Shining Resonance Refrain is an entertaining adventure through a somewhat cliche story, but it contains its own unique aspects that keep you engaged. Combat is easy to learn, but there's a decent amount of depth to it. Dragonshift and B.A.N.D. sessions are wonderful combat mechanics that add more charm to the game. The relationship building and dating also adds a cute slice of life portion to the adventure.

Warhammer 40,000 Gladius - Relics of War è un buon 4X incentrato sul lato militare che merita di poter crescere. Non è una produzione immensa, ma è uno di quei titoli capaci di occupare molte ore grazie alla sua profondità e nonostante qualche problema. Insomma, se siete appassionati del mondo di Warhammer e non vi spaventano i turni (in verità se siete dei veri appassionati di Warhammer il problema non dovreste nemmeno porvelo), questo è il gioco che fa per voi.

Come primo 4X sull’universo di Warhammer 40.000 Gladius - Relics of War avrebbe potuto ambire a traguardi un po' più elevati. Non c’è molto da recriminare sull’aspetto spartano, sulla grafica semplice o sull’essenzialità dei menu di gioco: si vede che la produzione targata Slitherine sia estremamente pragmatica, poco interessata a quelli che considera banali orpelli di contorno. Soprattutto se si nota la cura destinata alle battaglie a turni, che si piegano alla pura matematica e ad una sorprendente attenzione per il dettaglio. Ciononostante avremmo gradito un po’ di profondità in più nella rifinizione di alcuni elementi legati alle campagne, che intaccano il fluido movimento di una macchina ben oliata. È ingiusto, in ogni caso, penalizzare troppo Relics of War per questi errori, dopotutto l’opera di Proxy Games imbastisce una dimensione bellica non solo affinata e precisa, ma anche parecchio diversificata da fazione a fazione. E questo potrebbe essere un buon motivo di interesse per i generali virtuali con la passione per Warhammer 40.000.

Although Shining Resonance Refrain is enjoyable and the battle system provides some fun, its story and presentation don't break any new ground. At the end of the day, it's just another JRPG in a sea of similar games.

Shining Resonance Refrain doesn’t do too much to get away from JRPG tropes, but that might be part of its charm as some of its themes have been addressed in several JRPGs prior but that should come as no surprise to fans of the genre. While tropey, the different personalities of the party members and NPCs do help Astoria come to life and watching Yuma build his relationship with them how the player sees fit puts some emphasis back into the role playing aspect. The fast-paced combat is enjoyable and there is a good blend between the time spent in story development and actual game play, though tending to every citizen’s quest can become tedious. Having the protagonist turn into a dragon isn’t unheard of, but still a rather uncommon idea, and having music play such a significant rule in the story is pleasing to this writer’s ears. Overall the world of Shining Resonance Refrain is a joy to explore and the option to go through it a second time with villains on your side adds a good reason to play through again

Questa quarta versione del gioco - se contiamo anche l’edizione Steam - va incontro a quella nutrita fetta di giocatori che un anno fa chiedeva a gran voce la possibilità di vivere Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana in portabilità senza tagli e rinunce. Nell'eventualità in cui rientriate in questa categoria, il porting saprà senza dubbio soddisfare i vostri palati e stregarvi con un prodotto coinvolgente e longevo. Chiunque sia invece in possesso della versione PS4 o sia in procinto di acquistarne una copia, potrebbe invece non trovare nei costumi extra un legittimo pretesto per comprare (o comunque preferire) il titolo sull’ibrida della Grande N.

Despite a few technical blemishes, Mushroom Wars 2 is enjoyable effort, especially if you’re yearning for real-time strategy on your Switch.
