Una raccolta di giochi interessanti in caso vi affascini quel genere di videogame "à la Pokémon", stavolta caratterizzati però da un vivace sistema di combattimento basato su carte e completamente in tempo reale. La struttura di gioco resta però un po' obsoleta - specialmente per l'abuso di incontri casuali - e l'evoluzione fra i giochi titoli inclusi nella raccolta è davvero minima. Resta comunque un sistema di battaglie divertenti che potrebbe tenere alto il vostro interesse casomai vi "acchiappi": in quel caso ne avrete per qualche centinaio di ore, senza contare la nuova opzione di gioco online.

MegaMan Battle Network Legacy Collection is a neat package of 6 GBA titles with some interesting features that somewhat capture the appeal of the games. While it could do a lot more, the games themselves are good and the collection makes them easier to enjoy than ever.

It's clear that a lot of effort and love went into Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection; this is a worthwhile re-release that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. While everyone will have their favorite, the Mega Man Battle Network series remained remarkably consistent throughout its whole run, due in no small part to the innovative battle system and charming storylines present in each entry. If you’re a fan of Mega Man and haven’t given these games a shot yet, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up immediately. Even if you’re not a Rockman enthusiast, these games each offer up some inventive RPG experiences that are certainly worth your time.

Capcom punta a far apprezzare a una nuova generazione di giocatori il lavoro fatto da Inafune un ventennio fa. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection ripropone una decina di titoli ben curati e impreziositi da un comparto online, una modalità che rende gli scontri meno duri e una paio di chicche (le patch cards, per esempio) che i veterani del periodo Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS apprezzeranno. Qualcuno si lamenterà per la mancanza di alcuni famosi spin-off, ma il pacchetto offerto mette sul piatto più di 200 ore di gioco (per completare davvero tutto dovrete investirne il doppio). Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection è insomma un'occasione imperdibile per riscoprire/recuperare una delle serie più sottovalutate del Game Boy Advance. L'unico dubbio riguarda il prezzo della raccolta che non è decisamente a buon mercato (59,90 euro per tutti gli episodi, 39,90 per uno dei due volumi disponibili).

Ghostwire: Tokyo cerca da subito di distinguersi dalla massa, proponendo una cornice di gioco realistica sconvolta però da misteriose forze spiritiche. Le meccaniche sanno essere convincenti, e il comparto grafico lo è ancora di più. La nuova fatica di Tango Gameworks sa proiettare su schermo degli scorci e delle scene estremamente caratteristiche e inquietanti, rese ancora più incisive dalla visuale in soggettiva. La longevità potrebbe non convincere tutti, ma non dovreste soffermarvi troppo su un dettaglio del genere quando il titolo ha da offrire qualcosa di concreto e divertente (come in questo caso). La trama pone le basi per la creazione di un'ambientazione capace di accogliere prequel e sequel. Peccato solo che, a tal proposito, non si sia fatta maggiormente la conoscenza di alcuni personaggi.

Aussi saisissant qu’inspirant visuellement, envoûtant musicalement, et calibré pour offrir une expérience courte mais prenante, 9 Years of Shadow n’a finalement que peu de véritables défauts. En tant que Metroidvania, il coche toutes les bonnes cases, avec une difficulté suffisamment équilibrée pour être abordable, même si les combats de boss auraient mérité un peu plus de challenge et de créativité. Privilégiant le skills avant tout, le soft réussit à se renouveler via la plateforme et un level design sachant mettre en valeur les spécificités liées aux armures, en dépit d’un léger manque de folie. On regrette surtout les petites imprécisions techniques et crash survenus, un game design qui, faute de moyen sans doute, ne peut se permettre d’aller encore plus loin, et l’absence de rejouabilité, malgré une courte expérience finalement suffisante pour la proposition. On espère vivement revoir une proposition dans l’univers du jeu ou de l’ajout de contenus, car l’excellence semble à porter de main.

Non possiamo negare che nei panni di Alex ci siamo divertiti a scoprire una versione fantasiosa (ma neanche troppo) del Regno Unito alle prese con una nuova classe politica emergente, con folli ideali ed imprese surreali. Il punto cardine dell'esperienza è la satira, incentrata prevalentemente sulla politica e sugli scandali, che seppur esagerati per strappare una risata divertono proprio per i rimandi alla società attuale. Rimane comunque una nota di dispiacere sulla mancanza della localizzazione in italiano, fattore che potrebbe allontanare molti utenti all'acquisto di questa piccola esperienza dal taglio pungente e satirico.

If co-op shooters are your bread and butter and you’ve picked up a PSVR2, you should certainly give After the Fall a whirl. Gunplay is tight, and the core experience feels well-suited to VR, producing nail-biting moments that will stick in your memory. The problem that cools off the good times had is the lack of interesting content. The missions, weapons, enemies and modes on offer are entertaining, but there aren’t enough of them to keep me coming back time and time again.

There is a devilishly fun roguelite hiding in Mighty Doom, but the way it’s been buried under all the most egregious money-making schemes in mobile gaming is hugely disappointing. I enjoyed the first few hours, when monsters posed an entertaining challenge I could satisfyingly overcome, and I would probably be happy to recommend it if Bethesda had balanced all nine levels to match. But it’s not long before a super-powered difficulty spike meant my Slayer’s defense and damage output just couldn’t keep up — at least, not without opening my wallet. Even when you do, this invisible paywall and the free-to-play speed bumps that accompany it turn Mighty Doom into a teeth-grindingly frustrating experience that made me want to delete the app entirely rather than pay to upgrade my Slayer enough to progress.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Remake est un jeu d’aventure sympathique où l’on prend du plaisir à voir la pensée logique et rationnelle de Sherlock Holmes se heurter à l’univers surnaturel du mythe de Cthulhu. Si on peut lui reprocher un manque d’innovation général et la présence de quelques défauts ici et là, tout le travail abattu par Frogwares afin de lui donner une seconde vie mérite le respect, surtout compte tenu des conditions loin d’être idéales dans lesquelles il a été conçu. Une belle réussite.
