Dead or Alive 6, quindi, è un videogame tutt’altro che brutto, anzi, è davvero riuscito, ma c’è un unico problema: la somiglianza con il capitolo precedente. È vero che fa parte della stessa saga, ed è anche vero che, se Dead or Alive 5 : Last Round ha riscosso così tanto successo, vuol dire che la formula proposta da Koei Tecmo Games e dal Team Ninja era azzeccata, ma ciò avrebbe dovuto costituire un incipit per superare i propri limiti. Speriamo quindi che nei mesi a venire l’offerta proposta dagli sviluppatori si ampli ancora di più, trasformando il già ottimo titolo che è in qualcosa di più, degno di sostituire il predecessore.

Dead or Alive 6 has a great fighting system and a bunch of small extras that enhance the experience. Is it better than Dead or Alive 5? That's harder to determine. As it stands this is an awesome fighting game, but the character roster feels a bit light and the story is predictably rubbish. At least the games I played in the Online Ranked mode were incredibly solid, which is sure to please fighting game fans.

Dead or Alive 6 es un buen juego de lucha, aunque se muestra algo más desequilibrado que otras entregas de la serie. Detalles como la ausencia de modo Tag, la falta de opciones en los modos online o la simplificación del sistema de combate son los peores indicadores de un juego que, por otra parte, resulta muy divertido, ofrece multitud de posibilidades y que, posiblemente, mejore en los próximos meses, si Team Ninja sigue el mismo patrón que con anteriores juegos de esta misma serie.

Esta nueva edición del torneo de lucha más aclamado de Team Ninja nos ha parecido bastante continuista pero, a su vez, sigue siendo un sensacional juego de lucha 3D. Además, Dead or Alive 6 es un juego realmente completo y nos ofrece multitud de personajes con los que saltar al ring (aunque menos que los aparecidos en DoA5: Last Round), una generosa variedad de arenas, modos de juego para todos los gustos y muchas opciones de personalización para los personajes. Es un destacado representante del género.

Dead or Alive 6 tiene todas las papeletas para ser una de las entregas favoritas de los seguidores de la misma gracias a las diferentes mejoras jugables que modifican la forma de enfrentarse y defenderse del rival siendo a su vez muy accesible para los novatos que irán aprendiendo poco a poco todas las posibilidades de los combates. El plantel de personajes también es bastante decente ya que tiene muchos luchadores clásicos, pero también es cierto que solamente incluye dos nuevos luchadores lo cual se antoja un tanto escaso si tenemos en cuenta cuando se lanzó la quinta entrega y que parece que solamente se centran en crear y sacar DLCS cosméticos.

Dead or Alive 6 è un buon picchiaduro a incontri dalla giocabilità immediata e senza eccessivi fronzoli, ma che sembra mancare di qualcosa per spiccare il volo e, se non proprio eguagliare, almeno avvicinarsi alla concorrenza. Di fatto Team Ninja sembra essersi voluto accontentare di migliorare sensibilmente il comparto tecnico e rendere accessibile il gameplay a tutti con qualche modifica, anche a costo di sacrificare quel pizzico di tatticismo che non guasta mai in un titolo del genere. Per il resto pensiamo che una manciata di lottatori in più e qualche modalità extra per l’online avrebbero giovato rendendo il prodotto molto più bello e bilanciato.

Dead or Alive 6 makes a strong case for the franchise’s fundamental combat by making it easier to understand what sets it apart from other fighters, other than its infamous “jiggle physics.” The story campaign is disjointed but it and the other training modes serve as effective instruction for getting new players up to speed for online combat quickly, and the new Break Hold and Break Blow moves give you a way out even when you seem locked into an endless juggle of doom. It really needs to work on its online multiplayer options, though, since they’re currently skimpier than La Mariposa’s outfit.

