A gorgeous retro homage to early 90s kids TV and video games, but where the total lack of depth and challenge leaves little for even fans to get their teeth into.

Considering Power Rangers games have more often than not been middling-to-poor, Rita’s Rewind is a pleasant surprise. It’s been given a lump sum of love and attention from a development team at one with the source material. And, if its obvious polish wasn’t enough, it’s a game that really understands the arcade format and goes all out with dazzling Super Scaler action stages that work well to stave off the genre’s naturally repetitive nature. There are a few aspects to the combat that could have been tweaked, but with its humour, lengthy 15-stage campaign, multiplayer hijinks, and heavy-duty '90s charm, Rita’s Rewind is probably the best Power Rangers game we’ve ever played. It’s pretty Morphinomenal.

Vale la pena di acquistare e giocare Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered? Assolutamente sì. Si tratta del modo migliore di accedere ai due classici, forte di un ottimo lavoro di rimasterizzazione che li migliora in alcuni aspetti, in particolare quello visivo, aggiunge dei contenuti per inquadrare meglio la serie e arricchire il giocatore, e allo stesso tempo rispetta gli originali per quello che erano, evitando revisioni inopportune. Insomma, fa esattamente ciò che dovrebbe fare un'edizione rimasterizzata ben progettata. Certo, non aspettatevi un sistema di combattimento particolarmente raffinato e scendete immediatamente a patti con il fatto che dovrete superare dei puzzle molto difficili per andare avanti. Non parliamo di difetti veri e propri, considerando che si tratta di una riedizione e certe caratteristiche vanno rapportate all'epoca in cui i Soul Reaver furono originariamente pubblicati, ma è giusto che gli eventuali nuovi acquirenti sappiano cosa andranno ad affrontare. Superato questi scogli, comunque, si troveranno di fronte due giochi affascinanti e dalla mitologia molto ricca, che non mancheranno di appassionarli.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered ha l'indubbio merito di preservare e riproporre in chiave aggiornata una saga che ancora oggi ha tutte le carte in tavola per affascinare il pubblico, grazie a personaggi carismatici e un immaginario suggestivo. Il processo di aggiornamento dell'esperienza attuato da Aspyr è altalenante, e non riesce ad arginare gli effetti dello scorrere del tempo, evidenti soprattutto per il primo Soul Reaver. Con la speranza di poter un giorno assistere all'annuncio di un vero remake dell'epopea di Raziel, The Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered riesce se non altro ad attenuare la nostalgia dei fan della prima ora, con un ricco pacchetto di contenuti extra e la possibilità di rivivere, con una spesa contenuta, due giochi che hanno fatto la storia.

Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 are just as enjoyable and atmospheric as they were two decades ago. This remaster treatment faithfully cleans up the visuals, adds some quality-of-life improvements, and stuffs the package with bonus materials, presenting the games at their best, notwithstanding some minor visual bugs. Here's hoping the success of this collection sparks interest in a return to Nosgoth.

Held back by a lack of curation and a disheartening hardlock in Rastan Saga Episode III, Taito Milestones 3 nevertheless delivers some gems. Across the ten-game compilation, you’ll find classics like Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Island, respectable second-string action in Thunder Fox and Runark, as well as Dead Connection underrated gangster-style showdowns. Hopefully, the fourth installment will bring back Bubble Symphony and better beta testing.

« Un studio qui n'a fait que du Wolfenstein, c'est n'importe quoi ! », « Une vue FPS pour un jeu d'aventure, ça n'a rien à voir ! », « Une licence que les moins de trente ans ne connaissent pas, quelle perte de temps ! ». À l'annonce d'Indiana Jones et le Cercle Ancient les haters se sont déchaînés. C'est donc avec encore plus de plaisir que l'excellent jeu de MachineGames se savoure. C'est bien simple, ils sont parvenus à cocher toutes les cases, même celles que l'on n'attendait pas : un respect impeccable de la licence, une scénario et une mise en scène de grande qualité, des environnements superbes et beaucoup plus ouverts que supposés, des énigmes motivantes, des séquences d'action épiques et une infiltration qui fleure bon le vintage. Et même si vous n'êtes pas spécialement fan d'Indiana Jones, vous avez moyen de vous régaler.

All of this amounts to the exact type of praise we hoped we’d be left with; this is Xbox’s definitive game this year, and a perfect love letter to the original films. It captures what made them great in the witty tone, sense of adventure, and captivating mystery and expands it into a full on 30 hour videogame packed with fun and meaningful things to do in addition to the story. Some smarter enemies and a bit more of an expansion to the freedom to solve certain areas our own way would have been welcome, but other than a few minor quibbles Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is a brilliant adventure from start to finish.

Dès son annonce, avec notamment le choix de la première personne (vue FPS), nous étions assez perplexes. Mais les équipes de MachineGames parviennent à rendre un hommage parfait à la série Indiana Jones avec un jeu très plaisant. En l’absence de Lara Croft et Nathan Drake, Indy parvient à se hisser au sommet, sans tomber dans le piège de proposer un copié/collé de Tomb Raider ou Uncharted. Avec Indiana Jones et le Carcle Ancien, nous avons le droit à un jeu qui met l’accent sur l’aventure, les énigmes et les mystères, mettant de côté les affrontements qui sont clairement les passages les moins bons du jeu. On profite ainsi d’un jeu qui reprend l’âme et l’ambiance des films, avec une VF exceptionnelle et une aventure qui nous en met plein les yeux. Un vrai régal.
