A good session with Beat Saber literally leaves me breathless. When I’m in the groove, swinging red and blue sabers to precisely bisect an onslaught of incoming boxes as fast as I can might be as close to the feeling of being a Jedi at a rave as I’ll ever come. This challenging rhythm game is definitely a little light on tracks out of the box, but what’s there is both catchy and highly replayable due to the way its scoring system encourages pinpoint accuracy and followthrough, plus a handful of alternate modes to play them on. (And of course, if you’re on PC it’s endlessly expandable with custom tracks thanks to the level editor and mods.) It should absolutely be a go-to for introducing anyone to virtual reality.

Sorti un an et demi plus tard après son annonce, Blood & Truth est l’une des exclusivités du PlayStation VR à posséder dans sa petite ludothèque. En dépit de ses quelques errements narratifs, de calibrage, voire de gameplay par moments, le titre de London Studio maîtrise pratiquement tout le reste. Entre ses déplacements en mode semi-rail shooter réussis, ses gunfights vachement tendus et arcades ou encore ses différentes phases de jeu qui varient grandement les plaisirs, London Studio semble avoir du savoir-faire depuis sa démo technologique VR London Heist. On restera surpris de voir également un aspect graphique bien maîtrisé, agréable pour la rétine, et saupoudré qui plus est d’une bande-son qui en jette vraiment, et qui sonne toujours juste à chaque temps forts et faibles. En revanche, on ne pourra qu’être déçu que le titre se finisse en seulement 5 voire 6 heures si on traîne, et qu’il soit vendu un peu trop cher, soit à 39,99 €. Néanmoins, Blood & Truth est un très bon jeu d’action à la sauce Mission Impossible et James Bond qui fait bien le taf, et où vous vous amuserez bien dessus.

Little Friends: Dogs & Cats is a game that will appeal to animal lovers who miss the days of Nintendogs. While it does have some adorable breeds and some cute customization options, it won’t appeal to those that want to take care of their pets for long periods of time.

Void Bastards is a pure, crystalline distillation of the immersive sim genre - all the feeling with none of the fluff. Full of variables, it invites the player to experiment and be experimented upon.

RAGE 2 held plenty of potential, but even considering how great the combat is, falls well short of that goal. The sequel is hampered by the same issues that cropped up in the original. The campaign is a non-factor and the open-world needed more life in it. Third time's the charm?
