As someone who delighted in blasting through the original RoboCop: Rogue City, my hopes for this standalone Unfinished Business expansion were higher than a junkie on Nuke. However, outside of the exhilarating playable cameo from ED-209, there’s really not enough new here to make another 10 hours as everyone’s favourite baby food-slurping supercop worth going out of your way for. Peter Weller’s deadpan delivery is as endearing as ever, and the cryo gun is an icy blast (though ironically still not quite as cool to use as the Auto 9), but the supporting cast of characters is seriously shoddy and the raft of performance issues on PlayStation 5 make for a bumpier ride than accelerating up the exit ramp from the Metro West carpark. If you thirst for some more Auto 9 bursts flourished with TJ Lazer-inspired twirls then RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business will certainly scratch the itch on your trigger finger, but it’s far from the future of law enforcement.

Shadow Labyrinth is a great idea. However, poorly defined hitboxes, inconsistent mechanics, and over-inflated difficulty bog down what could have been a great experience.

Falling short of Odyssey’s genius, Donkey Kong Bananza is still a top tier Switch 2 platformer from the masters of the genre. A heartfelt story and pleasing nods to DK's past make this the ape's most memorable adventure in many years.

Avec Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo signe un retour aussi audacieux que réussi pour son légendaire primate. Porté par une direction artistique éclatante, un gameplay rafraîchissant et un duo principal attachant, le jeu combine nostalgie et innovation avec brio. Ses mécaniques de destruction, ses niveaux regorgeant de secrets et ses nombreuses possibilités de personnalisation en font une expérience aussi riche que surprenante. Bien plus qu’un simple clin d’œil au passé, Bananza affirme l’ambition de Nintendo de renouveler ses licences phares sur Switch 2. Et le moins qu’on puisse dire, c’est que le pari est largement relevé.

In buona sostanza, Donkey Kong Bananza si presenta all'(attesissimo) appuntamento coi videogiocatori in una forma smagliante ribadendo ancora una volta la straordinaria abilità e la freschezza della visione artistica del team creativo capeggiato dal director Motokura, già assurto agli onori delle cronache per lo splendido Super Mario Odyssey. È un prodotto accessibile ma adatto anche a una platea più navigata, reso imprescindibile da una delle migliori implementazioni della distruttibilità ambientale mai viste in un videogioco su console. Se a questo aggiungiamo un racconto piacevole e capace di strappare più di un sorriso, una formula ludica solida e divertente e un comparto tecnico di assoluto pregio, il quadro risultante è quello di una nuova gemma scintillante nella ludoteca di Switch 2.

Se Super Mario Odyssey fosse un album musicale, sarebbe un disco Art Pop di qualità sopraffina. Donkey Kong Bananza, invece, tende più al Progressive Rock barocco: chiassoso, stratificato, variopinto, mai timoroso di osare e oltrepassare i confini stessi del genere. Nell'interazione che consente di distruggere quasi tutto, nella creatività straripante di certe soluzioni, nella lunghezza insospettabile dell'avventura, nella difficoltà di alcune sezioni finali. Arrampicarsi sulle superfici, frantumarle, saltare e rotolare, cercare e scovare tesori, è tutto parte di un'esperienza unica e coinvolgente. Il gioco comincia pacatamente, poi è un crescendo continuo fino alla magistrale conclusione. È, in breve, uno dei migliori platform 3D mai creati, estremamente rispettoso del passato del personaggio, ma proiettato totalmente al futuro. Per il gioco dell'anno, come cantava De André, "attenti al goriiii-iiii-iii-iiii-lla"...

College Football 26 is a very good college football video game, but I don’t think it’s a great one; I’m pretty choosy when I use that word. This year’s version walks a little taller, looks a little more toned, and has better footwork than last year’s model. It has put in the work in the off-season, but there’s still more to be done. Proper teaching tools aren’t here yet (for the love of God, EA, please, so my friends can play this game without spending days of their lives on YouTube), and Road to Glory and Dynasty still need meaningful changes. But Dynasty is at least compelling enough, and the on-field game still has it where it counts. You can tell the College Football team is listening, and that it cares. EA has avoided the sophomore slump, but like any college football fan will tell you, you don’t build a Dynasty off a couple good seasons alone. You have to build for the future. College Football 26 is a step in that direction, but EA will have to keep at it if they want this series to be up there with the all-time greats. You’ve got potential, kid, and you’re better than last year. What matters now is if you can take that leap (you know, the one we’re all expecting you to) next season.

Edens Zero è il classico adattamento videoludico a basso budget di un manga o di un anime, quindi un prodotto mediocre pensato soprattutto per i fan. Eppure Konami aveva per le mani il potenziale impressionante di alcune idee brillanti e lo ha espresso malissimo con una programmazione maldestra e un comparto tecnico fuori tempo massimo. Lo consigliamo con riserva ai fan sfegatati di Hiro Mashima e della sua opera fantascientifica, magari a un prezzo scontato, e speriamo in un eventuale sequel più curato.
