyone picking up Sony’s newest hardware.

Les studios Guerilla Games et Firesprite ont fait tous les bons choix pour créer un jeu grand public en VR dans l'univers d'Horizon. A moins d'être grandement sujet au vertige, vous ne devrez pas avoir trop de difficulté à terminer Call of the Mountain, et le combat demande un peu de sang froid et de patience, mais se montre tout à fait excitant. L'ensemble exploite bien de la technologie des manettes Sense. Il en subit aussi les défauts mais bon, c'est bien le seul jeu où vous pourrez tenter de mettre le doigt dans le nez d'Aloy. Une perspective unique sur un univers très apprécié.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain è la prima grande esclusiva di PS VR2, un gioco che mostra in pompa magna la potenza grafica del visore e immerge il giocatore con tutti i sensi nelle verdi vallate del mondo creato da Guerrilla Games. A livello di gameplay, però, il titolo non è di certo rivoluzionario: l'avventura ha una buona longevità, ma è troppo lineare, sia nell’impostazione che nella narrativa, con delle fasi esplorative un po’ monotone e troppo preponderanti nell’economia di gioco. Soddisfano invece i combattimenti, molto divertenti e adrenalinici. Il visore PS VR2 è ben utilizzato in quest’esclusiva, così come ci si aspettava, ma il gioco non ha abbastanza elementi innovativi per essere qualcosa di davvero unico nel panorama dei titoli per la realtà virtuale.
