Qualunque valutazione di Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission è necessariamente connessa all'essere un gioco di Dragon Ball, nel bene e nel male. Per chi ha sempre odiato il mondo creato da Toriyama (o semplicemente non ne è mai stato interessato) resta un piacevole gioco tattico di carte ben fatto e calibrato meglio di quanto sembri all'inizio, ma è facile che venga a noia dopo qualche decina di ore. Per tutti i fan del gioco (e cioè per i veri destinatari del gioco) è invece semplicemente imperdibile. Un'operazione di fan service all'ennesima potenza, nel senso più positivo possibile, che terrà attaccati alla schermo tutti gli amanti della serie indipendentemente dall'età, con una quantità di personaggi e missioni da far impallidire persino Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Eastshade è una piccola gemma: un gioco senza violenza costruito intorno al piacere della scoperta della bellezza, che funziona alla perfezione proprio lì dove si limita a invitare all'osservazione e alla contemplazione. Meno riuscite le meccaniche tradizionali, come quelle di crafting, che risultano in un certo senso invasive e in contrasto con il concept stesso del gioco. Fortunatamente non lo rovinano irrimediabilmente, quindi sono tollerabili. Insomma, se volete vivere un'avventura diversa da quelle offerte tradizionalmente dai videogiochi, valutate l'acquisto.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice arriva finalmente su Switch (e solo su eShop, almeno per ora) con un port che sacrifica qualcosa dal punto di vista tecnico pur di far vivere il viaggio introspettivo della fragile guerriera celtica anche ai possessori dell'ibrida Nintendo. Ovunque la si sperimenti, la scommessa vinta di Ninja Theory è un'opera imperfetta, se ci limitiamo a considerare la qualità delle parti, ma emotivamente intensa, ambiziosa e unica. Una visione creativa senza compromessi che porta con sé un importante valore di sensibilizzazione culturale verso una tematica difficile quale l'infermità mentale, trattata con un linguaggio che è una grande conquista per la maturazione del medium videoludico. Anche su un livello personale, la determinazione di Senua dovrebbe ricordarci più spesso che “anche nell'oscurità, la bellezza del mondo è sempre lì...”.

Trattandosi di un semplice spin-off, e non del nuovo episodio della serie Atelier, Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World ha saputo soddisfare solo in parte le nostre aspettative. Il titolo vanta un articolato sistema gestionale, ma la superficialità e soprattutto la linearità della trama impediscono al percorso di Nelke di catturare l’attenzione del giocatore e trattenerlo per tutta la durata della vicenda. Lo scarso peso attribuito ai combattimenti, all’esplorazione e alla stessa alchimia, solidi pilastri su cui Gust ha eretto il proprio brand, rendono dunque il capitolo celebrativo un prodotto poco consono agli appassionati di JRPG. Ne consigliamo l’acquisto solo ai fan di vecchia data, i quali siamo certi non si lasceranno sfuggire l’irripetibile occasione per rivedere tutti gli storici protagonisti della saga.

After a very rough start, I met Outward on its terms, finishing several quests and exploring each of its expansive regions from top to bottom. In doing so, I saw some cool sights, fought some worthy opponents, and cast a lot of cool spells with its impressive magic system. I spent more time, however, slogging through long, boring battles with an otherwise poor combat system, working around major bugs, scrounging berries to eat, sleeping in tents, and just walking the same roads, back and forth, from one familiar town to the other and back again. These flaws didn’t just crop up regularly – they defined the experience. There is the seed of a better RPG here, but it’s buried under too much rough terrain. At its best, Outward can offer novel experiences, a good challenge, and a fun way to play with friends. It spends more time at its worst, though, and that’s boring and tedious.
