Fast Racing Neo è un gioco che non si piega e non si spezza. Difficile, difficilissimo, è destinato soltanto ad un pubblico di giocatori esperti e che desiderano mettersi alla prova ripetendo decine di volte le stesse gare prima di riuscire ad ottenere la vittoria. Un titolo che sotto questo punto di vista sembra arrivare dal passato, ma che pesca nella modernità una componente tecnica di grandissimo valore, soprattutto in relazione ad una velocità e una fluidità dell'azione assolutamente inattaccabili. Chi ama F-Zero dovrebbe mettere da parte i preconcetti e apprezzare al contrario il lavoro del team tedesco, che pur con qualche sbavatura è riuscito a confezionare un racing game futuristico degnissimo e pienamente raccomandabile.

Fans who enjoyed the F-Zero series won’t want to pass up FAST Racing Neo. While a bit more difficult than the classic Nintendo series, most of the core gameplay is very similar while adding a couple of new mechanics. While the multiplayer is a bit lackluster in customization, there’s a lot of single player racing to challenge players for quite a while. Fans of fast-paced racers won’t want to miss this one.

Fast Racing Neo es un título majestuoso en todos sus sentidos y nos parece un ejemplo perfecto de lo que se puede llegar a plasmar en un juego desarrollado en exclusiva para Wii U. ¡Y encima es digital! Un seguidor espiritual excelente de obras maestras añoradas como F-Zero, Wipeout o Extreme G entre otras muchas, y una franquicia a seguir muy de cerca de ahora en adelante. Un nuevo referente dentro de un género, desgraciadamente, olvidado.

Fast Racing Neo non prende in giro nessuno: è F-Zero con le astronavi di WipEout e dei menu particolarmente poco ispirati. Ma chissenefrega, fondersi le sinapsi lungo le sue chicane retro-futuristiche e sentire la necessità fisica di imparare a memoria i tracciati, per poi sverniciare gli avversari è una goduria a cui nessuno, tra chi apprezza il genere, potrà resistere. Quello che è più importante è avere bene in mente quello che si andrà a comprare per 14,99 Euro: un gioco volutamente vecchio nell’offerta e nei valori produttivi, ma divertente e affascinante come pochi altri.

Per quanto profondamente ispirato a mostri sacri del genere, sarebbe ingiusto valutare Fast Racing: Neo con lo stesso metro di giudizio adoperato per quei titoli più blasonati. Il team di sviluppo di Shin'en è costituito da appena cinque persone, e non stentiamo a credere che il budget stanziato per il progetto sia decisamente più contenuto rispetto a quanto messo a disposizione da Sony e Nintendo per molti dei capitoli di Wipeout e F-Zero pubblicati in passato. Al modicissimo prezzo di 14,99 euro gli utenti Wii U potranno vedere saziata la loro fame di racing game futuristici grazie ad un prodotto sviluppato con passione, competenza e attenzione per il dettaglio. Un modello di guida convincente e peculiare, seppur parzialmente derivativo, e un comparto tecnico non perfetto ma indubbiamente di ottimo livello, giustificano tutto l'entusiasmo per un titolo sul quale in pochi avrebbero puntato. Speriamo quindi che Nintendo sappia sfruttare a dovere il talento e le capacità del team tedesco anche in futuro, e che il brand di Fast Racing possa continuare a crescere in maniera decisa, proprio come avvenuto tra questo capitolo e il predecessore per Wii. Chi vi scrive non può che consigliarvi serenamente l'acquisto, per un prodotto che arricchisce in maniera sensibile l'offerta della stagione invernale Wii U. E che riaccenderà sicuramente gli animi di quel sonaro e di quel nintendaro ormai persi nei pomeriggi di un tempo lontano.

PlayStation 4, Xbox One: Schleicht euch! Die schnellste Konsole der aktuellen Generation heißt Wii U. Zumindest gibt es das mit Abstand schnellste Spiel seiner Ära derzeit nur auf ihr. Der Verlauf der Kurse ist nicht der originellste, das Geschwindigkeitsgefühl nimmt in höheren Klassen nur unwesentlich zu und viele Spielinhalte zitieren namhafte Vorlagen, anstatt dem futuristischen Rennsport einen eigenen Stempel aufzudrücken. Das alles spielt aber eine untergeordnete Rolle, wenn man den futuristischen Boliden auf Beschleunigungsstreifen drückt, Boostperlen aufliest und mit halsbrecherischer Geschwindigkeit an den Stampfern haushoher Mechs vorbei rauscht. Die Geschwindigkeit, die fehlenden Waffen, die Funktionsweise der Luftbremsen: Fast Racing Neo erinnert ja eher an ein F-Zero als an WipEout und Co. – auf einer Nintendokonsole sowieso. Und tatsächlich ist das Spiel ein hochkarätiger Ersatz für die Abwesenheit der bekannten Serie. Wer hier das erste Mal den Boost reinhaut, kann die akute Abwesenheit namhafter SciFi-Renner jedenfalls hervorragend verschmerzen!

The Wii U already has one of the best racers of this generation and now it has yet another with FAST Racing Neo. Taking notes from other futuristic racers, the gameplay is rather simple, while still feeling unique with the phase system. Though the steep difficulty may make it less accessible to some gamers, FAST Racing Neo looks fantastic and performs very well in action, making this one game to not let race past you.

Fast Racing Neo is a grueling, rewarding racer. The temptation to chuck a controller across the room after instantly jumping from first to last will likely strike a handful of times, and it's a bit thin on customization options, but when all of its high notes line up, Fast Racing Neo is an exhilarating, devilishly grueling game that absolutely pulses with energy.

Si Fast Racing Neo était sorti en version boîte, il aurait déjà été presque honorable. Tant dans son contenu que dans ses mécaniques, sa finition et sa BO électrisante. Alors là, franchement, sur l’eShop, pour 15 euros, il remplit très largement son office. Alors, oui, ça ne remplacera jamais la richesse ni la profondeur d’un F-Zero, mais en attendant, les sensations sont là et elles sont sacrément bonnes.

Fast Racing Neo es un juego de carreras de naves, pero ante todo es una muestra del potencial de Wii U cuando se le quiere sacar punta. Un juego que consta de pocos modos de juego pero muy efectivo, difícil y que sirve para acompañar a Xenoblade Chronicles X como grandes apuestas en Nintendo. Solo que en este caso, con un precio envidiable y en modo descarga. Si recordáis con cariño F Zero y Wipeout, a por él, sin pensarlo.

Vendu à petit prix en dématérialisé, Fast Racing Neo remplit son contrat : celui de proposer aux joueurs une alternative à ce F-Zero que les fans attendent depuis si longtemps. Son contenu est plutôt léger et le jeu n'est pas franchement joli, mais on s'amuse énormément. Parfaitement fluide, le jeu de Shin'en propose des courses complètement dingues que l'on vit à fond, du début à la fin. Et comme le titre est très nerveux et repose sur un gameplay simple mais solide, il est difficile de bouder son plaisir. Alors pour patienter encore un peu, on lancera avec grand plaisir Fast Racing Neo pour oublier notre peine.
