The Lion’s Song is a beautiful narrative-focused game if you get passed the sluggish cursor and the slow character movement. Each episode contains its own beautiful story which are woven together to form a satisfying conclusion. Any fans of the art scene in the early 20th century or anyone hungry for a good narrative should definitely board the train on this one.

Après des débuts prometteurs, appuyés par une direction artistique bien trouvée et un gameplay dynamique, Fallen Legion : Rise to Glory tombe vite dans des travers pas vraiment glorieux. Les combats se révèlent vite être rébarbatifs, au point de se demander la raison de choisir les pions en début de combat sauf pour l'esthétique. Les choix en combat pour une faction ou une sanction se montrent tout aussi anecdotiques, hormis les bonus fournis. L'importance de ces choix, qui prend vie par une barre de moral, ne trouve d'intérêt que dans quelques textes pendant les temps de chargement. Vous vous retrouvez alors rapidement avec le sentiment d'être face à un jeu mobile gonflé en durée et en choix afin d'en faire un jeu console. Pourtant, les idées étaient belles !

Although Shining Resonance Refrain is enjoyable and the battle system provides some fun, its story and presentation don't break any new ground. At the end of the day, it's just another JRPG in a sea of similar games.

Shining Resonance Refrain doesn’t do too much to get away from JRPG tropes, but that might be part of its charm as some of its themes have been addressed in several JRPGs prior but that should come as no surprise to fans of the genre. While tropey, the different personalities of the party members and NPCs do help Astoria come to life and watching Yuma build his relationship with them how the player sees fit puts some emphasis back into the role playing aspect. The fast-paced combat is enjoyable and there is a good blend between the time spent in story development and actual game play, though tending to every citizen’s quest can become tedious. Having the protagonist turn into a dragon isn’t unheard of, but still a rather uncommon idea, and having music play such a significant rule in the story is pleasing to this writer’s ears. Overall the world of Shining Resonance Refrain is a joy to explore and the option to go through it a second time with villains on your side adds a good reason to play through again

Inside conferma le proprie eccellenti qualità anche su Nintendo Switch, con un porting tecnicamente ineccepibile, che può vantare un extra di indubbio valore come la portabilità. L'esperienza messa a punto da Playdead si rivela fin dalle prime battute un esercizio di game design, un titolo che gioca forte sulle atmosfere e ci proietta in un mondo ostile, oscuro e minaccioso, alla ricerca di una scomoda verità. Le varie fasi della campagna vengono scandite dall'introduzione di nuovi, affascinanti meccanismi e da puzzle sempre più sfaccettati, nell'ottica di un viaggio breve ma intenso, che difficilmente dimenticherete.
