Avec Football Manager 2023, on ne change pas une équipe qui gagne. Le jeu de simulation/gestion de football reste une référence et peaufine sa copie, apportant des nouveautés ici et là qui améliore encore l’expérience. Sûr de sa force, Football Manager 2023 n’offre pas d’innovations majeures et s’avance plutôt comme une mise à jour de l’édition 2022. Pour ceux qui ont passé des heures sur la version précédente, l’absence de grosses nouveautés sera un frein. En revanche, il s’agit d’une évolution intéressante si vous avez fait l’impasse sur la mouture 2022, ou que vous souhaitez découvrir la série. On vous laisse, on a une Ligue des champions à gagner.

Football Manager 2023 è un manageriale straordinario, l'apice di un'evoluzione durata 30 anni e che ha reso i lavori di Sports Interactive dei prodotti anche troppo profondi e dettagliati per essere veri. La simulazione coinvolge ogni microscopico dettaglio della gestione di un club di calcio, e come è successo in passato siamo certi che le novità introdotte quest'anno diventeranno imprescindibili per gli allenatori del futuro. L'altra faccia della medaglia è rappresentata dalla superficialità con cui Sports Interactive si approccia al rinnovamento di ogni capitolo della sua leggendaria serie: per il terzo anno di fila l'UI è indistinguibile da quelle dei capitoli precedenti, la simulazione di gara è tecnicamente inguardabile e presenta ancora diversi problemi relativi all'IA, e più in generale la sensazione è quella che lo studio vada al risparmio cercando di applicare efficaci ma piccole novità senza trasformare realmente il prodotto. Nel bene o nel male, sempre lo stesso, identico e meraviglioso Football Manager di sempre.

Con l'edizione 2023, Football Manager porta a compimento un triennio importante, che ha visto l'introduzione di nuove colonne portanti per il gameplay, come il Centro Dati, lo Squad Planner e l'aumento dell'importanza dei procuratori, tutte atte ad avvicinare sempre di più il manageriale di Sports Interactive alla realtà. Come se non bastasse, sono stati compiuti passi avanti sia dal punto di vista delle licenze, con tutte e tre le competizioni ufficiali UEFA riprodotte, sia da quello del motore di gioco, ancora legnoso ma comunque sempre più ricco di possibilità. Stante la totale assenza di concorrenza, potrebbe bastare anche questo per consigliarvi senza troppe remore il titanico lavoro di Miles Jacobson e del suo team, nonostante permangano imperfezioni qua e là, soprattutto nel bilanciamento degli infortuni e in alcuni atteggiamenti poco credibili dell'intelligenza artificiale. Se amate il calcio, insomma, e ancora di più vederlo dalla panchina, non potete proprio perdervelo.

Sonic Frontiers is a brave new direction for the series, but this first ‘open-zone’ entry misses the mark by quite a margin. Traversal and combat annoyances plague the experience from start to finish, while structurally the game offers up very little variety, instead leaning on repetitive fetch quests that get exasperating after the first island. As far as the Switch version goes, it’s quite comfortably the worst option available to fans, with graphical compromises that make it impossible to recommend if you're able to play it anywhere else at all. If you’re going to get this game, we implore you to try it out elsewhere.

Sifu was one of the best games of the year when it launched on other platforms, and it’s no different now on Switch. Its hardcore combat that pushes you to the limits of your skill, paired with a smart ageing mechanic, makes for one of the most satisfying gaming experiences in the beat 'em up genre. While the Switch port is obviously a bit downgraded from the PS5 version, it’s still a more than valid option for Nintendo-only gamers and those keen to try this kung-fu brawler out on the go.

A Little to the Left is a family-friendly puzzler that’s great in short bursts. It doesn’t have a whole lot of content at the moment, but still provides a few hours of relaxing brain teasers to solve.

The game's simple nature binds a Little to the Left, but it achieves its aims very well. Even when testing your brain with a puzzle, it is a calming game. It offers various puzzles, some with multiple solutions, a daily puzzle to keep coming back to, and a little amusing narrative in the background that all cat owners will find familiar. This is a game I've enjoyed, and I can find myself returning to it, offering an excellent refresher and palate cleanser.

Aunque no es el juego más sólido del mundo, desde luego es una apuesta valiente que funciona mejor de lo que muchos esperaron en un principio. Consigue dar una nueva dimensión al lore de Sonic, aunque no sea del gusto de todo el mundo y tenga trabas técnicas notorias.

Sonic Frontiers è un gioco pieno di idee potenzialmente interessanti che vengono però sommerse da una serie di scelte bizzarre, su tutte le meccaniche open world che lo caratterizzano. Le zone che costituiscono il mondo del gioco sono anonime, confusionarie e con fin troppi collezionabili obbligatori per poter proseguire nella trama. Alla ricerca degli amici di Sonic in pericolo si finisce per correre male e combattere fin troppo, nella speranza di sbloccare il prima possibile l'accesso ai livelli classici. Questi rappresentano l'elemento più riuscito e veramente divertente del gioco e migliorano un'esperienza generale altrimenti al limite dell'insufficienza. Certo, c'è da dire che la trama imbastita va a scavare nella mitologia della serie e che il senso di epicità non manca, anzi, ma la realizzazione generale, purtroppo, anche a livello tecnico, non è all'altezza di quello che il gioco vuole raccontare.

Sonic Frontiers ose sortir des sentiers battus par la franchise, et pour oser… il ose. Transformer une formule historiquement linéaire en un open world n’est pas chose aisée, et la Sonic Team s’en sort sans pour autant parvenir à éviter tous les écueils qu’un tel changement impose, à commencer par la répétitivité de l'aventure, une technique perfectible et une caméra mise en difficulté. Toutefois, cette nouvelle expérience Sonic souffle un vent de fraîcheur sur la saga avec ses combats titanesques, son approche du "platformer" en monde ouvert et sa volonté de repousser ses propres limites, quitte à perdre en maîtrise.
