Astroneer is a nice and relaxing survival game that does away with some the typical mechanics of the genre to offer an experience that's mostly based on exploration and crafting. The basic gameplay loop is very engaging at the beginning and manages to carry the game quite far, but the complicated controls, especially on pad, and the repetition, which will eventually set in after a while, damage the experience a little. Still, Astroneer is a very solid game that no fan of the genre should pass on, especially if they love outer space settings.

It would be all too easy to compare this to the Souls series, but in truth, Salt and Sanctuary deserves a spotlight entirely of its own. It’s a dark and twisted journey that constantly relays a remarkable amount of depth, variety, innovation, and detail. Its greatest achievement, however, is not that of its outstanding structure, but its ability to frequently entice its players, despite how often it screws them over. This, is a punishing must have.

Quando a una soggetto interessante si unisce una realizzazione tecnica particolarmente ispirata, i risultati non possono che essere notevoli e Unruly Heroes trasuda cura e passione per un genere, quello del platform 2D, che ha effettivamente bisogno di nuove proposte di un certo livello, come questa. Bella da vedere e piacevole da giocare, questa reinterpretazione del viaggio in occidente cattura facilmente e non molla fino alla sua conclusione, nonostante qualche problema di minore entità sul ritmo e il sistema di controllo. Veramente un gioco che merita grande attenzione, così come il suo team di sviluppo al debutto.

PC Building Simulator è un titolo che piacerà alla follia a chi ama assemblare PC, per lavoro o per hobby, e a chi vuole apprendere qualcosa in più sulla materia. Tutti gli altri possono guardare oltre perché non c'è veramente niente che possa interessarli. Certo, il gioco ha un'interfaccia pratica e funzionale, anche se dà per scontate alcune conoscenze che possono bloccare i neofiti, e a suo modo è anche un prodotto pedagogicamente ruscito, ma è davvero vincolatissimo e limitato nella sua settorialità. Insomma, non dovrebbe essere difficile capire se il gioco faccia o no per voi... già dal titolo, in effetti.

Steins;Gate Elite is a fantastic version of 5pb.'s beloved visual novel. Not only do the animated sequences help bring its story to life while players read, but the phone trigger gameplay system has been intelligently streamlined as well.

Respawn has successfully entered the battle royale genre with Apex Legends, allowing itself to take notes from its predecessors and come in and build upon the foundation laid before them. By refining the formula rather than making a significant effort to reinvent the battle royale wheel, this studio has proven themselves as unmistakable masters of their craft with both the Titanfall series and now Apex. While there are still steps that can be taken to help shape it into something even better, Respawn has ultimately begun birthing a (wait for it)… TITAN of a competitor to the other titles in this genre and I can’t wait to see how it grows in the months and hopefully, years to come.

God Eater 3 porta avanti in modo interessante la serie targata Bandai Namco, nonché uno degli action RPG dalla lore più interessanti degli ultimi anni; il confronto con il rivale Monster Hunter è ingiusto e solo parzialmente giustificato dalla presenza di mostri giganteschi da affrontare. Purtroppo dal punto di vista delle meccaniche del gameplay e del comparto grafico/tecnico God Eater 3 non rappresenta una vera innovazione rispetto al titolo precedente: probabilmente bisognerà aspettare la prossima generazione per assistere al “salto”, con quello che non escludiamo Bandai Namco possa presentare come capitolo finale dell’arco narrativo attuale del franchise, oppure direttamente come reboot.
