Marvel’s Midnight Suns pulls all its different elements together to create a memorable tactical RPG. The combat is the main event and its execution resulted in every battle being an enjoyable event, whether it was taking on a nefarious supervillain or relieving Hydra of the ownership of a valuable artifact. Outside of battle, life in the Abbey is full of activities and social interaction with other super heroes that greatly flesh out its RPG elements. The dialogue trees aren’t the most in depth ever created, but they’re fleshed out enough where they help the world feel alive and worth saving from Lilith. The end result is a game that isn’t just a must play for superhero fans, but one that should be experienced by RPG fans in general.

The Callisto Protocol is a supremely atmospheric and action-heavy tour through a spectacular slaughterhouse set in distant space. Its largely linear design makes for minimal backtracking, meaning it trims the fat while leaving no shortage of bone and gristle to rip and tear. However, it also betrays its survival horror roots by regularly tipping the balance of power too far in favour of the player, and while there’s plenty of murderous fun to be had using giant grinding mechanisms to make mulch out of mutants, such cheap thrills come at the high cost of puncturing any tension and dread that the tremendous art and audio design work so hard to invoke. Aside from the meaty melee combat, there’s also the overriding sense that there’s not a lot here that hasn’t been done before – and there’s disappointingly little to do once you’ve beaten the campaign. Thus The Callisto Protocol is a satisfyingly gory spiritual successor to the Dead Space series, but it’s ultimately more of a striking modern mimic than a scary new mutation.

The Callisto Protocol es una aventura formidable, muy lineal (en el buen sentido), que sabe beber de Dead Space pero encontrar su propio camino. Es una pena que introducir algunos elementos en su Pase de Temporada limiten tanto su vida y que su segunda mitad no sea tan inspirada. Pero qué bien me lo he pasado.

Il ne faut pas s’attendre à une production de l’envergure d’un titre Vanillaware, c’est évident. Les développeurs semblent en être conscients, nous proposant une expérience agréable à parcourir, facile d’accès et avec des combats sympas. Dommage que les ambitions n’aillent pas plus loin. Le gameplay manque finalement de richesse et de profondeur, le récit et les personnages sont oubliables et visuellement, malgré un charme évident, l’immersion ne prend pas. Pas un mauvais jeu, mais le manque d’originalité et les quelques défauts le rendent peu mémorable.

Papetura è un'avventura che si inserisce in quelle opere punta e clicca che negli anni sono diventate marchio distintivo di Amanita Design, ma non si avvicina alla stessa qualità ludica. Il mondo di carta di questo breve (ma poco costoso) gioco è ottimamente realizzato e la colonna sonora ha potuto contare su un esperto del settore di comprovata capacità, ma non basta per consigliare il gioco a tutti gli appassionati del genere. Tenetelo in considerazione, ma non aspettatevi un'avventura particolarmente appassionante.

Goodbye World è un'avventura narrativa indie che cerca di trattare di temi importanti, come l'amicizia, i disagi giovanili e i problemi dell'industria videoludica, senza però riuscirci appieno. Con una graziosa grafica in pixel art e un mini gioco all'interno del gioco stesso, il titolo offre un gameplay limitato e decisamente troppo breve, motivo per cui non riesce nell'intento di far appassionare il giocatore ai temi trattati, che risultano accennati e prematuramente lasciati prima che potessero esprimere tutte le loro sfaccettature.

Hello Neighbor 2 a tout d’un vrai gâchis. En partant d’une bonne idée et d’un concept redoutable, et disposant des erreurs de son prédécesseur comme appui favorable, le titre de Tiny Build Games réussit quand même à replonger dans les mêmes travers qu’il y a 5 ans. Joli, charmant, avec quelques beaux moments de mise en scène, Hello Neighbor 2 s’avère plaisant lorsqu’il nous laisse jouer avec tous les objets et énigmes de son univers très réussi. Puis vient la déconvenue, l’IA catastrophique, les bugs, le concept même du jeu qui part à vau-l’eau lorsqu’on tente d’exprimer un tant soit peu notre créativité. Un titre qui a besoin d’une bonne session de patch avant de pouvoir s’affirmer comme convenable. En l’état actuel des choses, à 40€ avec des DLC déjà prêts à alléger votre portefeuille, on vous conseille de passer votre chemin.

Syberia: The World Before Approcciarsi a Syberia: The World Before è un'operazione malinconica, consapevoli che si tratta dell'ultima opera del compianto Benoît Sokal. Per certi versi, l'avventura di Kate Walker può rappresentare un testamento spirituale del leggendario artista belga: un racconto delicato ed intimista denso di significati, impreziosito da una direzione artistica sublime ed una colonna sonora evocativa. Al netto di qualche incertezza tecnica e di alcune scelte di game design che potrebbero renderlo poco adatto a chi cerca enigmi intricati nelle avventure grafiche, il quarto capitolo di Syberia è un degno e commosso omaggio a questa storica saga. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a beautiful-looking and sounding game with fun team-combat, even for players who are new to the universe. There are some issues with loading times and connectivity that are sure to be patched in the future.
