Blood & Truth es una de las experiencias de acción más intensas que puedes disfrutar en realidad virtual. Aún con sus limitaciones y oportunidades no aprovechadas, es todo un blockbuster palomitero en el que tu eres el protagonista. Lástima que se haga corto, y que algunas mecánicas no funcionen del todo bien, porque te quedarás con ganas de más.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland proved me wrong twice. Not only did Gust actually make a follow-up to a completed trilogy, but I actually played and ultimately enjoyed it after I swore I wouldn’t. Though between the addictive synthesis, endearing characters and fun story, I probably should have expected as much. In the end, it really says a lot that the most I can genuinely fault the game for is that its narrative is somewhat antithetical to its intent. Lulua wants to be a solid entry point for newcomers, and though it is mostly successful, it’s those same newcomers who are often left out in the cold due to all the nostalgia and Atelier-branded fanservice featured throughout.

Draugen is an enthralling series of mysteries wrapped in a beautiful, haunting landscape. Although some of the game might leave you stumbling around or questioning its direction, it's hard not to play it to the end to find out what happened.

Having a high-concept idea is all well and good, but it doesn't matter what kind of story you tell, or the world you create, if the act of playing the game is so unpleasant. While occasionally putting the pieces together, often Observation left me bored and frustrated.

Pur rimanendo un prodotto incredibile per profondità, complessità e produzione, il port di Resident Evil 4 su Switch è un compitino nemmeno troppo ben fatto. Sia in modalità docked che portatile il gioco soffre di cali di fotogrammi, che facendo il paio con un titolo tridimensionale puro - e di conseguenza con un impianto poligonale ormai datato - ammiccano fortissimo al concetto di remaster pura e semplice, un concetto ormai superato da Capcom stessa visto il lavoro incredibile fatto su Resident Evil 2 Remake. L'esperienza in mobilità è quella che più vi consigliamo, al netto di prendere mano con controlli action e una visuale che rivoluzionarono effettivamente regia e gunplay in terza persona, ma che purtroppo Capcom ha scelto di lasciare a quei tempi pionieristici. Più che una remastered, sogniamo un remake con pieni valori di produzione.

A Plague Tale: Innocence è uno di quelle opere a cui la categorizzazione di semplice videogioco sta stretta. L’opera di Asobo Studio è semplicemente sorprendente, la storia puramente intensa ed emozionante ed ambientata in un contesto così malsano e disturbante valgono da sole il prezzo del biglietto. Il gameplay, pur con qualche sbavatura, riesce nell’impresa di coinvolgere anche se avremmo preferito un livello di sfida più marcato, in modo da garantire il giusto livello di tensione che una storia del genere dovrebbe trasmettere. Il racconto dell’innocenza perduta di Amicia e Hugo ci ha trafitto il cuore, il loro oscuro e poetico viaggio nel lacerato regno di Francia si impone di diritto come una delle produzioni affascinanti di questo 2019 videoludico. Il mercato ha bisogno di più produzioni di così alto tenore artistico, un titolo dal cuore indie ma imponente quanto un tripla A. Trae ispirazione dai migliori pur rimanendo originale e, per certi versi, fuori dal comune. Non possiamo che congratularci col team di sviluppo, una software house che d’ora in poi terremo particolarmente d’occhio.

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection may sport bare BONES emulation, but FRANKly that doesn’t matter, as most of the eight games are just so darn good. I’d go to BAT for rating Castlevania and Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse as masterpieces that everyone should play. Sure, the Game Boy games SUCK, but they are historically interesting and I’m glad they were included. I WOLFED down hours of Castlevania this week, and I’ve played these games my whole life – the Switch version made it easy to WHIP out these classics anywhere, too, so I’m thankful for that. The Castlevania games are UNDYING wonders I’m happy they are being preserved for future generations.
