El Paso, Elsewhere doesn't boast the slickest gameplay out there, but its tale of love, death and the impending end of the world is one that consistently kept my attention. This is an entirely unique experience, and one I suggest checking out if you are a fan of supernatural neo-noir.

While Gunbrella might struggle with providing a challenge, it more than makes up for it by providing a dark, gritty world where your choices have very real consequences. Not all is doom and gloom, as the comedy flows like polluted water down a city’s gutters on a rainy night, and you can bet it’s accompanied by some killer jazz!

Era lecito aspettarsi di più da Firewall Ultra. L'eredità di Zero Hour viene raccolta solo in parte, visto che la produzione alterna passi in avanti a inspiegabili passi indietro sul fronte dell'interattività. Il nuovo sparatutto tattico di First Contact Entertainment mantiene intatte le proprie qualità ludiche, a partire dalla forte enfasi riposta sul gioco di squadra, ma deve fare i conti con tempi di matchmaking lunghi e un sistema di progressione non abbastanza stimolante. C'è poi il problema della scarsa varietà in termini di modalità di gioco, che ci auguriamo possano essere espanse in futuro.

Le disattenzioni da parte di Xixo Games Studio sono davvero troppe e grossolane in questo Enchanted Portals. Da una evidente volontà di emulazione di Cuphead, unico esempio (oltre che fonte d’ispirazione) davvero vicino a questo titolo in maniera evidente, a un lavoro che lascia purtroppo a desiderare, il passo è breve e finire con l’ottenimento di risultati claudicanti è davvero facile. Se il gioco ha un impatto visivo retrò e che poteva davvero promettere bene, ricordando in pieno l’atmosfera e la produzione animata di quasi un secolo fa, la sostanza al contrario si colloca su un piano ben diverso e senza speranza. Un gameplay senza struttura, piatto e poco coinvolgente, con un tasso di difficoltà inutilmente alto e complicazioni in gran parte dovute alla risposta lenta ai nostri input nei comandi di gioco. A questo si somma un level design di scarsa qualità che affossa in via ulteriore il giudizio di un titolo che fa davvero fatica a trovare il suo senso di esistere, soprattutto in un genere come il run’n’gun che richiede competizione, velocità e reattività. Oltre a dover presentare, al netto del genere di appartenenza, una storia che abbia un minimo di rilevanza e chiarezza, cercando in qualche modo di ingolosire il giocatore. Niente di tutto questo però riesce a essere messo in campo da Xixo Games Studio, che non esordisce al meglio nel panorama videoludico.

MythForce pulls HARD at the nostalgic strings of those that long for Saturday morning cartoons. The looks are unfortunately far above the gameplay however with the slow progression and broken combat. It’s not so much that it’s near unplayable, just noticeable. I look forward and hope we see more MythForce in the future whether that’s a straight sequel or another genre as long as it uses this amazing look.

FIFA 23 était sans doute le titre le plus complet de la saga sous l'ancien nom, et EA Sports FC 24 va un peu plus loin malgré le changement d'appellation. Si le titre ne bouge pas vraiment les meubles sur les modes Carrière (que ce soit manager ou joueur), il gonfle drastiquement la variété du mode Ultimate Team en ajoutant les cartes du football féminin ou le principe de cartes évolutives. On appréciera surtout le gameplay bien revu par rapport à la saison passée, avec des courses en profondeur et joueurs rapides avantageux, mais un système de construction et de pressing assez malin. À noter également, le changement d'identité visuelle des menus, quelques ajouts de stades comme celui de Lille pour bien lancer la lignée d'EA Sports FC.

Slaps and Beans 2 deserves to have its day. It is not the best scrolling beat ’em up out there but it does enough to stand out. It has voice acting and animation which the others don’t have. It has some mini-games and puzzling elements which make it stand out. It also tries to add some humour to make the experience more enjoyable. So if you want to play a local beat ’em up with your friend or family then why not pick this up as there is some fun to be had.

A lighter side-entry into the Trails series, The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails may not engross you in its narrative, but will surely charm you with its carefree nature.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails es una entrega ‘menor’ de la extensa franquicia de Nihon Falcom , pero no por ello es un mal juego. De hecho, una vez aceptamos que estamos ante un juego de hace más de 10 años para una portátil estamos ante un Action RPG muy divertido y sobre todo carismático, algo que siempre consigue esta empresa, que sus títulos, quizá no destaquen en lo técnico, pero tengan algo, inexplicable por mi parte que hace que estén por encima de la media de RPG japoneses, o que como mínimo tengan luz propia. Nuestra siguiente cita es ‘Trails Through Daybreak’, mientras, relajémonos en Remnant Isle con Nayuta y sus amigos.

We haven’t quite been waiting 100 years for an Avatar game that lives up to the potential of the show, but it’s certainly beginning to feel that way after playing Avatar: The Last Airbender - Quest for Balance. This half-baked and wildly inconsistent retelling of the excellent TV series shows the promise of what an Avatar game could maybe be, but a baffling choice of which scenes to highlight, a clunky camera and combat, hilarious balance problems, and an overreliance on middling block puzzles and boring fetch quests leaves our search for the real Avatar still desperately out of luck. With more Avatar shows and movies on the way, it’s just downright odd how Quest for Balance has managed to arrive at this point in time as both an unsatisfying entry point for newcomers and a poor way to revisit it for dedicated fans.
