Nine Noir Lives is a great and surprisingly substantial game overall, earning a place among the ranks of other classic adventures of its kind. I played for about twenty hours (although it would surely have been less if I had used hints or a walkthrough) and enjoyed almost all of that time, especially the witty sense of humour and the super-cute characters. Has the premise been done before? Yes. Is the story original and new? Nope. Still, Nine Noir Lives gives it a unique, whimsical spin with its Shakespearean feline motif and manages to entertain and satisfy all your adventure game needs.

Contrairement au portage PC tristement infecté de The Last of Us Part 1 à sa sortie, celui de The Last of Us 2 Remastered se présente comme une superbe partition sans presque aucune fausse note, à part quelques textures, une profondeur de champ en deçà du reste, et de très rares bugs. Nous avons donc droit ici à une version PC de très haut calibre d’un point de vue technique, couplée à un support extrêmement complet de différents schémas de contrôle et une accessibilité poussée au maximum. Si vous n’avez jamais joué à Part 2, vous allez ici être définitivement gâtés, même si vous disposez d’une configuration modeste. De même, les joueurs dépourvus d’une PS5 Pro pourront profiter de la meilleure version du chef d’œuvre de Naughty Dog, sauf si le ticket d’entrée à 50 euros est pour vous rédhibitoire. Quoi qu’il en soit, Nixxes et Iron Galaxy nous régalent d’un portage d’une grande qualité, avec même quelques sympathiques bonus, et surtout l’absence d’un compte PSN obligatoire. On espère que les prochaines productions de PlayStation à venir sur PC seront du même niveau !

The Last of Us Part II Remastered su PC The Last of Us Part II Remastered su PC rappresenta uno dei migliori porting da console che abbiamo visto negli ultimi anni. Naughty Dog, Nixxes Software e Iron Galaxy hanno creato una conversione che non solo mantiene intatto il DNA visivo e narrativo dell'originale, ma lo esalta attraverso le potenzialità dell'hardware PC. L'ottimizzazione è generalmente eccellente, con una scalabilità che permette di godere dell'esperienza su configurazioni di diverse fasce. Le nuove tecnologie implementate, come DLSS 3 e FSR 3.1, ampliano ulteriormente la platea di potenziali giocatori. I piccoli problemi riscontrati non intaccano minimamente la qualità complessiva di un'opera che, anche su PC, si conferma come uno dei più grandi capolavori videoludici degli ultimi anni. L'aggiunta di nuovi contenuti per la modalità No Return, disponibili dal day one, rappresenta inoltre un valore aggiunto significativo sia per i neofiti che per chi ha già vissuto l'avventura su PlayStation. Se siete possessori di PC e non avete ancora vissuto l'intensa esperienza di The Last of Us Part II, questa versione Remastered rappresenta indubbiamente il modo migliore per farlo. Se invece avete già completato il gioco su console, la versione PC offre sufficienti migliorie tecniche e nuovi contenuti da giustificare un ritorno a Seattle. In definitiva, The Last of Us Part II Remastered per PC si conferma come un punto di riferimento per i porting da console, alzando l'asticella qualitativa per tutte le future conversioni. Premier bébé de Compulsion Games sous l’aile de Microsoft, South of Midnight nous offre une aventure plaisante, bénéficiant d’une direction artistique qui se démarque de l’industrie avec un style particulier, mais pour autant très joli et la présence de stop-motion apportant un vrai cachet. L’ensemble est magnifié par une sublime bande son et son originalité dans sa façon de se dévoiler. En revanche, on regrette une structure assez répétitive et des mécaniques de gameplay aussi bien dans l’exploration que dans les combats bien trop conventionnelles. Ce n’est pas pour autant mauvais, mais on aurait souhaité en voir un peu plus.

South of Midnight is a straightforward but well-executed action-adventure game on the surface, with a simple but satisfying mix of combat and platforming. It’s focused, filling out its 12-hour runtime nicely without ever dragging or relying on unnecessary padding. Beyond those basics, however, is a certain heart and artistry that elevates the whole package, inviting you to peer into the deep American South through its folklore, nature, and culture. It might not be the most profound exploration of family life, but it’s delivered in ways that feel authentic. From its striking art style to the evocative tunes that bring big story moments together, Hazel’s journey is a captivating one no matter where you come from.

South of Midnight Il successo principale di South of Midnight è nella sua identità unica. Il nuovo lavoro di Compulsion Games mette in scena una moderna favola in stop-motion dai toni oscuri, che attinge dal fascino misterioso (e spesso tragico) del folklore del Profondo Sud degli Stati Uniti. La certosina cura riposta nella presentazione artistica (un plauso enorme alla meravigliosa colonna sonora) tuttavia non trova una realizzazione altrettanto scrupolosa nell'impianto ludico. Sebbene la struttura lineare sia rassicurante ed accogliente, purtroppo il titolo non decide mai di esplorarne tutte le potenzialità lasciando spesso con l'amaro in bocca. Al netto dei propri limiti, South of Midnight è un'esperienza ricca e significativa che merita di trovare un piccolo spazio nei cuori dei videogiocatori. South of Midnight è una ventata d'aria fresca, tra colori sgargianti, stile grafico unico e musiche dal ritmo pazzesco. Vi emozionerà e terrà col fiato sospeso sino alla fine, percorrendo splendide location che son una gioia per gli occhi e con una storia unica, quasi una fiaba, ma con sfumature dark.

Compulsion Games, les petits génies derrière We Happy Few, reviennent avec South of Midnight, une aventure à la croisée des mondes entre folklore du Sud des États-Unis et exploration de traumatismes passés. Un jeu qui mélange action, plateforme et réflexion, porté par une direction artistique renversante et une écriture subtile. Entre des bayous hantés, des créatures mythiques tatouées et une héroïne qui manie aussi bien la répartie que la magie, vous risquez d'être embarqué dans un périple aussi fascinant que mélancolique. Prêts pour le tissage ?

South of Midnight is a game about growth, understanding, and learning that the only way to navigate this scary world is through curiosity and empathy. The gameplay leans on well-worn action-adventure genre tropes but rewards you with rich Southern culture. Like a rusty family heirloom, I cherished the experience despite its flaws. South of Midnight is an early dark horse contender for game of the year and easily earns our Editors' Choice award.

Pour reprendre l’idée du titre de ce test, The First Berserker: Khazan est un jeu théâtral avec une bonne mise en scène et des affrontements spectaculaires, mais où le reste n’est qu’accessoire. Bien qu’il puisse être qualifié de Soulslike, à notre avis Khazan ne possède pas la profondeur, ni le sens du détail nécessaire pour en être véritablement un, que ce soit dans son histoire, son univers ou son exploration. Le jeu se révèle plutôt être un très bon RPG d’action ultra-exigeant, qui peut presque tendre vers le Hack’n Slash, révélant une maîtrise d’une grande finesse dans la gestion de ses combats. Le tout dans une ambiance Shônen qui s’apprécie franchement.
