Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission rappresenta un tassello importante nella storia del franchise videoludico basato sull’opera di Akira Toriyama: finalmente anche il card game della serie non canonica arriva in Occidente; ne derivano le più rosee aspettative anche circa i titoli futuri. A fronte di un comparto narrativo che non brilla quasi mai ma che si mostra funzionale allo scopo (insegnare le basi e i livelli avanzati del combattimento a base di mazzi di carte), di alcune scelte dubbie (come l’impossibilità di saltare le animazioni di intermezzo dei combattimenti) e di un comparto tecnico obsoleto, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission offre una mole di contenuti impressionante, tantissime ore di gioco e verrà probabilmente adorato dai fan della serie. Soprattutto da coloro che hanno sempre sognato di vedere su schermo la trasformazione in Super Saiyan 3 di Vegeta, o fusioni improbabile e dall’aura potentissima.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain is a marked improvement over its predecessors in spite being a spin-off by a different developer. Fans of the series will definitely appreciate the additions made to the game while still retaining what made the series so enjoyable. If further installments are able to improve on what Yuke's has done with the series while also fixing some of its issues to bring it up to speed of other modern shooters, it could expand the game's market well beyond its cult following.

Outward isn't revolutionary, but there's a lot to be said for the sense of achievement the game grants in both single and multiplayer.

Unruly Heroes features a mix of platforming and combat with four characters that you can switch between on the fly. With a handful of interesting bosses and plenty of mechanical variation between levels, the game never locks you into one style of play for too long. Ultimately, though, I didn’t find any part of it that much fun to play, which wasn’t helped by its leaden controls and uneven difficulty.

Outward is an ambitious, uncompromising game, sometimes to its own detriment. There’s a lot to like about it, from its unique take on player character death to its focus on the mundane aspects of adventuring. But every moment when it really shined was surrounded by drudgery and frustration. Outward is sure to appeal to some players, but it often undercuts its own best features.

Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit is ingeniously designed. The synthesis of physical cardboard Toy-Con with commensurate digital software creates a tactile and fun virtual reality experience that feels decidedly Nintendo. However, once the initial magic of Labo VR wears off, all that is left is a shallow, oddly assembled lot of minigames that won’t last more than an afternoon.
