WWE 2K16 takes a big step back towards being the exhaustive suite of wrestling wish-fulfillment it’s expected to be, but that, for me, is not the reason I’ll keep playing. I’ll keep defying gravity as Adrian Neville, and defying expectations as Dolph Ziggler, because WWE 2K16 is as close to a fusion of performance and competition as a wrestling game has ever gotten. That’s what I come to wrestling for, and that’s what 2K16 delivers.

WWE 2K16 refait un grand pas en arrière (pour le meilleur), ce qui lui permet de redevenir cette suite complète et pleine de possibilités que l’on attendait, mais cela n’est pas, pour moi, la raison la plus importante pour continuer à y jouer. Je continuerai à défier la gravité en incarnant Adrian Neville ou encore à répondre aux attentes des fans en tant que Dolph Ziggler, parce que WWE 2K16 est aussi proche que possible d’une fusion entre le show et la compétition qu’aucun autre joueur de catch ne l’est. C’est ce que j’attends du catch et c’est ce que 2K16 vous offre.

WWE 2K16 corrige todos los errores de su predecesor y se abre paso a codazos para hacerse un hueco entre los juegos de lucha. Marca el camino que debe seguir la compañía para, al igual que con la saga NBA, ir mejorando año a año hasta alcanzar la perfección. Clásico inmediato.

Si eres fan del wrestling tienes que tener WWE 2k16 en tu estantería, porque 2K ha hecho de esta saga el mejor juego hasta ahora visto de WWE; muchos personajes, más modos de juegos, inmensas posibilidades de creación y también con modo multijugador. Jugar con amigos será genial, podemos jugar hasta seis personas a la vez. Es el mejor juego de lucha wrestling en el mercado y este año no nos ha defraudado.

WWE 2K16 is a big improvement on the previous installment. MyCareer mode has been vastly improved to make for a far more interesting and rewarding experience, and the Stone Cold Showcase mode is worth the price of admission alone. The in-ring action is better than ever with the biggest roster ever, smarter AI and further improved match pacing, as well as no load times between entrances. The three-man commentary team shakes things up a bit too, and so does the inclusion of Good ‘Ole JR in the Showcase mode, but they are as limited and scripted as always. Despite some flaws that have haunted the series for many years now, WWE 2K16 shows great improvement in the series and continues to set the standard for wrestling games. Now, if I could just get General Manager Mode back!

Yukes, Visual Conecpts und 2K sind auf einem guten Weg. Man hat sich einiger mechanischer sowie inhaltlicher Kritikpunkte des letzten Jahres angenommen und bietet interessante Lösungsvorschläge an. Durch die endlich limitierten Konter bekommen die hinsichtlich der Tempovariationen sehr eng an den „echten“ Kämpfen liegenden Auseinandersetzungen eine neue taktische Ebene. Und mit den frischen Pin- sowie Aufgabe-Systemen hat man ebenfalls eine gute Richtung eingeschlagen, wobei das sich an UFC Undisputed 3 orientierende Submission-Minispiel ebenso Luft nach oben hat wie die schwankende Qualität der Wiedererkennung. Doch mit einem „Roster“ aus weit über 100 Athleten und einem breiten Spektrum an Matchtypen wird einem nicht so schnell langweilig. Der WWE-Universe-Modus wurde verfeinert, die Karriere hat ebenfalls einen Schritt nach vorne gemacht und bietet zahlreiche Entscheidungen bzw. Eingriffsmöglichkeiten, nervt allerdings auch auf Dauer mit den Mini-Interviews. Und für mich als älteren WWE-Fan ist die aufwändig inszenierte „Showcase“-Kampagne rund um Steve Austin zwar keine große Überraschung, aber dennoch die Kirsche auf der Sahne. Bleiben noch die Editoren, die dieses Jahr umfangreicher sind als je zuvor, aber auch mit einer nicht immer intuitiven Bedienung und mitunter fiesen Nachladezeiten auffallen. Langsam, aber sicher ist die WWE-Serie unter 2K-Führung wieder auf dem Weg zu alter Stärke.

