Nonostante sia uscito in Giappone da quasi un anno, Freshly Picked - Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland è un titolo fresco (giust'appunto), in grado di presentare un gameplay che non sappia di vecchio ed impreziosito da uno stile ricercato ed esilarante, espresso dalla sua curatissima grafica bidimensionale. Nonostante qualche giocatore possa storcere il naso di fronte allo svolgimento apparentemente semplicistico dei combattimenti, questo titolo dedicato a Tingle sembra un regalo di Nintendo agli hardcore gamer: lungo, difficile e appagante. In pratica l'ennesima riprova che l'offerta del portatile a doppio schermo è rivolta a tutte le fasce di giocatori e non solo a chi si limita ad accudire dei cuccioli o ad allenare il proprio cervello.

We dig the Dragon Blade concept, and it's one of the reasons we've been following the game so close since its first showing during pre-E3 showings. Wii needs more games like Dragon Blade, not only on the "original IP" train of thought, but as far as beat-em-ups go. The game simply suffers from what looks like a fast development time, not a ton of experience with the hardware yet, and a full retail pricing. As a $40 game (still better than $50) Dragon Blade lacks in far too many areas to be worth the cash, as the combat is simple, the design is entirely one-dimensional, and the simplistic enemy AI and gameplay bugs get in the way of an otherwise straightforward design. For fans of beat-em-up games, or for those that just want to try something new on Wii, give this one a rental, or wait until it drops a bit more before purchasing. Everyone else is free to join us on the wait for a more polished, focused, and ambitious effort in a sequel. The concept is there, but the execution isn't.

In many ways, NBA 2K8 is an improved game on the court. But there are a lot of minor issues that really drag it down. Over the course of my first dozen games, I was in love. But as the season wore on, the issues began piling up to a point that it became a source of frustration. The Lock-on D gaff is inexcusable and the lackluster defensive AI allows decent players to tear it up on offense. Jason Williams should not be dropping 30 points a game. Yet he won the MVP in year two of my franchise. Still, any hoops fan should give NBA 2K8 a look. It's certainly the best basketball game on any system this year. The Association is a solid franchise mode and, if VC can iron out its AI and gameplay issues, next year's model could be something very special.

Capcom sforna l'ennesima collection per amatori, sicuramente apprezzatissima dai videogiocatori più "anziani" ma piuttosto snobbata dagli young gamers. Se c'è qualcosa da poter recriminare in questa raccolta è sicuramente la poca varietà dei titoli a disposizione, ma sulla qualita' c'è ben poco da lamentarsi. Grafica e sonoro non saranno eccezionali, ma il divertimento non fatichera' a decollare, specialmente in multiplayer. Consigliatissimo agli amanti dei Puzzle Game e per chi, come noi di Everyeye, non smette mai di coccolarsi con i classici del passato.

Dark Mirror was an incredible title that showed off the PSP, but Logan's Shadow elevates the story, gameplay and multiplayer elements to new heights. Not only does it keep the formula that made the first game so good, it smoothly improves on it. The tense action and incredible gun battles are strengthened with the addition of underwater combat and new combat abilities that fit seamlessly into the control scheme. Multiplayer has been bolstered with new modes and re-imagined maps, along with a number of balancing aspects. Logan's Shadow is easily one of the best titles to come out on the system this year.

Did you give in? Did you give up hope? Are you one of the loyal fans from seven years ago who got fed up with waiting and just bit the bullet, paying to import an actual N64 cartridge of the Japanese version of Sin & Punishment? If you did, and that's you, well – well done. We're not going to fault you for that, as you likely had a blast experiencing the game in its original edition. But for you, along with all the other gamers who've never yet experienced S&P, we're still going to recommend an immediate download. Invest 1200 Wii Points here, and do it quickly. Because Sin & Punishment is an N64 masterpiece, the hardware swansong that Americans never got to hear. And because here on the Virtual Console it looks better and is more accessible than ever before – its newly translated menus and training modes are the first sign of Nintendo taking the time to make a positive revision to an existing retro title before making it available in the Wii Shop, and that it's even been made available at all speaks volumes for the potential of countless other games in the Big N's back catalog that never got the chance to come to the States. Download Sin & Punishment not just because you'll be getting an outstanding game, but also because you'll be voicing your support for the addition of more import titles to the Virtual Console in the future. Nintendo's made a wise decision in offering this product to American gamers, finally, after such a long time. Let's just hope they keep it up, and that we don't have to wait for the next major import release for another seven years.

Sony has managed to get the balance between mini-games and basketball right for a second year in a row, which is truly incredible. The addition of four new and amusing mini-games are a lot of fun, and the additional depth that was added to Conquest mode makes the feature more engaging than ever before. The new focus on downloadable content, particularly with additional pinball boards is pretty cool as well. While there haven't been a lot of fixes to the gameplay, the added player chemistry does strengthen the traditionally weaker court action. Overall, NBA 08 is a nice follow up to last year's impressive title.
