Overall, this game is a great improvement over the original. There is a ton more content and things that did not go well in the last game were addressed. This is a prime example of improving a franchise from one game to the next. If they keep this up, this will become one of the best — if not the best — anime games ever.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 è riuscito a fare egregiamente ciò che ci aspettavamo: prendere la formula vincente del primo capitolo, migliorarla sotto tutti i punti di vista e darle nuovo lustro con un comparto tecnico ancor più curato. La storia funziona, le missioni secondarie sono tante e ben strutturate e Conton City diventa posto di incontro tra giocatori di tutto il mondo. Le meccaniche RPG centrano il bersaglio così come il combat system, appagante e spettacolare grazie a una dinamica delle collisioni migliorata e i 60 fotogrammi al secondo sempre granitici, con l'unico neo della telecamera talvolta ingestibile. Dimps ha proseguito sulla strada giusta facendo di Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 non solo il perfetto videogioco destinato agli amanti dell'opera di Toriyama, ma un titolo completo a cui dovrebbero guardare tutti gli appassionati di picchiaduro.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 had a lot to live up to for fans of the franchise after the success of its predecessor, which Dimps has mostly managed to do. Even though the overall structure of the game is not a radical change from the first, the mix of movie villains really has helped to provide a fresh take on the classic story to go along with a number of other little improvements. While the game may not be for everyone, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 offers yet another satisfying experience for Dragon Ball fans that is not one to be missed.

Siamo dunque arrivati al “verdetto finale”. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 è un titolo valido che omaggia egregiamente la saga? Decisamente sì. Il picchiaduro di Bandai Namco e Dimps offre un’esperienza di gioco a 360 gradi che accontenta sia gli appassionati storici che coloro che non si sono mai avvicinati prima di oggi ad un titolo di Dragon Ball. La razza del personaggio non limitata al solo aspetto fisico, i 60 frame per secondo, una grafica molto buona, cutscene di alto livello e un mondo di gioco completamente esplorabile ricco di missioni, sotto-missioni ed incarichi rendono questo Xenoverse 2 un titolo da non farsi scappare assolutamente. Ma non tutte le Sfere del Drago evocano draghi buoni. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 soffre di piccole mancanze dovute ad un roster un po’ povero e “incompleto”, e non è perfettamente ottimizzato nella gestione delle inquadrature, che lasciano disorientati negli scenari stretti. Nel complesso però non possiamo che apprezzare l’impegno profuso dagli sviluppatori, che sono riusciti a creare un picchiaduro completo con tante caratteristiche ed elementi personalizzabili che lo rendono un titolo da vivere appieno. Non ci resta a questo punto che aspettare uno Xenoverse 3 (o qualcosa di simile), che partendo dalle solide basi poste da questo capitolo, potrebbe rivelarsi il videogioco di Dragon Ball definitivo.

Attendu au tournant, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 ne déçoit pas. S'il est indéniablement moins profond qu'un véritable jeu de baston estampillé DBZ, il poursuit avec talent la voie tracée par le premier épisode. Bien plus complet et agréable que son prédécesseur, il devrait satisfaire sans mal celles et ceux qui ont aimé Xenoverse. Si certains éléments ont été recyclés, on sent tout de même que les développeurs ont mis les bouchées doubles pour optimiser le gameplay, la partie technique et surtout l'intérêt des diverses activités. Alors oui, dans l'esprit, c'est un Xenoverse bis et beaucoup seront peut-être surpris de retrouver, dans les grandes lignes, le même jeu. Mais lorsqu'on gratte la surface, on se rend compte des multiples améliorations. Les combats, bien que simplifiés, ont une classe folle, l'animation ne faiblit jamais et on plonge durant des heures, dans Conton City, sans pouvoir en sortir. Et du coup, on se met à rêver d'un troisième épisode encore plus abouti.

Pur con i suoi difetti, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 si è rivelato un buon seguito del gioco uscito lo scorso anno. Crediamo che gli sviluppatori abbiano preso la giusta strada, andando a migliorare alcuni dei problemi del primo capitolo ed enfatizzandone invece i pregi. Siamo ancora lontani dalla perfezione dei capitoli per PlayStation 2, ma non possiamo assolutamente lamentarci di questo secondo capitolo alternativo della saga.

Fun comme rarement, surtout pour les fans de la licence, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 nous a globalement convaincu. Bien qu'il pêche dans sa partie technique et qu'il nous propose un mode histoire en de nombreux points similaire à l'épisode précédent, il permet surtout aux inconditionnels du manga de Toriyama de passer un excellent moment en compagnie de Goku et cie. Fluide, agréable à prendre en main et présentant un roster assez conséquent, il a l'intelligence de gommer certains des défauts soulignés il y a un an et demi. Un véritable hommage à l'oeuvre originale, il joue la carte du fan service à fond et l'assume pleinement.