Dead or Alive 6 è l’ennesima conferma di quanto il gameplay di questa serie riesca a essere incredibilmente divertente e particolarmente assuefacente. Quando si entra nel loop delle partite classificate, o se avete la fortuna di poter giocare in locale con amici/parenti, è davvero difficile staccarsi dal gioco. Tuttavia, le novità aggiunte a quest’episodio non mi sembrano particolarmente sconvolgenti e non riescono ad alzare l’asticella rispetto al già ottimo Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, disponibile già da qualche anno sulle macchine di questa generazione. Anche dal punto di vista grafico il salto non è sconvolgente, anzi. Se non avete ancora un Dead or Alive recente, vi consiglierei forse di buttarvi proprio sull’ultima edizione del 5. O quantomeno di aspettare una versione più completa di questo sesto episodio, che al momento risulta un po’ spoglio di modalità, non tanto per quel che riguarda il single player, dove però comunque perde il confronto con i principali esponenti della concorrenza, quanto sul versante online, dove al momento l’offerta è scandalosamente misera. Peccato, perché la qualità delle mazzate è davvero alta!

On aura beau regretter une manque de prise de risque, Dead or Alive 6 reste tout de même un épisode de très bonne facture. La formule ne fait que s’ajuster au nouveau public sans se dénaturer pour autant, tout en rendant le spectacle plus saisissant avec des « Ruées Fatales » qui ajoutent encore plus d’impact aux affrontements. Son accessibilité se traduit jusqu’aux différents modes de jeu comme les Quêtes DOA, qui plairont aussi bien aux néophytes qu’aux joueurs cherchant à perfectionner leurs acquis. L’aspect sulfureux, bien que faiblement amoindri, pourra toujours faire débat, mais les fans de la série retrouveront tous les ingrédients qu’ils adorent dans ce sixième opus, qui ne pêche finalement que par un manque de finitions, une histoire pénible et le sentiment très intense qu’il n’est qu’un socle, prêt à recevoir un montagne de contenu additionnel. En attendant, on retourne se mettre quelques mandales avec grand plaisir, et c’est là l’essentiel.

Dead or Alive 6 prova a capitalizzare lo straordinario successo della versione free-to-play del quinto episodio, ma senza troppa convinzione. Meno ammiccante rispetto al passato, il gioco punta sui contenuti di una struttura tradizionale, che include l'ormai classico story mode stratificato e un comparto multiplayer per il momento privo di opzioni importanti, nonché viziato da una qualità dei match altalenante, in maniera simile a quanto visto nella beta. Sul fronte del gameplay gli autori hanno pensato di optare per un approccio più accessibile, semplificato in alcuni frangenti ma ancora in grado di offrire combattimenti di un certo spessore, mentre la realizzazione tecnica presenta alcuni aspetti positivi nei dettagli dei personaggi, ma anche diverse concessioni alle origini old-gen della serie per quanto concerne gli scenari, dal design altalenante.

Ayane, Hayate, Hayabusa, Kasumi e Raidou, insieme a tutti gli altri iconici lottatori del Dead Or Alive sono tornati e lo fanno in grande spolvero. A distanza di oltre sette anni dal lancio dell’ultimo capitolo della serie questa nuova iterazione riesce ad essere una ventata d’aria fresca per i fan più accaniti, che troveranno l’esperienza classica di Dead Or Alive affiancata ad alcune piccole ma incisive novità sul fronte gameplay. Come dicevamo, poco non significa scarso e Team Ninja dimostra, ancora una volta, di essere in grado di sfornare dei piccoli gioielli. Aldilà di una pallidissima trama, mero pretesto per introdurre gradualmente personaggi e meccaniche ai giocatori, in Dead Or Alive 6 ci sono spunti di qualità sotto molti fronti, dal comparto grafico al gameplay. Il comparto online sembra ben funzionante, seppur permangano a tratti alcuni problemi che il titolo continua a trascinare con se sin dai tempi di Dead Or Alive 3, ma in ultima istanza nulla di irreparabile. Se siete fan dei picchiaduro e il button mashing è una pratica che osteggiate con tutte le vostre forze, questo è sicuramente il titolo per voi!

