Assassin’s Creed Origins takes the series in a new direction with more RPG elements and it’s better for it. The game has a huge map with an incredible density of things to do which will keep you busy for well over 100 hours. It looks amazing and especially those playing on an Xbox One X hooked up to a 4K/HDR TV will not believe their eyes at how simply gorgeous it is. The production quality here is off the charts and I can’t help but look forward to where the series might be headed next. But for now? I’ll gladly dive back in for a NewGame+ This is a MUST purchase, people!

Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings is another solid chapter in the current era of Gust’s franchise about heroines drawn to alchemy—and that’s said in both a good and a bad way. If you’ve enjoyed previous Atelier games for what they’ve been, then twins Lydie and Suelle are ready to take you on another adventure of crafting items, fighting monsters, and uncovering the secrets that hang over their homeland. However, if you’ve been hoping for some real progress or change in the Atelier formula, that recipe, sadly, remains undiscovered.

Sea of Thieves is a pirate fantasy sandbox with an enormous amount of things to do, made unpredictable and exciting by the addition of other players. Coordinating together across the deck of a massive pirate ship is pure chaos at times, but it’s also endlessly entertaining. The cosmetic-only progression system doesn’t give you as much incentive to keep playing as I’d have liked and its free-form nature left me feeling lost at sea at times – but if you’ve got a good group of two or three friends to play with, it’s hard to find a game as entertaining to jump aboard.

La versione PC di Sea of Thieves vanta nel concreto gli stessi pregi e gli stessi difetti di quanto visto su Xbox. Il titolo Rare propone un impianto solido, appassionante, in grado di dar vita a vere e proprie avventure dai risvolti sorprendenti, dandoci in pasto scorci memorabili e un mare reso in maniera assolutamente meravigliosa; ma al contempo è vittima di alcune semplificazioni e di una generale mancanza di spessore e contenuti, elemento questo che speriamo venga raddrizzato nel corso delle prossime settimane. Su Windows 10 il gioco ha l'enorme difetto di non supportare l'HDR, una tecnologia fondamentale per enfatizzare la qualità del sistema di illuminazione, contribuendo in tal modo all'atmosfera generale, e le regolazioni grafiche sono poche. Tuttavia quanto a prestazioni non gli si può dire nulla: gira molto bene, senza quelle incertezze a cui tante altre produzioni ci hanno spesso abituato.

When Sea of Thieves clicks, most likely because you have a full galleon of fellow pirates to work with, it can create a rousing, fun experience whether completing a long voyage for the Gold Hoarders or even just sailing around, looking for any hidden secrets or loot. But remove that and becomes clear that you have a game with little in the way or content or variety. It’s still decent, of course, but it’s nothing to write home about without a group. There are probably several more depth-related puns to be made, but let’s just say that to get the most out of things, you had best work out something with some friends or fellow players to create a devoted crew, lest things get shallow quickly.

A detailed well-executed game that keeps you busy throughout. It does need an end goal that is more clear so that players know what to do next when they have started out sustaining life on Mars. Overall, a must buy!

Quando arriva il momento di scendere in campo, MLB The Show 18 lascia ben pochi dubbi sul perché chi ama il baseball debba acquistarlo. Una simulazione sportiva deve appunto pensare prima di tutto a portare il videogioco quanto più possibile vicino alla realtà a cui essa è legata, e da questo punto di vista la fatica di San Diego Studios brilla come non mai. Prima di procedere, è comunque bene tenere presente che le novità rispetto all'anno scorso sono poche, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la modalità Road to the Show dove ci saremmo aspettati qualcosina in più, per arrivare ai livelli delle carriere viste in altre simulazioni sportive.

Pure Farming 2018 possède de sérieux atouts surtout quand on sait qu’il s’agit d’un premier essai dans le domaine pour les développeurs et l’éditeur. Il ne révolutionne pas vraiment le genre, et la licence Farming Simulator n’a pas de quoi s’inquiéter pour l’instant, toutefois on sent que les bases d’une concurrence saine sont posées. Idéal pour les nouveaux joueurs, il a le mérite de proposer autre chose, et on espère que cette nouvelle franchise se bonifiera dans les années à venir. En bref, pas mal pour un début. On sent vraiment que Iceflames et Techland n’ont pas lésiné sur les moyens pour prendre leur part du gâteau sur le « Farming game ».

Tirato a lucido e completo di tutti i contenuti extra, Burnout Paradise Remastered è senza dubbio una gioia per gli occhi dei fan di vecchia data, che possono trovare un remaster valido, completo dei contenuti, solido nel comparto multiplayer e visivamente esaltante. Quelli che hanno giocato la versione originale ritroveranno un amico vecchio di anni, ma per fortuna senza troppe occhiaie. Chi invece non ha mai avuto la possibilità di giocare Burnout Paradise dovrebbe prendere in considerazione l’acquisto per lasciarsi catturare da Paradise City. Contrariamente a quanto si dice in questi anni, non è del tutto necessario infatti avere amici al fianco con cui giocare. Il single-player di Burnout Paradise Remastered è completo e pieno di cose da fare, forse un po’ tendenti agli standard degli anni ormai trascorsi, ma comunque in grado di incollare allo schermo per ore. Ora vogliate scusarci, ma è tempo di tornare nella città dove i prati sono verdi e le ragazze sono carine.