L'ambition affichée par Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 est admirable, et bien qu'il soit truffé de petits défauts irritants, le titre parvient à offrir aux fans de la saga un univers authentique dans lequel se plonger durant de nombreuses heures. Bien qu'aucun élément de ses aspects brawler et jeu de rôle ne s'avère individuellement complexe, ils se montrent toutefois assez surprenants dans leur ensemble lorsque vous faites progresser votre personnage, et assez prenants pour que vous ne délaissiez pas le jeu de si tôt.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 adotta in pieno soluzione del “more of the same”. Il nuovo titolo di Dimps pesca a piene mani dal suo predecessore, senza nemmeno nasconderlo troppo, e lo eleva all’ennesima potenza, risaltandone gli aspetti chiave che tanto lo avevano fatto apprezzare dai fan dell’opera originale. A partire da un hub più grande e capiente, passando per le tantissime missioni disponibili e un gameplay che continua ad astenersi da tecnicismi. La mancanza di novità dà la sensazione che Xenoverse 2 sia una piccola evoluzione del primo capitolo e poco più: è rimasto quel picchiaduro frenetico e accessibile che strizza l’occhio ai giochi di ruolo. Sfortunatamente, anche il lato tecnico è rimasto lo stesso, risultando obsoleto e, visto il passaggio definitivo alle nuove console, abbastanza deludente. L’alto livello di fan service farà senza dubbio felici tutti coloro che apprezzano il lavoro di Akira Toriyama (è innegabile che sparare a tutta potenza un Cannone Garlick in faccia al nemico sia esaltante), ma gli amanti del picchiaduro in generale potrebbero scontrarsi con alcune limitazioni date dalle meccaniche fin troppo semplici. Probabilmente è il titolo giusto per chi approccia per la prima volta a questa serie e cerca qualcosa di diverso dal solito nel panorama dei videogiochi dedicati a Goku e compagnia. Coloro che hanno giocato al primo Dragon Ball Xenoverse, invece, si troveranno a dover fare i conti con una costante sensazione di già visto.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is hard to recommend as it's so similar to the first, but if you're new to Xenoverse and a fan of Dragon Ball I can heartily endorse this game. If you've played the first, well... It's still good, just not really a must-have.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the perfect game for someone who has never played Dragon Ball Xenoverse. It's little more than a remaster with an updated hub city, and, while that may be enough for some faithfuls, this game is much better experienced as a first-time DBX player. Untainted by the realization that you've done this all before, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be a good buy. Beyond that, Bandai Namco has essentially hit the rewind button.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is stuffed with all your favorite characters and painted with a lovely anime art style, but that’s all it has going for it. The plot of resolving time anomalies was conceptually fascinating the first time around, but it seems like the creative well dried up fairly quickly as the developers just reused the exact same mischievous two antagonists to go about altering events once more. Sure, there are differences to which scenes have been changed, but you can only replay the same old sequences so many times. It wouldn’t be so bad if the core mission structure for both the campaign and Parallel Quests weren’t so repetitive, as it usually involves taking down a set number of enemies or collecting items such as Dragon Balls. That tied with incredibly long load times into the hub area (at least on console) create nothing but a disheartening experience. With that said, the new Expert Missions mode is a fantastic addition to the formula, aiding to the decently entertaining cooperative scenarios. At the end of the day, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is, at best, a minimal improvement over its predecessor while sharing a lot of the same issues, but there’s just something so endearing about how it all came together.

Offenbar wurde Bandai Namco vom Erfolg seines letzten Dragonball-Spiels überrascht und will die Kuh schnell noch etwas melken. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 erinnert eher an ein üppiges Missions-Update als an ein komplett neues Spiel. Sicher, der Umfang stimmt und das Kampfsystem in großen Arenen fühlt sich nach wie vor erfreulich eigenständig an, zumal man schön mit den Attacken und Attributen des eigenen Kriegers experimentieren kann. Das alles wird aber stark durch das monotone, oft zu leichte Missionsdesign in Mitleidenschaft gezogen. Auch technisch könnte Dimps das Zeitreise-Abenteuer endlich in die Gegenwart befördern: Diesmal flutscht zwar alles ohne Bugs und in sauberen 60 Bildern, die bestenfalls zweckmäßige Comic-Kulisse erinnert aber eher an die Frühzeit der PS3. Meiner Meinung nach haben die zerstörerischen Geschichten von Akira Toriyama haben eine deutlich brachialere Inszenierung verdient! Gesellige Dragonball-Fans werden immerhin durch einige sinnvolle Online-Features entschädigt, alles in allem erreicht das angestaubt wirkende Gesamtpaket aber nur den unteren befriedigenden Wertungsbereich.
