Se non avete giocato il primo episodio, e allo stesso tempo siete disposti ad abbonarvi a Nintendo Switch Online, Super Mario Maker 2 è un gioco che vi consigliamo di acquistare. L'editor è bello, intuitivo, estremamente ricco di opzioni, e anche l'online è strutturato alla grande, con la possibilità di associare categorie agli stage, e anche di avere un profilo personalizzato ben escogitato: in parole povere, Nintendo ha sfruttato al massimo le indicazioni ricevute dal capitolo per Wii U. Se invece avete già giocato il primo Super Mario Maker, non amate particolarmente ideare contenuti, e preferite semplicemente giocare, fateci un pensiero: ci sono tante novità, ma forse non abbastanza. La skin di 3D World è deludente, e soprattutto mal integrata alle altre. Se invece non siete inclini ad abbonarvi a Nintendo Switch Online, che abbiate giocato il primo o no, Super Mario Maker 2 non fa per voi: la modalità Storia è realizzata bene, ma non abbastanza da giustificare l'acquisto dell'opera, né da rivaleggiare con l'avventura di un qualsiasi Super Mario Bros. tradizionale.

There’s a bit of a love/hate relationship in play when reviewing a game like Super Neptunia RPG. Maybe a case of Stockholm Syndrome has crept in, but the time in this 2D world feels mostly well spent. It makes numerous glaring mistakes throughout the game and yet it still manages to charm. The series is such that it seems likely another attempt at this flavor will be tried again and this would be highly welcomed. Seeing them get up from this faceplant, dust off and take another swing should result in a much better title. In the meantime, fans of Neptune and Friends will likely have a great time here. Those who already hate it should run away. For those who aren’t sure? Well, despite its warts, it’s a decent introduction to the series, and a great way to see which side of the line they will fall on.

Death's Gambit è uno di quei platform-RPG bidimensionali che non fa sconti a nessuno e anzi bastona alzando costantemente il picco di difficoltà. E lo fa attraverso un'esperienza vecchia scuola contraddistinta dalla necessità di dover imparare i percorsi, i pattern dei nemici e la loro distribuzione nei livelli, per approcciare ogni scontro con una certa attenzione, imparando dai propri errori per progredire. Il tutto all'interno di un mondo di gioco stilisticamente azzeccato, dal tratto evocativo e dalle musiche ben orchestrate, dove spiccano gli imponenti boss di fine area. Tutto perfetto, quindi? Non proprio: il titolo manca di originalità e presta ancora il fianco a qualche imperfezione tecnica, come nel caso del sistema di rilevamento dei colpi che a volte non funziona adeguatamente. Ma a conti fatti resta un bel gioco adatto a tutti coloro che amano i souls-like e sono alla ricerca di pane per i loro denti.

While it's crammed full of fan-service alongside good core combat and exploration, Ritual of the Night's technical instability and some discomforting design decisions keep it from rivaling its influences. It was clearly made for the fans, so those without an already-established fondness may find it hard to enjoy.
