My Fantastic Ranch is a simple game that has you building and maintaining a ranch full of adorable fantasy creatures. It is easy to learn for children and adults, so this relaxing game is worth checking out if you like management titles like this.

The point-and-click genre is one that has fairly rigid foundations, with the bulk of games not straying too far from what we’ve come to expect over the years. With Children of Silentown, Elf Games and Luna2 have created a gorgeous dark world that looks marvellous and its unique puzzles are commendable, and although the narrative didn’t fully satisfy me, it’s one I would recommend adventure game fans suss out at some point.

Other than a couple of small technical issues, however, the game is very enjoyable. I especially loved the characters and their different roles in this quirky city. As an animal lover, I was immediately drawn in by the quest of saving Can Dog, and each time he slipped away or something happened to him, I let out loud outbursts of desperate yelps. While it is admittedly a bit short and the puzzles are anything but original, Boxville is a truly beautiful game about friendship and the importance of being nice to others, regardless of whether it is people or cans.

mooth controls, a varied and inclusive cast of characters, and a phenomenal amount of things to do make this such an easy 10/10 for me. The only downside I can think of is that it has an ending.

TAPE: Unveil the Memories is a pretty solid narrative story if you're into dark themes and exploring the subconscious.

Cannon Dancer: Osman is a game that can be completed in a short amount of time. It is action-packed, with tons of martial arts attacks and enemies to take on. The story doesn’t make much sense, so if a good story is important to you, you won’t find that here.

In a way Blacktail reminds me a lot of Fable: The Lost Chapters, a flawed game I love dearly, specifically in the way it places emphasis on your morality and then fails to follow through, narratively speaking. Like Fable though, Blacktail is an enjoyable experience despite its noticeable shortcomings. The exploration, the traversal interlinked with combat, and some humorous quests are in fact the brick house that stands strong. Blacktail does an admirable job building something unique of the bricks that came before, and most importantly captures the essence of what makes fairy tales so iconic…child murder.

Sail Forth’s simulation of ocean waves and its accessible approach to sailing are top-notch. But the rest of the world isn’t as meticulously realized, resulting in low-stakes tedium across your exploration of the high seas.

High On Life avait su piquer notre curiosité lors de sa présentation et il faut le dire, il parvient à transformer l’essai en proposant de belles mécaniques, certes déjà éprouvées, mais toujours recherchées, justifiées et mises en contexte dans un amour au jeu vidéo visible de la part des développeurs. Avec le travail considérable sur les dialogues, souvent tordants mais surtout présents en très grande quantité, le jeu parvient à nous embarquer dans son univers si tant est que l’on ne soit pas sensible aux injures et autres images salaces. Un humour noir, potache, en tant que point central du jeu et ne pas mettre entre toutes les mains, car assumant aisément son côté PEGI 18. On pourrait lui reprocher sa construction trop scolaire, mais parvenant tout de même à surprendre notamment lors des combats de boss, mais aussi, et surtout, l’absence de voix françaises et/ou de sous-titres plus gros, qui est certainement l’aspect qui lui nuit le plus. Alors, oui, le scénario est digne des plus grands nanards de ces vingt dernières années et n’est pas le FPS ultime pour les amateurs de Doom Eternal notamment, mais il nous propose la petite surprise de cette fin d’année, avec une expérience simple, sans limite, décontractée et décomplexée pour notre plus grand bien et pour ça, chapeau !
