Loin d’être une évidence, le portage Switch de Dark Souls Remastered s’en tire finalement avec les honneurs, pour peu que l’on ferme les yeux sur les quelques sacrifices consentis par les développeurs (framerate, jouabilité).  Toutefois, si l’opportunité de se surpasser à l’extérieur de chez soi a quelque chose d’excitant, on lui préfère quand même les versions PS4 et Xbox One, plus confortables et mieux adaptées.

Black Clover: Quartet Knight non è una mera operazione commerciale, come potrebbe sembrare all’inizio del gioco, e soprattutto se ci si dedica solo alla modalità storia. I combattimenti sono caotici ma divertentissimi e ci scopriremo presto mormorare solo un’altra poi stacco dopo due ore di battaglie a colpi di grimorio e magie.

With or without the unnecessary toys, Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a commendable space adventure. Even with the repetitive grind and randomly scattershot space combat, this is a great-looking, gratifying game of strategic action and environmental exploration. Switch owners are undoubtedly the winners, but there’s something here to enjoy on any platform.

Packed with jokes and DC fan service but the Lego formula is long overdue a complete revamp, because it’s starting to ruin concepts like this that are otherwise ripe with potential.

The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is an evocative, offbeat adventure with a sinister yet imaginative gameplay hook. Its story suffers slightly from subpar voice acting and an eagerness to tell more than show, but for the most part this is a dark, strange and utterly compelling journey into the tortured mind of its main character, and one absolutely well worth taking.

Dark Souls è e rimane un classico immortale, e la sua incarnazione per Nintendo Switch risulta indubbiamente valida in forma portable, grazie al suo fascino inestinguibile. Tra le recenti Remastered, ad ogni modo, questa è la più debole, per via di qualche rallentamento di troppo in forma docked nonostante i sacrifici fatti per supportare l'hardware di Switch, e della necessità di rigiocare il tutto ancora una volta a 30 fps. Si poteva fare di più.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas è una vera e propria scommessa per Ubisoft. In molti, prima del colosso transalpino, hanno già provato a battere la strada dei “toys to life” con risultati altalenanti. La produzione dei ragazzi di Ubisoft Toronto ha l'indubbio merito di proporre un'esperienza ludica che non si era ancora mai vista, nella peculiare fetta di mercato in cui si vuole inserire. Inoltre, cerca di essere trasversale, di parlare a più fasce di potenziali appassionati. Il titolo appare fresco e divertente tanto nella struttura quanto riguardo al gameplay, mentre la presenza delle pregevolissime aggiunte fisiche non fa altro che solleticare anche il palato di collezionisti d'ogni risma, nonostante il prezzo (sia reale che virtuale) non sia del tutto abbordabile. Il gioco, intendiamoci, permette di raggiungere la fine dell'avventura (magari con un po' più di impegno) con il solo starter pack ma, se volete scoprire tutti i segreti che si celano nel sistema Atlas, qualche aggiunta la dovrete per forza mettere in conto. Purtroppo, Starlink soffre di una ripetitività di fondo che si fa sentire soprattutto nelle fasi avanzate, portando il giocatore a svolgere le attività solamente per raccogliere esperienza e risorse necessarie con cui raggiungere i titoli di coda. Inoltre (almeno su Switch) l'engine appare imbrigliato da limiti e qualche inciampo di troppo che non permettono di apprezzare appieno il lavoro svolto dai designer del team di sviluppo. Ora che il Starlink è giunto nei negozi col suo carico di “giocattoli”, la sfida per Ubisoft si fa ardua: migliorare ed estendere la cornice narrativa proponendo qualcosa che possa continuare a stupire il pubblico e indurlo all'acquisto dei futuri contenuti. In base a quanto rivelatoci dagli sviluppatori, le idee non mancano e le novità non si faranno attendere. La nostra speranza è che Starlink possa davvero divenire un gioco in continua espansione. Come l'universo.

It’s pretty clear that Infliction is a passion project and although it’s a bit rough around the edges, I had a lot of fun while playing it. It’s not the scariest game I’ve ever played, but it does a pretty decent job of keeping you on the edge of your seat and pouring over every scrap of paper in the game to try and piece together the story. I also love that it’s clearly influenced by classic horror films like The Exorcist and Jacob’s Ladder, just to name a few. The fact that Infliction was mostly created by one person is very impressive and if you enjoy supporting small Australian studios, I recommend picking it up and giving yourself a good scare.
