La nuova opera dei ragazzi di Santa Monica porta indiscutibilmente il franchise di God of War su nuovi livelli, come esplicato nella nostra recensione. Lo rende al passo con i tempi, modificando sensibilmente la sua struttura ma mantenendo una importante coerenza con il passato della serie. Non è solo Kratos a essere maturato in questo cambiamento, ma l'intera struttura di un gameplay che ora è più ampio e imponente in ogni singolo aspetto. Sono le criticità di un sistema di combattimento non abbastanza evoluto e profondo, unite a una mancanza di varietà negli avversari a non permettere al titolo di raggiungere lo status di capolavoro di questa generazione. Fermo restando che non giocarlo sarebbe semplicemente un crimine, anche soltanto per ammirare la maestosità tecnica raggiunta dal team di sviluppo.

Bien plus maîtrisé et abouti que Dead in Bermuda, Dead in Vinland est typiquement le genre de titre qui vous frappera du syndrome "aller, encore un tour et je vais me coucher". Difficile d'accès de prime abord, il n'en reste pas moins accessible, à condition de prendre la peine de s'y investir et de s'habituer à son rythme lent. Le concept de base, ce mélange atypique entre survie, gestion et jeu de rôle, est suffisamment engageant et dense pour y laisser facilement quelques dizaines d'heures de son temps libre. Sur la longueur, la routine de gameplay peine cependant à se renouveler. Si vous n'accrochez pas dès le départ, n'espérez pas voir soudainement arriver un élément de jeu qui vous fera sauter au plafond. Dead in Vinland convient parfaitement aux adeptes de la survie qui veulent passer leurs nuits à lire des feuilles de stats, à jouer avec les taux de probabilités et à gérer leur campement. Les autres ne seront ni pris par la narration, ni par les combats.

Burly Men at Sea is a lesson in simple elegance and whimsical storytelling. Almost more of an experience than a game, it's intended to be enjoyed, soaked in, rather than beaten. This short yet fantastic tittle is a fantastic addition to the Switch lineup, and a must-play for everyone's inner child.
