Outlaw Golf is a pretty good game. The presentation and humor take it a long way and there is some longevity in completing the many tasks. But you can't have a golf game that doesn't offer quality golf. And the course designs just don't work here. For a game that's supposed to be extreme, the courses are incredibly tame. This isn't a bad pick-up if you want a game with humor and girls with undulating bodies, but if you're looking for a great golf game to last you a few months, this is one to walk away from.

Moto GP is another fine addition to the Xbox racing library. While it doesn't offer the varied tracks of Rallisport Challenge, Moto GP does any racing fan proud. Filled with stunning lighting effects and several modes of play, this will help fill those lonely summer hours when few games are out there. Not only are there a ton of licensed riders to play as, but you can create your own racer as well. Plenty to come back for and plenty to enjoy. Add to this the ability to go online with fifteen other racers and Moto GP is a real winner.

Hunter is a joy. A true pleasure to play. I dream about this game. I don't have to stop to think "what game do I wanna play tonight," because I already know. It's all about the Hunter. The only downside is the length of the adventure, but even after getting through it once, I'm ready to go again. Hunter is what the latest Gauntlet needed to be but couldn't. When the next four-player slaughterfest comes out, it's Hunter they should be compared to, as it's truly the cream of the crop for the genre. If you have friends, get this game. If you don't have friends, buy a few and get this game.

The previous Army Men games seemed to have missed the mark but with Army Men RTS, 3DO caught a winner. Army Men RTS has hit on something -- it's serious, it's primal, it's wacky and it's fun, all at once. You get all the fun of RTS fundamentals combined with the kitsch appeal of plastic soldiers.

Hitz 2002 grabs you and sucks you in with its all-out frenzied gameplay style. The developers realized that it was everyone's dream to check the other team throught he glass and beat them senseless without penalty. They delivered on that. Sadly, the single-player experience wears thin pretty quickly, even with the Franchise mode and full NHL license. This is one of Midway's most common problems. Like an arcade game Hitz lacks long-term appeal, and without the threat of pay-for-play it can wear out quick. For me Hitz biggest appeal is its multiplayer mode. If you have enough friends to frequently play muliplayer with, it's definitely worth a buy in my book. There's just a certain satisfaction of slamming site Editor-in-Chief Matt Casamassina through the glass that can't be described. Trust me, you'll get the same enjoyment when you're beating your friends into a comatose sate too.

2002 FIFA World Cup suffers from the old "one step forward, two steps back" problem. The game controls, looks, and sounds better than FIFA 2002, but with only two modes and very few options it feels a whole lot more limited. Even the token Friendly mode seems more like an afterthought than a full-fledged game mode -- you actually have to select your stadium, time of day, and other settings in the options menu before you go into the Friendly mode. Strange. Like EA's own SSX Tricky, World Cup features "behind-the-scenes" FMV content. In the case of the GameCube version, you'll find three documentary featurettes about the World Cup, soccer in general, and the fans. It's nice that EA spent some time and money on giving gamers some background on what the tournament is all about, but I wish more time was spent on adding more gameplay modes instead of a handful of shortlived documentaries. Still, it's a neat little extra bonus that helps establish the game as the only official, licensed game of the World Cup. If you're getting swept up in the excitement surrounding the tournament and you're looking for a great soccer game to help you relive your favorite moments, you certainly can't do wrong with 2002 FIFA World Cup. Like its predecessor, it's a fun soccer game that delivers both single-player and multi-player action. But if it's longevity you want, go for last year's FIFA -- you can probably pick it up for a better price, too.

Goemon's GBA debut starts off slow, but gets better as you delve deeper into the game. Sadly, you can never quite shake the feeling that you've seen everything before -- but with more interesting characters and more original level design. As a part of the Goemon franchise, New Age is a bit of a disappointment. It's a competent sidescroller that shows glimpses of Konami's past genius here and there, but never comes close to the quality of the old SNES sidescrollers. I hope that after this brief trip into the future, Konami brings the Goemon franchise back to its roots or even re-releases the much more charming SNES Goemon games on GBA -- complete with 2-player link-up gameplay, of course.
