For those familiar with the America's Army series on the PC, you probably remember that the original version was developed as a recruiting tool by the Army and was, more importantly, free. At the time, America's Army was a hot download because of that very reason, and because it was actually more fun than a lot of the other shooters on the market. Today, that's not the case. While the CEM, the health system and the squad movement and tactics are great attempts to recreate the true Army experience, and the promise of Xbox Live play may tempt you to come back for more, the graphical glitches and horrible enemy AI downright breaks the game, and frequent encounters with bugs like the non-exploding grenade launcher will leave you scratching your head. There's a lot of potential with this franchise if these major errors can be cleaned up, but as it stands, America's Army: Rise of a Soldier is not even close to being all it can be.

As a total package, Drill Dozer will offer most gamers an experience long overdue on the Game Boy Advance. The gameplay is like nothing before it, and the graphical and audio design help to create a world different from any other game on the system. While the mechanic was used to its fullest, providing tons of memorable moments of drilling, players may start to get tired of the constant, repetitive control. Be prepared to drill…a lot. To those who accept it as their own, however, Drill Dozer comes as a truly inspired adventure for the GBA.

Torino 2006 is an essential failure in almost every way. At best it's a collection of rather boring events. At worst, putting the Olympic symbol on the box is a mockery of the games' excellent now bi-yearly presentation. Unless you really, really love competition games, pass on Torino 2006.

I'll be honest with you: Tokobot fell off my radar when I played parts of the import version. The game's characters were endearing, but the play in the early going seemed like it wasn't going to deliver on the promising concept of what the Tokobots were capable of. With just three major abilities, it felt like I had probably seen everything in the few stages I played through. However, the game won me over when I played through it on my own, with little surprises constantly thrown in when the gameplay got stale and boss battles that were worth playing up to. I wasn't entirely wrong that the game only had so much gas in the engine, and everything about this game feels like it's foundation for a great sequel rather than its own must-play game. (Next time, multiplayer? Full physics? Difficulty challenges? Collectibles? More special skills? Extra Tokobots?) Even so, with PSP gamers yearning for both unique game experiences and classic platforming challenges, Tokobot slips into both roles and does its job well.
