Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is a delightfully stylish origin tale that sees young Bayo take her first steps on the road to becoming the badass Umbra witch we all know and love. This is a graphically stunning fairy tale with plenty in the way of atmosphere and charm. However, long-term Bayo fans beware, it's also a game that's aimed squarely at a young/casual audience, introducing plenty of fun puzzle and combat mechanics but never really evolving them to a point where they become in any way challenging. Repetition creeps in later in the game and, although it ends with some bombastic sequences and a few nice shoutouts to the main series, it feels like a little more challenge and experimentation in puzzles and combat could have made this one absolutely essential for all ages.

Nonostante gli anni trascorsi, dal punto di vista ludico e narrativo The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure si difende ancora bene, e oggi come allora racconta una delle più mature e coinvolgenti storie che la saga di Nihon Falcom abbia da offrire. Se la sempre appagante componente strategica compensa l’assenza delle tante meccaniche proposte dalle più recenti incarnazioni del brand, l’anello debole della catena va ricercato nel comparto tecnico, che disgraziatamente ha subito pochissimi ritocchi e dimostra una certa pigrizia da parte dello sviluppatore nipponico. Da una parte siamo convinti che i fan più sfegatati riusciranno a chiudere entrambi gli occhi sugli evidenti limiti del prodotto, che dopo oltre un decennio di atteso è infine giunto sulle nostre coste, ma dall’altra vi è la concreta possibilità che lo scarso profilo tecnico di Trails to Azure spaventi eventuali neofiti, che per poter comprendere e apprezzare appieno le vicende della Squadra Speciale di Supporto dovrebbero comunque passare prima da Trails from Zero. Anziché lanciarli singolarmente, forse sarebbe stato più saggio, da parte del publisher NIS America, proporre i due episodi di Crossbell attraverso un unico pack.

Una versión algo justita de la segunda parte de un JRPG mítico. Su mayor virtud es que por fin podremos jugarlo en nuestro territorio, pero le haría falta más trabajo para que no se sintiera tan fuera de su tiempo.

Switchback VR is a fun, albeit flawed, arcade shooter. While the game lacks enemy variety, has disappointing bosses, and has some graphical issues, the core gunplay remains fun and the variety of locations you’ll visit keep the game entertaining throughout the rather short campaign. While I wish the rollercoaster theme was utilized for more thrills, it is still a blast to take down a horde of enemies as you ride through a burning house or a creepy backwoods road.

Resident Evil 4 était un monument en 2005. Resident Evil 4 reste un monument en 2023. Pour ce énième remake, Capcom redore le blason de sa pépite, avec une fidélité et une générosité que l’on ne lui connaissait pas. Redécouvrir l’aventure européenne de Leon dans ces conditions est une bénédiction de tous les instants. Beaucoup plus beau, clairement plus jouable, moins ringard, repensé sans tomber dans la trahison, ce remake de Resident Evil 4 coche absolument toutes les cases. On n’en attendait pas moins : après un Resident Evil 3 honteusement charcuté, Capcom n’avait pas le droit de ternir l’image du meilleur épisode de la saga culte. Resident Evil 4 est donc toujours le meilleur épisode de la saga.
