The Precinct’s focus on proper arrest protocols and penalising excessive force requires a certain level of patience that not everybody will possess (and it’s a system that eventually wears out its welcome) but I genuinely enjoyed prowling the city for procedural crimes while the story lasted – and the soggy, neon-splashed ’80s setting works wonders. Fallen Tree Games had a previous crack at emulating the top-down shenanigans of classic Grand Theft Auto back with 2019’s American Fugitive, but putting the action on the right side of the law in The Precinct has proven to be far more arresting.

The Precinct è una lettera d’amore ai polizieschi degli anni ’80, confezionata con cura e un pizzico di nostalgia. Non reinventa il genere e non prova a competere con i titani del mondo open world, ma trova la sua identità in un equilibrio ben costruito tra azione, atmosfera e libertà. Se avete sempre sognato di vestire la divisa e pattugliare le strade di una città corrotta con solo una radio e un paio di manette, questo gioco potrebbe regalarvi esattamente quell’esperienza. Imperfetto, ma dannatamente stiloso.

The Precinct is an impressive sandbox romp. Fueled by a dynamic crime system that offers up hours of fun, bite-sized objectives, it's a very difficult game to put down. Every patrol is different, and although tedium does start to set in as the campaign approaches its conclusion, it's still easy to appreciate the intricate and tight design of this ode to old cop movies.

Es una pena que The Precinct acabe siendo un título irregular, quizá por algunos arcaicos sistemas, su previsible historia y su repetitivo bucle jugable, porque aquí había potencial para mucho más. The Precinct has potential to be great as a view into the other side of things if you're a GTA fan, but that would all depend on whether you can look past some of the issues. It’s worth a play if you're ever curious to see what the cop life is like.

The Precinct prend les allures de certaines licences fortes dans leur format à l’ancienne pour nous amener cette fois-ci du côté des forces de l’ordre. Entre les nombreuses règles à respecter pour être un bon agent de police, la variété des activités proposées et l’histoire qui fonctionne bien, The Precinct nous offre une expérience solide qui nous occupe durant de nombreuses heures. Son ambiance 80s, et sa bande son, nous plonge dans un univers où gangs et corruption rongent Averno, mais dont les efforts de toute une équipe arrivent à endiguer. Manette en main, c’est un régal même si l’IA est parfois perfectible. Avec un petit prix attendu lors du passage en caisse (39,99 euros, dont une superbe édition physique) et une démo disponible même sur Steam, il n’y a aucune excuse pour ne pas s’y essayer.

The Precinct ne sera malheureusement pas la pépite surprise attendue, loin de là même. Si certains apprécieront sans nul doute l’hommage aux anciens GTA, mais en étant de l’autre côté de la barrière et les mécaniques liées à cela, les limites du jeu en termes de narration, de répétitivité et d'approximations de gameplay trahissent les ambitions. Au final, malgré une proposition de base intéressante, le jeu est vite rattrapé par tous ces défauts trop importants qui ne permettent pas d’avoir l’expérience « fun » promise par le studio;

Nous attendions beaucoup de The Precinct suite à nos premières minutes dessus l’année dernière. Peut-être trop finalement. La plus grosse déception réside dans sa narration très pauvre et sa structure de jeu peu intéressante. En revanche, le titre propose une expérience de résolution des crimes et délits bien plus sympathique. Avec son système de génération d’infraction dynamique et aléatoire dans une ville certes petite, mais vivante, The Precinct nous donne toujours quelque chose à faire. Amendes de stationnement, trafic de stupéfiant, courses poursuites en voiture ou en hélicoptère, les situations sont variées auxquelles s’ajoutent du contenu annexe à parcourir. Dommage que la prise en main soit entachée par quelques soucis de collision en véhicule et que leur conduite soit un peu trop savonneuse. Malgré cela, The Precinct demeure tout de même un titre plutôt agréable à parcourir que l’on peut vous conseiller.

Alors qu'on l'attendait comme un jeu d'action inspiré par les premiers GTA, The Precinct ressemble finalement bien plus à une simulation d'agent de police lambda inspirée d'une série américaine médiocre. Cela n'empêchera pas certains joueurs de prendre un certain plaisir à suivre les aventures de Nick Cordell Jr, à condition de ne pas avoir peur de réaliser des tâches ingrates et répétitives, ou de devoir râler contre l'imprécision des phases de shoot.

