Saints Row pairs a great open-world city and respectable gameplay fundamentals with repetitive, dated mission design, a story that never finds its footing, and too many bugs to count. Depending on what you prioritize in a game, you may get some enjoyment out of it, but at best you’re looking at a diamond in a whole lot of rough.

Saints Row is a franchise I’ve really liked but never loved, at least before. This reboot is different though, and after 20 hours in a few days, I keep coming back for more. Once the game is out in full, I’ll gladly play it all again, and often, in co-op. It’s a big, over-the-top, extremely fun game and if they can sort out the bugginess quickly it’s an easy one to recommend.

Il reboot di Saints Row offre un'esperienza divertente, resa ancor più varia dalle numerose Imprese Criminali e capace di elargire sorrisi, vista la presenza di folli armamenti da scoprire e Abilità fuori dall'ordinario. Oltre al viaggio di fratellanza alla base del racconto, il vero elemento che spinge a prolungare la permanenza a Santo Ileso è la sconfinata personalizzazione, che vi permetterà di avere l'ultima parola su look di personaggi, armi, auto e del QG dei Saints. Ancorata per certi versi a stilemi del passato, l'ultima fatica di Volition è affetta da alcune criticità sia sul fronte ludico che prettamente grafico e più in generale non riesce a far raggiungere nuove vette evolutive alla serie. Detto questo, se siete amanti del caos e dei viaggi criminali scanzonati e gestibili, preparatevi a concludere l'estate col botto.

As a reboot that is all about capturing the series’ spark all over again, it is immediately recognisable. Building the Saints from the ground up retreads gameplay and story that fans have experienced before. However, the bombastic spirit of the earlier generations’ stripped-back open-world antics is woefully undermined by a plague of bugs and an overwhelming sense of deja-vu. The older Saints titles have more arsenal, activities, and humour than this half-baked reboot.

I problemi principali di Midnight Fight Express sono essenzialmente due, ossia che la bontà del sistema di gioco finisce per essere penalizzata da alcune scelte di design, che rovinano alcuni momenti dell'esperienza, e che il sistema di combattimento in alcuni frangenti non sembra reggere le ambizioni del titolo. Non rimpiangiamo di essere arrivati alla fine, ma non possiamo dire di avere condiviso chissà quale esperienza sconvolgente con Babyface e il suo amico drone, anche a causa di una storia non proprio scritta benissimo. Certo, il sangue c'è, molte frattaglie della cultura undeground ci sono, ma alla fine sembra davvero di trovarsi di fronte a un miscuglio insapore, che lascia un po' il tempo che trova.

Midnight Fight Express è un picchiaduro molto particolare che segue un po’ tutti gli elementi classici del genere, inclusa la possibilità di raccogliere armi da terra e affrontare tonnellate di avversari contemporaneamente, ma introduce abbastanza nuovi elementi da portare una ventata d’aria fresca di cui forse il genere aveva bisogno. La relativa scarsità di tipi differenti di avversari da affrontare non è sufficiente a rovinare un’esperienza di gioco in realtà adrenalinica e, soprattutto, soddisfacente.

Fashion Police Squad is an incredibly silly shooter hearkening back to the original DOOM in its design, while also taking into account some more modern sensibilities. While the combat does suffer from a lack of choice, the tight platforming and hilarious premise does make up for it somewhat.

Un FPS gratuit de qualité et sur lequel s'amuser pendant des heures durant, ça existe. Alliance of Valiant Arms nous le prouve aujourd'hui avec un shooter qui se rapproche sensiblement des grosses licences du genre. Si les free-to-play peuvent encore provoquer une certaine réticence chez bon nombre de joueurs, ce modèle économique tend à se développer et commence réellement à faire de l'ombre aux éditeurs leaders, notamment grâce à ce genre de jeux et au contenu qu'ils proposent. Attention toutefois, il vous faudra jouer longuement avant de pouvoir accéder à des armes un peu plus diversifiées et équipements en tout genre.
