NBA 2K19 isn’t the most exciting release the series has had. There really isn’t anything that makes it stand out significantly, other than the overall level quality that we’ve come to expect from the series. Another year, another outstanding release for the series. There still isn’t a better alternative when it comes to video game basketball.

There’s no beating around the bush that Destiny 2 was a disaster. Bungie has owned up to their mistakes and the result is Destiny 2: Forsaken. While it’s not cool that it’s taken $140 to get here (and more if you splurge on microtransactions), Destiny 2: Forsaken presents Destiny 2 with its much-needed reset. The campaign is compelling enough thanks to its excellent boss design, though Uldren lacks the history to be a strong antagonist. The new locales are a joy to explore and provide a nice change in pace compared to the vanilla worlds. Gambit is an exciting new mode, but, like the Blind Well, is heavily dependent on what kind of teammates you have. Destiny 2 needed something to save it and Forsaken bought it a new lease on life.

En dépit des apparences, tous les jeux ne gagnent pas à être portés, même si leur registre semblait en apparence taillé pour le mode de jeu nomade. Difficile de savoir si c'est le travail d'optimisation ou simplement les capacités de la machine qui ont nivelé Cities Skylines vers le bas. Si l'on saluera bien bas le travail effectué pour rendre le jeu de gestion maniable et intuitif, le framerate en souffrance permanence, les nombreux bugs sonores et visuels rendent l'expérience de jeu frustrante et parfois décourageante. Un vrai rendez-vous manqué.

Al final cualquier obra es un conjunto de luces y sombras. Nada escapa tampoco al paso del tiempo y esta versión de Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut también ha sufrido estas inclemencias y, tras estos años, han aparecido obras mucho más completas y amigables dentro del género. Cierto que sigue manteniendo el encanto que lo ha convertido en un juego de referencia en el género del rol más clásico. Sus conversaciones, sus personajes y la historia pueden tenerte enganchado a la pantalla durante semanas si le das la oportunidad y vences su curva inicial. Esta versión de Switch mantiene todo este encanto con el añadido de poder llevarte tu grupo de Rangers a cualquier parte, pero lo cierto es que se percibe un port poco cuidado y mejorable, a pesar de todas las bondades que el juego de InXile Entertainment atesora para aquel que esté dispuesto a ir hasta el fondo para encontrarlas.

V-Rally 4 requires immense suffering just to eke a modicum of enjoyment from its frustrating, archaic game design. The few things it does right is not remotely worth the price of admission.

After years of waiting, Sega finally delivered the Shenmue experience we deserve. Although it's clunky and a little dated, the series holds up incredibly well after nearly 20 years.

Avec une histoire qui parvient à tracer d'une manière satisfaisante la frontière entre l'exploration de haut niveau et celle de son personnage, Shadow of the Tomb Raider conclut significativement le voyage que Lara a commencé en 2013, laissant un bagage convaincant au sein d'un univers lancé à l'origine il y a plus de 20 ans. J'aurais aimé plus d'incitations à l'exploration dans ce magnifique monde imaginé par Eidos Montréal, mais point trop n'en faut finalement. Il y a tellement de choses à apprécier au-delà de ça, comme des idées et des puzzles incroyablement difficiles... J'ai hâte de voir ce que Lara nous réserve à l'avenir.

Revenant Dogma looks and plays as though it’s been spat out of RPG Maker 2000. There’s very little depth within, and any depth that it does offer is usually puddle deep. The game may well be accessible and house a decent soundtrack, but in the midst of its near complete lack of innovation and originality, that’s hardly a selling point. Furthermore, Revenant Dogma is free on iOS and Android. Go there to avoid suffering a loss.

NASCAR Heat 3 is a fun and entertaining stock car racing game that needs to take more steps towards offering a simulation for racing fans. Opening up an eSports division should encourage the cream of the crop to represent the real life sport in a virtual world. Champions of other racing games have literally gone on to win great things. The Career Mode is deep and engaging and the Xtreme Dirt Series is an excellent addition to the series. The visual and audio issues are something that need an update, but there’s enough new content that the fans of this series will really enjoy.