WWE 2K16 è quello che doveva essere lo scorso anno WWE 2K15. Le modifiche apportate al gameplay donano maggiore tatticismo agli incontri e limitano in modo più tangibile quelli che erano difetti storici della serie. Contenutisticamente ci troviamo dinanzi il capitolo più imponente del franchise. MyCareer presenta una struttura nuova, finalmente funzionale e godibile anche se non ancora perfetta a causa di alcuni elementi che meritano di essere rivisti. WWE Universe rappresenta sulla carta infinite ore di gioco, mentre 2K Showcase viene danneggiato solo dall’eccessiva censura che un personaggio del calibro di Stone Cold Steve Austin non merita. Chiude il cerchio un roster enorme e un centro creazioni impressionante per profondità. I difetti non mancano, qualcuno potrebbe lamentarsi di un gameplay che resta ancorato al passato senza rivoluzionarsi, la realizzazione di alcuni lottatori può far storcere il naso e l’online va assolutamente rivisto. I fan della WWE però riusciranno comunque a trovare tante ore di divertimento con WWE 2K16.

Rendere ulteriormente tattica e ragionata una disciplina più atletica e spettacolare che puramente sportiva sembrerebbe un azzardo. Eppure, così facendo, WWE 2K16 riesce a simulare in modo insospettabilmente verosimile l'andamento di match di wrestling tra 120 lottatori diversi, ciascuno con le sue statistiche fisiche e le sue skill tecniche. Ovvio che, allo stesso tempo, ci si allontana sempre più dal concetto atavico e istintivo del “gioco della lotta”, che il carrozzone della WWE rappresenta nella sua forma più spettacolare ed esagerata. Anche perché quel gioco dura davvero poco soprattutto online, buggato e instabile com'è. In generale, la lenta trasformazione della serie prosegue con un passo avanti rispetto al capitolo precedente, ma è ancora lontana dai livelli dei WWE 2K passati. E dalle vette di quelli futuri, si spera.

Wrestling fans have been waiting for a truly great game for their sport of choice for years, if not decades. All that waiting has mostly paid off as WWE 2K16 is a strong game that can stand well with the genre's heavy-hitters without looking too out of place. WWE 2K16 isn't without its flaws, but it's the most feature-rich wrestling game to come along in a while, with a right massive roster, a good deal of likable modes and well-fleshed out main attractions in the domains of 2K Showcase and MyCareer.

Forse non è ancora il gioco di wrestling dei nostri sogni, ma è chiaro che la strada presa da 2K Sports e Yuke’s è quella giusta. Lo sviluppatore giapponese ha lavorato duramente per risolvere molti dei problemi che affliggevano WWE 2K15 e, anche se alcune scelte non convincono del tutto, in particolare l’affidare le sottomissioni a un mini-gioco mal bilanciato, il bersaglio si può dire centrato in pieno. WWE 2K16 è un titolo stracolmo di cose da fare, con alcune modalità davvero interessanti e un editor che permette di fare quello che volete, da nuovi lottatori a nuove arene, da tornei e personaggi a scenette d’ingresso per le vostre star. La modalità carriera è divertente e vi terrà impegnati a lungo, anche se qui forse un po’ di teatro in più, magari prendendo spunto proprio da quanto fatto con NBA 2K16, non avrebbe guastato. Sul ring il gioco è diventato molto più ragionato, più strategico ma, e questa è la cosa più importante, molto più divertente sia contro il computer che contro un amico. Insomma, tanti piccoli miglioramenti uniti a un roster praticamente infinito (e molti altri personaggi arriveranno attraverso DLC) fanno di questo WWE 2K16 un titolo consigliato agli amanti di questo spettacolare sport. Se anche voi volete picchiare fortissimo Enzo Amore, questa è l’occasione giusta.

Un po' come per i calcistici, di anno in anno gli appassionati di wrestling sanno perfettamente cosa aspettarsi dalla serie sviluppata da Yuke's: qualche esperimento qui e lì, nuovi personaggi e qualche ritocco alle modalità, elementi incastrati però fra vecchi difetti mai risolti, un gameplay ancora una volta legnoso e una generale incoerenza in termini di presentazione fra le superstar di nuova generazione e quelle riciclate dai passati episodi. In questo caso abbiamo un roster più ricco, un valido story mode con protagonista "Stone Cold" Steve Austin e qualche soluzione interessante per quanto riguarda i reversal, ma nulla di sostanziale. Parliamo ormai di un genere a sé, che si ama o si odia, e che difficilmente potrà coinvolgere chi non apprezza davvero tanto il prodotto WWE.

