Dragon Quest Builders 2 is better than the original game in every possible way, introducing many quality of life improvements and fixing some of the biggest issues like the linear progression system and more. And with a simple yet engaging story, excellent exploration, crafting and building mechanics and multiplayer features, the game is an excellent title that no fan of the Dragon Quest series and sandbox games should pass on, even if they never played the original.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 est au-delà de nos espérances. Cette suite récupère l'essence du premier opus tout en corrigeant ses erreurs et en développant sa formule grâce à une liberté accrue. Voir les NPC vivre leur vie et participer aux constructions s'avère fun, voire grisant, surtout quand on arrive à l'aboutissement d'un gros projet. Avec des centaines d'objets, des salles variées et une surface de construction immense que l'on peut terraformer, pas sûr que vous en verrez le bout de si tôt ! Une incroyable ode à la créativité et à l'expérimentation que l'on vous conseille avec plaisir !

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a great follow-up to the original, placing you in the shoes of an amateur builder. The main story practically amounts to a fetch quest of acquiring skills and people, but that doesn't bring the game down much. Building takes the forefront, and it will definitely keep you busy.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 è un titolo che potrebbe piacere ad un numero elevatissimo di giocatori, anche con gusti diametralmente diversi. Può convincere gli amanti degli RPG non troppo complessi, solleticare l'attenzione di chi cerca un'avventura spensierata e longeva, estasiare senza mezzi termini gli amanti del genere sandbox. Se avete amato Minecraft difficilmente spenderete meno di 100 ore con Dragon Quest Builders 2; se invece Minecraft non vi è mai piaciuto, potreste comunque valutare di provare la produzione, perché ha molto altro da offrire rispetto al semplice sandbox. In verità quest'ultimo diventa centrale solo nella gestione delle proprie isole dei sogni, dove tutto sarà personalizzabile senza particolari problemi e dove si scatenerà la fantasia dei giocatori. Ma nel corso dell'avventura principale, il primo piano spetterà ai personaggi comprimari, alla trama e anche ai combattimenti: la meccanica sandbox qui sarà piuttosto un condimento importantissimo e il collante di tutti gli altri elementi. Dal punto di vista del genere videoludico, comunque, Dragon Quest Builders 2 rappresenta un nuovo termine di paragone, al netto di qualche imperfezione, il più delle volte trascurabile o comunque facilmente risolvibile in un secondo momento.
