The lack of a single-player campaign does little to tarnish Black Ops IIII, which given the strength of its three varied modes is still an incredible amount of value. Blackout does an excellent job of directly copying its contemporaries while being objectively better than them, Zombies is Zombies, and the multiplayer is some of the strongest the series has seen in many years thanks to some meaningful changes that have genuine impact without rocking the boat too much. I’ll see you back here next year, where we see if Infinity Ward can keep the good feeling going.

Dakar 18 llega como un ambicioso proyecto de conducción y posiblemente esta ambición ha hecho que el juego se quede a medio camino en muchos apartados, pocos modos jugables, largos tramos de pista que pueden hacerse monótonos o un sistema de físicas algo errático son algunos de los defectos de un juego que a nivel visual es mas que notable, sobre todo en sus vehículos y que ofrece una experiencia que no hay en otros juegos, en lo que respecta al multijugador, el online es escaso en opciones e irregular en funcionamiento y algo que podemos olvidar gracias a su mas que competente modo a pantalla partida.

The experience of playing this title is one of roller coaster highs and lows. At first, it seems like the new bad game everybody should check out. It’s so gormless in its stupidity that it’s endearing. Through extended play, those scales drop from the eyes and the blissful ironic joy gives way to tedium as the player prays to their deity of choice that they don’t run into a bug that renders the scenario unwinnable. With fixes to the pathfinding and spawning, Heavy Fire: Red Shadow would be an honest to goodness hilarious arcade style classic, intentionally or not. As it stands, only the most patient should climb behind the gun.

LEGO Superheroes 2 adds more characters, references, and story to the previous entry while remaining to stand still is most other regards. Plenty of fun with friends or hunting down that last objective, but when left to your own devices, you might find yourself deviating.

Each aspect of Black Ops 4 introduces some great new ideas that continue to evolve the series. Active healing in multiplayer gives players more control and, paired with Specialists, it makes for a great tactical experience. The new heist mode is a wonderful palate cleanser, too. Zombies thrives from having more than just two launch maps; the beginner mode is a fantastic way to ease in to the tense action, while Rush keeps the maps feeling fresh. Blackout is the most exciting of the three, though. Instead of bringing some crazy twist to battle royale, Treyarch smartly uses the format to combine past Black Ops offerings into a fun, hectic mode that entices us to jump in over and over again. Black Ops 4’s rough edges do hold it back from an even better execution of its best moments, but when you’re not experiencing those technical issues, any of Black Ops 4’s three modes make for an enjoyable shooter experience that feel distinct and personalized.

Black Ops IIII laisse une impression paradoxale : la recette est généreuse, les mécaniques du multijoueur compétitif sont maitrisées, les codes du genre parfaitement digérés. Et, le plus important : on s'amuse. Le titre ne sort en revanche jamais de sa zone de confort et peine à surprendre. Difficile d'avoir envie de s'y investir pendant des centaines d'heures, mais pour une petite partie apéritive en rentrant du travail, il fait parfaitement l'affaire, surtout si vous n'avez pas joué à un Call of Duty depuis plusieurs années.