Racing after an armed robber, crashing through road signs and dodging civilians, only to jump out of your patrol car, take cover behind your vehicle and engage in a firefight with the crazed assailant is as fun in The Precinct as it sounds. Unfortunately, once they’re in cuffs, the monotony of processing the soon-to-be prisoner drags the experience down. Combined with a shallow story told in an uneven way, the repetitive gameplay loop tarnishes the badge and gives the boys in blue a bad wrap.

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade can be fun for a bit, but with repetitive levels that lack a significant challenge for most of the three campaigns, it doesn’t stay that way for long. Though its quick and basic combat is solid, the potential of its diverse weapon selection to bring variety and nuance to battle is undermined by how easy so much of it is without really investing in them at all. Not to mention you’ll see all there is to see, enemy and level-wise, by the end of the first chapter of the first character you choose. And when its stories fail to do much more than provide a flimsy bridge to the next group of baddies to kill, you might be convinced pretty quickly to let sleeping legends lie.

While it doesn't necessarily break new ground compared to its genre contemporaries, Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a well-crafted action roguelite that wholeheartedly embraces its strengths. Alongside an exceptional combat flow and meaningful weapon customization, evocative character arcs shine with memorable individuality. Even if the title's greatest avenues of potential, namely the boss variety, aren't reached, this is still a worthwhile triple adventure for action enthusiasts.

DOOM: The Dark Ages masterfully blends brutal combat, fluid exploration, and rich visuals with fresh mechanics and smooth FPS gameplay. Though its storytelling may not resonate with everyone, it's a thrilling, modern evolution of the franchise's.

C'è tanto da fare e scoprire nei nuovi mondi alieni tra esplorazione scanzonata, attività legate all'avamposto e al personaggio, missioni principali/secondarie e sfide. Ci sono alcuni difetti, ma anche una sfilza di miglioramenti alla formula del primo capitolo, da cui eredita l'identità e le fondamenta del gameplay oltre all'atmosfera; Revenge of the Savage Planet ne espande e arricchisce ogni elemento senza risparmiarsi, a costo di mettere un sacco di carne al fuoco non tutta di prima scelta ma consapevole che, in virtù di una simpatia travolgente, qualcosa gli si può perdonare. A tutto ciò ci aggiunge il plot twist rappresentato dal coraggioso cambio di prospettiva che, col senno del poi, è facile capire quanto aiuti a godersi le sfumature dell'esperienza imbastita da Raccoon Logic. Che rimane irriverente, satirica nella sua narrazione, ora grottesca e ora scanzonata, sempre ai limiti del cartoon anche quando, osservando meglio, sembrano intravedersi lineamenti ben più seri oltre la coloratissima maschera di ingenuità.

Doom: The Dark Ages Doom: The Dark Ages segna una svolta decisa e consapevole per il franchise, proponendo un’esperienza dark fantasy/fantascientifica per giocatore singolo più matura, viscerale e atmosferica. Abbandonata la frenesia ultratecnica di Doom Eternal, il gioco si rifà a un immaginario medievale oscuro e lovecraftiano, dando vita a uno shooter più lento, ma non per questo meno brutale o appagante. L’introduzione di nuove meccaniche di parata (grazie all'incredibile sega scudo), armi corpo a corpo, nuove e devastanti bocche da fuoco e sezioni a bordo di mech e draghi rende il gameplay sorprendentemente vario e coerente con l’ambientazione. Nonostante qualche rischio di ripetitività e l’assenza del comparto multiplayer, The Dark Ages riesce a rinnovare la formula senza tradire l’identità del Doom Slayer e a renderla - grazie alle tante funzioni di accessibilità - alla portata di qualsiasi giocatore. È un Doom diverso e, proprio per questo, dannatamente affascinante! PRO Combattimento più strategico e meno frenetico | l’introduzione del Cosmic Realm e dei mech giganti (Atlan) arricchisce la lore del DOOM Slayer | colonna sonora potente che mantiene l’identità sonora del franchise CONTRO Meno mobilità rispetto a DOOM Eternal | un po' di ripetitività nelle sezioni Atlas e con il Drago | livelli talvolta un po' dispersivi |
