Rainbow Six 3 is an extremely fun game that takes the basics gameplay of Ghost Recon that had everybody hooked last year and dresses it up with prettier graphics and lots of extra functionality. The co-operative gameplay options are outstanding and set the bar quite high for every online shooter on the way to Xbox including the mighty Halo 2. I enjoyed RS3 for hours at a time even though on the surface it just looks like a stripped down version of the PC game that came out months ago. But the game just keeps drawing you in with one feature or another until you're completely under its spell. As soon as you bored with giving voice commands to AI, you can hop online and play cooperatively. When you don't want to be friendly anymore you can stay online and cap anybody that's not you. When you're sick of that, you can go back to the solo offline game and perfect your command skills. You're first person shooting the whole time but you're loving it in different ways as often as you like. Relationships with real people should be that way, not videogames. This is one of the top Xbox Live games of 2003. Even if you have Return to Castle Wolfenstein in hot rotation, clear some space on your calendar and in your library for Rainbow Six 3.

Hunter the Reckoning Redeemer is a fun game that definitely should be played with friends. Of course, every game is more fun playing with buddies whether in person or online (now there's and idea!), but really this is the way Redeemer was meant to played. It's an upgrade over the original, but I'm not sure if it's enough of a boost to justify another purchase if you're not a true diehard fan of Hunter the Reckoning. The game does what it set out to do; it just wasn't trying to do too much more than the original Hunter the Reckoning. Improved visuals and new goodies certainly count, but there's a next level for this series that Redeemer just doesn't reach. Improving on the Gauntlet multiplayer concept was one thing with the original Hunter, but now that we've seen they can do it, there needs to be more.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies isn't a bad game, but it's far from great. If you were to picture the game's progression as a line graph, it would start as a shallow incline and then level out for the remainder of the game. Simply put, the game is very repetitive, and there aren't any landmark moments or climaxes to diversify the gameplay in any significant matter. And then there's the end of the game - which I'll remain mum on -- which really feels like a tacked-on segment, and is just plain silly. But what GBTG has going for it is some really great presentation; the storybook cutscenes, graphics, and sounds are very well done, and the simple controls make it a game that can be simply picked up and played by anyone. Is that enough to make the game a must-play? Not really. We recommend renting it first and deciding for yourself if being grabbed the ghoulies is something you enjoy.

The third incarnation of Tantalus' racing engine is definitely the team's best, and it's great to see that the team injected a lot of what was blatantly missing from its previous two racers. While it's not the best rally racer on the Game Boy Advance (the little seen Colin McRae still has this one beat in gameplay), Top Gear Rally is a very enjoyable racer that might be a little light in customization, but it makes up for it in all the tracks and challenges that you have to race through. There's an excellent amount of racing to be had here.

There is little left to say, except that you should already own both of these. And if you don't, Rockstar has just made it easier and cheaper to do. Now, do the smart thing and buy this PS2 bundle, for God's sake. The only reason you might hesitate is if you own an Xbox, in which case, by paying $10 more, you can acquire the bundle with slightly enhanced graphics, shinier stuff and hands that look less like G.I. Joe's Kung Fu grip. Scoring this game, I should add, is a weird thing. Especially when it comes to scoring two games with one overall score. I have used the highest score of the two games, because both games together, at this price, logically and by all other means, warrant it.

If you didn't like the first one, there's probably nothing new or different enough to pull you in this time. The love story adds some dramatic depth to Max's haunting story, and somehow makes what's going on more important and interesting. Wreaking havoc is nice, but it's great to also have a love interest complicating things, and Mona Sax is definitely up to the task. The visuals are excellent, the voice work is superior to what we usually get dealt in the action genre, and I only wish the game was a bit longer. A lot longer actually, but it's more because this kind of game is such a rare find than because that find is relatively meager.

If you liked Grand Theft Auto and Twisted Metal, it's pretty likely that you'll enjoy Roadkill. The game is wide-open, the areas are fun to explore, and there are some truly funny moments along the way. One thing to note, though: this game earns all of its M-rating. It's a capital M. There is more gore, rough language, and general disrespect for humanity in this game than in most prisons. If you go in with your eyes open or (God help us) even enjoy some of these things, then it can be bloody good fun. While its story and graphics lack pizzazz, Roadkill has something for everyone: action fans, racing fans, collection freaks, and serial killers can all find fulfillment here.

BloodRayne is not going to change the videogame industry, It has its problems -- some technical shortcomings here and there, some camera oversights and the occasional level layout difficulty, but I have to admit that I enjoyed playing through the 3D action title; that it delivered a fun little ride while it lasted. There's a good amount of entertainment to be had controlling BloodRayne through a series of varied locals while ripping through enemies in orgies of bloody fights. The borrowed "bullet time" effects are equally well done and have a real place in the game; there are lots of moves and weapons to be learned, acquired and utilized at the peril of the disgusting foes; and the visuals manage to impress on many levels, from the damage models in place to the detail in the architecture, dynamic lighting effects, cloth physics and more. This is not a bad game. But don't confuse it for a 3D adventure. So long as gamers go in knowing that -- expecting fights and gore versus puzzle solving and a deep, engaging quest of some sort -- they should come away happy in spite of its quick play through and lack of originality. Worth a rental at the very least.

Like every game from EA, it's only online on the PS2, so if you have multiple systems, that's the one to get as other than that feature (or missing feature as your case may be) the game is pretty much identical across the board. Thanks to Live's controls and in-your-face gameplay, it's one of the better basketball games to hit the cyber court this year, even if it is more of a two-player arcade game, rather than a sim. Any way you look at it though, the game is fun, even if it does have some flaws that keep it from the top of the list.

UFO: Aftermath is in a lot of ways, very much the same as X-COM: UFO Defense. Unfortunately, it was only partly like it, with less of the features and less strategy. While the interface is arguably better than X-COM all around, compared to other games made these days, it's lacking in style and functionality. I think a lot of these interface and order problems have to do with the decision to go both turn-based and real-time together. While it was certainly a noble attempt, it just didn't work together as well as it might have. I think this could have been a great game either with a pure action point turn-based system like the old one or straight real-time with a pause and give orders feature. While Aftermath isn't a bad game, and certainly has some wonderful and fun ideas, it just doesn't compare to other squad based tactical games I've played lately like Silent Storm (turn-based) or Commandos 3 (real-time). If the strategy and options between missions had been more in-depth and creative than the original, my opinion or this game might have been better. After such a long and arduous road of development for this game, I was hoping for a more polished piece of software. Where they should have took leaps forward, they fell back or sidestepped. Sadly, even without giving it the tough task of direct comparison to its predecessor, UFO: Aftermath comes up a bit short.
