God Eater 3 pourrait être encore bien meilleur avec plus de temps et d’ambition mais en l’état, le jeu de Bandai Namco et Marvelous a tout de même de quoi séduire. Avec ses combats frénétiques ainsi que ses musiques qui font bouillir le sang, il s’impose comme un jeu d’action appréciable pour les amateurs du genre mais non sans reproches. Si vous aimez chasser de la bête démoniaque et que vous n’avez rien contre un titre où l’aspect anime/manga prédomine, cela ne pourra que vous plaire mais attention, le jeu ne peut satisfaire tout le monde, notamment après le passage de Monster Hunter: World qui a chamboulé le genre.

Conarium is certainly one for the fans of H.P. Lovecraft, despite the fact that it’s less of a traditional horror, and more of a puzzler with elements of suspense present. That said, the game does a wonderful job at presenting a dark and eerie story that follows in the footsteps of its source material, complete with a great setting and several nods to its inspirations. Unfortunately, however, its slow pace and its short length holds it back quite a bit.

Apex Legends è probabilmente il miglior battle royale attualmente sulla piazza, uno sparatutto immediato e godibile ma dotato anche di un certo spessore strategico, che si ritrova nelle caratteristiche e nelle abilità dei personaggi (ottimi) ma anche in una dotazione completa per quanto concerne l'equipaggiamento sparso all'interno della mappa. Lo scenario ha i suoi alti e bassi, appare valido nella composizione ma inevitabilmente già visto negli asset, fornendo in ogni caso un enorme, affascinante campo di battaglia per partite da sessanta giocatori sempre parecchio spinte, coinvolgenti e divertenti. Se questo è solo il debutto per il titolo di Respawn Entertainment, siamo davvero curiosi di vedere fin dove Apex Legends riuscirà a spingersi nei prossimi mesi.

Auf dem Papier klingt Riot: Civil Unrest hoch aktuell und spannend: Man darf sowohl auf Seiten von Aktivisten als auch auf Seiten der Polizei auf realen Geschehnissen basierende Demonstrationen nachspielen. Man hat die Wahl, ob und wie viel Gewalt man einsetzt, wie man auf Provokationen reagiert und wie man versucht, der Gegenseite den Zahn zu ziehen, ohne in der Öffentlichkeit sein Gesicht zu verlieren. In der Praxis jedoch hält sich der Spaß in Grenzen. Das idealistische Vorhaben, dem Spieler einen ungefilterten Blick auf Konfliktdynamik, Aktion und Reaktion sowie Gewalt und Gegengewalt in diesen Situationen zu geben, ist löblich. Doch das Spiel dahinter ist zu oberflächlich und die zur Verfügung stehenden Aktionen sind überschaubar. Dazu gesellen sich KI-Probleme, die sich nicht nur in der maroden Wegfindung äußern. Nicht zu vergessen die sehr gewöhnungsbedürftige Steuerung auf Konsolen, die das einfache Prinzip unnötig komplex macht. Auch im Hinblick auf die Steam-Workshop-Anwendung und die damit verbundene Nachschub-Option an Szenarien sind PS4 und One unterlegen. Doch selbst wenn die PC-Fassung deutliche Vorteile hat, macht sie das noch lange nicht zu einem packenden Strategiespiel mit sozialkritischem Hintergrund. Dazu fehlen schlichtweg Substanz sowie Tiefgang – die Idee alleine trägt das Konzept nicht.

The King’s Bird is an utterly challenging platformer that’s perhaps, oftentimes, more frustrating than it needs to be. Further hindrance is found in its slightly unresponsive handling, together with its wildly fluctuating difficulty curve. That being said, if you can muster the perseverance and precision to see it through, you’ll find a pleasant, warm, and somewhat endearing adventure buried underneath its convolution.