Dead or Alive 6 suffers from a few setbacks that prevent it from being a definitive step up from its predecessor: the story is (still) weak, costumes are an absolute pain to unlock if you’re unlucky and the DLC model is as atrocious as ever. Really, it’s a similar problem I noted back when I reviewed My Hero One’s Justice: you’ll stick around for the multiplayer and avoid everything else. The only difference is that you’re not subjected to a demoralizing grind in that one. Fortunately, it does everything else quite well. The visuals are fantastic, the game itself is very accommodating to newcomers, and the fighting is thrilling and has enough depth to keep a more experienced fan’s attention. Though I’m not sure if DoA6 is the game that fans expected after a seven-year wait in the end, I can firmly say it still serves up a fulfilling experience — fanservice and all.

Dead or Alive 6 è un gioco divertente, che però fatica a reggere il confronto con il capitolo precedente della serie, ancora oggi molto attuale. Arranca sul fronte del gameplay, che soffre l'inserimento di nuove meccaniche poco amalgamate col sistema di combattimento tradizionale. Non brilla per un comparto tecnico che non ha effettuato il balzo in avanti che ci si aspettava e per un'offerta contenutistica non all'altezza del prezzo richiesto per l'acquisto. Nonostante questo, è un titolo piacevole e capace di regalare diverse ore di intrattenimento, grazie alla buona qualità delle modalità single player e a una dose generosa di contenuti sbloccabili. Una volta metabolizzate le modifiche, il combat system permette di togliersi qualche soddisfazione grazie all'uso equilibrato dello stordimento e delle tecniche dell'indicatore devastazione e i due nuovi personaggi si inseriscono piuttosto bene all'interno del roster (online si trovano già diverse Nico). Il fatto che Dead or Alive 6 non sia stato nemmeno inserito fra i giochi del prossimo EVO,.in ogni caso, lascia intendere che online al momento non troverete una community particolarmente nutrita e agguerrita. Dati i trascorsi degli sviluppatori, in ogni caso, nei prossimi mesi assisteremo sicuramente a una graduale crescita dei contenuti della produzione. Basterà solo avere un po' di pazienza.

Dead or Alive 6 non evolve in particolar modo la formula del suo predecessore, non c’è alcun particolare passo in avanti sia per quanto riguarda il comparto tecnico sia per quanto riguarda modalità, personaggi e gameplay. L’unica caratteristica fresca del combat system, data dall’indicatore di devastazione, rischia di banalizzare eccessivamente il gameplay. Il sistema di combattimento, comunque, funziona ma è ben lontano dal competere con i migliori esponenti del genere. Ciononostante, il titolo di Team Ninja difficilmente deluderà i fan della serie ma cosa potrebbe attrarre un novizio all’avvicinarsi per la prima volta a Dead or Alive? Beh, se cercate un picchiaduro frenetico, scenografico e stracolmo di sexy donzelle poco vestite, questo gioco potrebbe tranquillamente fare al caso vostro.

Notre rendez-vous avec la créature façonnée par Koei Tecmo nous a laissé un arrière-goût d'inachevé. Nos yeux, tout d'abord, n'ont pas été subjugués par sa plastique quelque peu datée. Notre esprit, ensuite, a bien eu du mal à se captiver pour son histoire aussi inintéressante que hachée. Heureusement, nos mains ont vite retrouvé leurs bonnes habitudes nous menant vers une forme certaine de satisfaction grâce à un organisme toujours aussi compétitif. Ce nouveau Dead or Alive aurait pu être meilleur, mais il continue d'assurer aisément l'essentiel tout en insistant sur son côté à la fois spectaculaire et accessible. L'absence du Tag Battle reste néanmoins incompréhensible. Les plus patients attendront sûrement la version free-to-play, déjà annoncée, pour se faire un avis avant de signer.

Dead or Alive 6 is a solid new chapter in Team Ninja’s long-running fighting game series that has rarely been satisfied with just being “solid.” All of the groundwork that needed to be built here was built, but upon it was placed a mostly by-the-numbers experience that is too often just as frustrating as it is fun. While a reworking of the game could leave it in a much better place in the future (and on newer consoles), for now it’s a good release for people wanting more Dead or Alive as long as they don’t mind its value is limited.
