Shadow of the Tomb Raider succeeds in giving Lara the character growth she needed and also brings the reboot trilogy to a satisfying closure. It does so mostly by refining the strong gameplay foundation set with the previous installments while delivering a great action/adventure experience in terms of storytelling and audiovisual spectacle.

Square Enix e Crystal Dynamics chiudono la trilogia del rilancio di Lara Croft stando bene attente a non prendersi troppi rischi. Shadow of the Tomb Raider è un gioco che vive delle sue atmosfere e suggestioni visive, più a fuoco con la protagonista rispetto al capitolo precedente, e che riesce a espandere e arricchire con successo le meccaniche stealth. L’avventura prende per mano il giocatore infilandolo in una sequenza apparentemente infinita di cose da fare, da vedere e da scoprire, fino alla sequenza finale. Se la prevedibilità del tutto può essere un punto a favore per chi cerca “solo” un altro bel gioco d’azione incentrato sull’eroina inglese, è anche vero che rimane un po’ la sensazione che si potrebbe osare di più e cercare di dare maggiore personalità al gameplay. Rimangono alcune imprecisioni ormai tradizionali della serie, sia per quanto riguarda l’aspetto visivo che per il gioco vero e proprio, ma il saldo finale è ampiamente positivo.

There are some things that I can nitpick about, but all in all, this is a pretty great game and a great way to end Lara’s origin story. Fans of the rebooted Tomb Raider series are sure to be pleased, and if you’re someone who has yet to get into the franchise, maybe now is the time to do so.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider takes the series’ formula and pushes it, polishing the platforming and bolstering its tombs, but the game’s power ebbs as the main quest is bloated with distraction, and the writing is still patchy and dull.

Dernier volet d’une trilogie qui aura tenté de donner à Lara les nouvelles bases d’un futur potentiel, Shadow of the Tomb Raider est la dernière marche piégée de l’autel planqué dans une pyramide Maya. Alors que les premières heures donnent l’impression, positive, d’une volonté de se servir de la maîtrise accumulée sur les deux précédents épisodes pour une conclusion qui en impose, la réalité rattrape le joueur plus vite qu’un jaguar. Le jeu d’Eidos et Crystal Dynamics se dégonfle à la moitié de l’aventure, perdu dans ses grosses ficelles. Scénario rushé à la hussarde dans les dernières heures, game-design qui n’évolue plus jamais après une limite bien visible, la déception s’étend mollement jusqu’à la conclusion. Pourtant, les mécaniques principales fonctionnent, les tombeaux annexes restent malins, mais rien ne vient élever Shadow of the Tomb Raider au-dessus d’un copycat fatigué à l’enrobage envoûtant. Dommage.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, come evidenziato nella nostra recensione, è un'avventura clamorosa, spettacolare, imperdibile per i fan della serie. Un episodio che chiude il cerchio aperto con il primo capitolo, cinque anni or sono, e ci consegna una Lara Croft letale, persino spaventosa in alcuni frangenti, ma mai così umana. La trama del gioco ci ha coinvolti dalla prima all'ultima missione, pur con qualche riserva relativa al ruolo e alla presenza concreta del villain di turno, mentre sul fronte delle meccaniche il lavoro svolto da Eidos Montreal appare in perfetta continuità con quanto fatto da Crystal Dynamics. Gli scenari sono maestosi, suggestivi e mai così vivi e l'impatto visivo del gioco e la sua cifra artistica sono indiscutibili. Certo, sarebbe stato possibile introdurre qualche combattimento in più per irrobustire un po' la campagna e aumentarne la durata, ma anche così Shadow of the Tomb Raider se la cava alla grandissima.

Cumple con las expectativas de lo que es un buen juego, tiene calidad y no presenta fallos graves, aunque le faltan elementos que podrían haberlo llevado a cotas más altas.

Dommage pour ce Another Sight qui partait pourtant sur un bon postulat de départ. Si la représentation visuelle et sensorielle de la cécité est bien retranscrite à l'écran, elle ne trouve pas l'écho nécessaire dans le maniement des personnages et dans le fil narratif trop ténu de l'aventure. Bouclé en cinq heures environ, le titre du studio italien ne parvient pas à faire oublier ses lacunes et se montre assez frustrant sur la durée.
