Tirando le somme, questo Sonic x Shadow Generations ha decisamente superato le nostre aspettative. La seconda avventura dedicata a Shadow, che inizialmente poteva sembrare solamente un DLC, si dimostra qualcosa di ben più esteso, sia a livello di durata che a livello concettuale, unendo il meglio della boost era con idee prese dal nuovo corso di Sonic. Non può avere l’effetto “wow” che aveva nel 2011, ma stiamo comunque parlando di un nuovo capitolo 3D di Sonic davvero molto divertente da giocare. Il che non è affatto scontato, come ci insegna la storia di questo personaggio.

Sonic x Shadow Generations est une véritable lettre d’amour à la franchise, en modernisant un classique tout en y intégrant habilement Shadow. La dualité entre les gameplay 2D et 3D rend chaque niveau dynamique et plaisant, et l’histoire de Shadow apporte un vent de fraîcheur. Les fans de longue date y trouveront leur compte, même si la répétitivité des défis et quelques imprécisions dans le gameplay peuvent frustrer. Malgré cela, le jeu reste une expérience incontournable pour tous les amateurs de Sonic, avec une direction artistique et technique soignée.

Ys X Nordics stands as one of the best entries in the series, second only to the excellent YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. With a cast of charming characters, an engaging story, and fast-paced action gameplay powered by some interesting mechanics that force players to balance offense and defense, the franchise by Falcom has taken a decisive step forward, delivering a highly polished and satisfying experience

Difficile de ne pas être séduit par Ys X Nordics malgré une technique qui n'est pas forcément aux standards de 2024. L’histoire proposée maintient notre intérêt, on enchaîne les heures à parcourir ce monde généreux avec un gameplay complet et des mécaniques intéressantes bien intégrées à la formule historique. On retrouve la base Ys sur de nombreux aspects, mais Nordics apporte suffisamment de nouveautés et de modifications pour fédérer manette en main. Adepte du JRPG et amoureux du format à l’ancienne plus linéaire et au rythme soutenu, Ys X Nordics m’a conquis et me laissera de très bons souvenirs.

Nonostante non raggiunga i picchi qualitativi dell'ottavo episodio, Ys X Nordics rappresenta un capitolo di tutto rispetto per il franchise e, più in generale, un ottimo esponente del genere dei giochi di ruolo di forte stampo action. Il senso di libertà che proviene dalla navigazione dei mari del golfo di Obelia, unito al rinvigorente e veloce sistema di combattimento, danno vita ad un'esperienza di gioco senza troppi fronzoli, dotata di grande ritmo e di uno stile inconfondibile, che Falcom è riuscita a mantenere nel corso di trentasette anni di onorata carriera. Il prode Adol non sembra invecchiato di un giorno nonostante le diverse ere videoludiche che ha passato, e anche su PS5 porta il suo carico di entusiasmo, divertimento e azione frenetica. Peccato solo per un comparto tecnico piuttosto arretrato, che vanifica in parte l'ottimo lavoro svolto sul character design e sulla palette cromatica del gioco, mai così accesa e realistica, e per un progressivo assottigliamento degli elementi da gioco di ruolo in luogo di una deriva action sempre più pronunciata.

The best way to enjoy Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered is from the perspective of someone who wants to revisit an old game. If you’re expecting this remaster to correct the wrongs of the original or add even more content, then you’ll be sorely disappointed. As a remaster, it does the bare minimum of making the game run smoothly on a modern platform without changing too much of how the original game looks, sounds, and feels. As a game, Shadows Of The Damned definitely deserved a cult following. It’s eccentric blend of horror, rock and roll, and crass silliness isn’t for everyone, but this is the sort of art that must continue to flourish. There’s a bleak future where video games are just mass produced products, focused tested to provide the optimum profit for shareholders. Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture’s punk spirit raises multiple middle fingers to that, as their games have always been weird, bucking whatever is trendy and just making whatever they wanted to make. Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remaster probably won’t change your mind if you already have an opinion of the original game. But that it is still around today should make you ponder: wouldn’t it be nice if games with unconventional styles could still be made today and find an audience? It’s time that we give a damn about weird games. And Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered is hella weird.

There’s a lot to talk about with Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered. The wild world, the funny writing, the varied and tense gameplay, the rockin’ soundtrack, the silly characters, the serious moments, or the awesome sense of progression, just to name a few enjoyable things. It only took me about 8 hours to finish the game and most of that was in one sitting. I have only played Shadows of the Damned once at PAX East 2024 earlier this year and it was such a great demo, the full game delivered all of that and more. Add in the New Game Plus feature that lets you keep your late game upgrades or the optional gyro aiming, and you have an incredibly arcade-y experience that keeps you laughing and blasting for hours. The game launches on October 31st and I can’t recommend it enough. This is a punk rock gem that everyone can love.

An excellent string of missions that offer variety and flexibility come together to make the best Call of Duty campaign in many, many years. Black Ops 6 is a fantastic return to form for the series, allowing the designers at Raven to delve deep into their bag of tricks and keep you guessing at every turn. It successfully makes each chapter distinct from one another, whilst maintaining a strong level of quality across the board. Packing a thoroughly engaging story that gets better the longer it goes on, it exceeds expectations regarding level design and creativity, showing that when given the time to craft them properly, CoD campaigns still have what it takes to be up there with the best first-person shooters.

Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered è un piccolo lumino in un buio totale: il gioco di Suda51 ci ricorda quanto erano belle le perle del passato, quanto fosse giusto sperimentare e quanto non c'erano orpelli e stupide mappe immense senza significato. In passato si andava da punto A a punto B divertendosi nel mentre e godendosi la strada del viaggio. Il gioco non sarà perfetto, per carità, ma ha i suoi lati positivi che non sono offuscati minimamente da quelli negativi. Interessanti i miglioramenti, sebbene resti graficamente datato e manca totalmente (come sull'originale) il doppiaggio italiano, che lo ammettiamo, sarebbe stata una chicca non da poco.

Cela faisait bien longtemps que l'on attendait de retrouver un jeu dans la veine du sympathique Sonic Generations. Avec Sonic X Shadow Generations, Sega nous sert à la fois le remaster de cet épisode atypique, tout en apportant du contenu totalement inédit, pour un résultat qui satisfera sans problème les fans de la franchise. Ils pourront néanmoins regretter une durée de vie plutôt faible concernant Shadow Generation, tandis que les joueurs qui n'avaient pas eu l'occasion de faire le jeu original de 2011 (ou qui l'ont oublié) auront largement de quoi faire, pour ce qui reste certainement un des meilleurs titres de la franchise de ces dernières années.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 signe le retour d’une des séries phares de la licence au premier plan, et Treyarch délivre un épisode qui arrive à nous faire vibrer et rager en quelques minutes d’intervalle. On tient l’une des campagnes les plus solides depuis pas mal d’années, avec un zombie qui cumule retour aux sources et ajout de nouveautés satisfaisant. Le multijoueur, fer de lance de la série, est séduisant sur le papier, mais le fait de retrouver les problèmes annuels habituels dès le lancement du jeu gâche un peu la fête. On sait que ce sera corrigé, comme à chaque fois, après quelques patchs, mais on aimerait avoir une expérience propre d’office et ne pas avoir à attendre. Dans l’ensemble, CoD BO 6 reste un bon opus, mais il aurait pu franchir un cap sans difficulté avec un peu plus de soin.
