Animal Well es uno de los juegos indies más interesantes de cuantos se ha lanzado hasta ahora en 2024. Parte de una fórmula conocida, la de un metroidvania, pero la retuerce para convertirla en algo distinto y llevanos a un terreno menos explorado, repleto de misterios y secretos. Un juego especial, que deberías jugar a poco que te llame el género.

Animal Well è un piccolo sogno e un grande gioiello: un metroidvania originale dalle meccaniche uniche, che descrive un mondo che difficilmente riuscirete a dimenticare. La sua struttura di gameplay e i suoi puzzle lo pongono, senza dubbio alcuno, come uno fra i migliori esponenti del suo genere da dover necessariamente vivere e fare proprio.

Animal Well è un metroidvania atipico e irriverente verso le più trite convenzioni di un genere che sempre più spesso dà segni di stanca. Niente paura: ci pensa Billy Basso a guardare verso le stelle dal fondo di un pozzo, spernacchiando con classe produzioni ben più blasonate e investimenti miliardari. E che pozzo: splendido da vedere, impareggiabile nell'uso degli effetti di luce, inquietante il giusto e sorprendente da ascoltare, l'opera è un colpaccio per il publisher Bigmode, che con Animal Well muove un passo clamorosamente riuscito nel mondo indie. Impossibile fermarsi ai titoli di coda: a ogni schermata si vuole spingere l'oscurità un po' più in là, disvelando man mano un mondo che sa essere gentile e spietato allo stesso tempo. Mai ingiusto, Animal Well premia spirito d'osservazione e capacità critica, mettendo in gioco il pensiero laterale e la naturale curiosità dell'essere umano. E allora viva i videogiochi, viva chi li crea con amore come Billy Basso, viva i giocatori che stanno premiando un metroidvania che scombina le carte in tavola e le ricompone in un quadro d'una bellezza e di un'originalità assolutamente eccezionali.

Nos amis les chats sont servis ces dernières années, entre Stray et ce Little Kitty, Big City <3 Une belle petite aventure, assez courte mais toute mignonne, qui joue sur la verticalité des décors et sur la faculté qu'ont nos amis (non... je les déteste) les chats à grimper partout.

Little Kitty, Big City est une aventure sympathique qui pourra vous occuper le temps d’une soirée ou deux. Sans grands enjeux scénaristiques, il propose tout de même un gameplay efficace et un terrain de jeu agréable à parcourir. Les possibilités disponibles pour rendre la vie dure aux humains permettent aussi des moments parfois assez amusants. On regrette simplement une durée de vie un peu courte et quelques soucis de précision lors de certains sauts ou phases d’escalade.

Little Kitty, Big City is an adorable adventure that will almost certainly turn you into a cat lover, if you're not one already. It oozes charm and the realistic cat animations are simply incredible, although for as fun as it is to wander about the city, the game leans heavily on fetch quests and gathering up collectibles, which can lead to repetition. If you're someone who thrives on that kind of gameplay, however, then you'll have an absolute blast with this one.

Little Kitty, Big City gets the assignment, but doesn’t completely land on all four paws. The exploration is a blast, the world is delightful, and the side characters can steal the spotlight. I just felt like my time here was too short, and without much going on during it.