WWE 2k16 a corrigé en partie le tir avec ce deuxième opus de nouvelle génération. Le casting gagne en densité, l'outil de création est riche, le mode carrière s'épaissit et le titre propose d'une manière générale un gameplay encore amélioré par petites touches, dont la seule fausse note majeure vient du nouveau système de soumission extrêmement mal fichu. Autre point noir, la présence d'une seule histoire en mode showcase ouvre une nouvelle fois les vannes d'un business model riche en contenus téléchargeables, quitte à amputer légèrement le contenu d'origine. Sans mériter le statut d'épisode indispensable, WWE 2K16 est suffisamment consistant pour justifier son acquisition par les amateurs de catch en possession d'une console de nouvelle génération.

Autant ne pas y aller par quatre chemins : WWE 2K16 est le jeu qu'aurait dû être WWE 2K15. Le jeu met à disposition un roster conséquent et donne accès à une large gamme de modes de jeu et d'outils de création. De quoi s'occuper et s'amuser pendant les mois à venir en somme. Alors oui, la licence, qui repose toujours sur des bases établies à l'ère PS2, a besoin de grands travaux de rénovation. Malgré cela, les qualités de WWE 2K16 sont suffisamment nombreuses pour que le jeu ne laisse pas les fans avec l'impression d'être obligés de s'en contenter. Les développeurs ont tenu compte des remarques des joueurs et c'est un signe encourageant pour la suite. Et si quelqu'un de chez 2K, Yuke's, ou Visual Concepts lit ce texte, une mise à jour supprimant le système de soumission du jeu ne serait pas de refus.

WWE 2K16 es un paso en la dirección correcta, pero le sigue quedando bastante al juego para estar a la altura de las mejores entregas de la saga, y ya ni mencionemos de equipararse a los NBA 2K pero en el pressing catch. Al menos ya se han recuperado gran parte de los modos de juego y opciones de personalización de entregas anteriores, y el modo Showcase sigue siendo genial para los nostálgicos o para aprender parte de la historia de la WWE. Pero claro, el modo Mi Carrera sigue estando muy verde, y las mecánicas jugables en busca del «realismo» han mejorado, pero sigue habiendo problemas que no lo permiten ser divertido todo el tiempo. Técnicamente también queda mucho por mejorar para estar a la altura de las máquinas en las que se lanza el título, por no mencionar tener una sólida infraestructura online sólida para poder tener partidas a través de internet en condiciones. Así que, si sois fans de este «deporte» la entrega de este año es más recomendable que la del año pasado, pero sigue sin ser la experiencia de wrestling que los fans se merecen. Esperemos que para la edición de 2017 tengamos el gran juego que puede llegar a ser, pero al que todavía falta para llegar.

Alla fine dell'incontro onestamente siamo ancora indecisi se ad uscirne malconci ed al tappeto siano solo i wrestler di WWE 2K16 o anche i rispettivi giocatori... Rispetto al precedente episodio, indubbiamente ci sono stati dei passi in avanti e dei miglioramenti, ma d'altro canto le cose rimaste da sistemare sono ancora molte. I problemi tecnici, il comparto online non perfettissimo e l'alone perenne che ci fa pensare di essere poco rilevanti una volta saliti sul ring, sono di sicuro dei punti che necessitano di una decisa messa a punto. Molto meglio invece la struttura e la profondità degli editor, la gestione dei vari "campionati" e la customizzazione/crescita del proprio lottatore. Mancano forse alcune delle icone più importanti dei tempi andati, ma sono comunque presenti altri personaggi che potranno ugualmente smuovere il cuore dei vecchi fans (eh no, non stiamo parlando solo del piccolo Schwarzy-nator). Il lavoro fatto in quest'anno da Yuke's e 2K è sicuramente da apprezzare, ma non ci resta che attendere fino al prossimo episodio sperando che le cose riescano a migliorare (almeno stavolta) per il verso giusto.

The WWE video games were a bad installment away from becoming a laughing stock. Thankfully, WWE 2K16 introduced a strong new feature, as well as one of the best Showcase modes the franchise has ever seen. The MyCareer mode still needs a lot of work, but the basic premise is still one that can succeed. With the largest cast of wrestlers the franchise has ever seen, 2K and Yukes have done a solid job righting the WWE 2K ship. That being said, there is still a lot of work to be done.
