Bionic Bay est une pépite comme on en voit rarement. Un jeu captivant, qui nous tient en haleine et sur le qui-vive du début à la fin. On avance, on réfléchit, on progresse encore, et on doit se creuser la tête toujours davantage face à de nouveaux obstacles. Le jeu regorge d’excellentes idées qui apportent une belle diversité à l’ensemble. Certes, on en aurait volontiers pris plus — mais qui sait, peut-être que du contenu supplémentaire viendra enrichir l’expérience dans le futur ? Bref, rien à redire : pour les amateurs de jeux de plateforme, c’est tout simplement un incontournable.

DOOM The Dark Ages est un retour aux sources avec le retour de l’exploration et des cartes à trouver pour débloquer tous les secrets. Bien entendu, ceux qui veulent foncer droit devant peuvent également le faire. Les néophytes du genre, ou ceux qui veulent juste profiter de taper sur des démons sans avoir de grandes résistances trouveront sans aucun doute leur bonheur avec une difficulté modulable tant que vous êtes en facile. Bien évidemment, ceux qui aiment le chalenge trouveront également leur compte dans les modes les plus hardcores. L’insertion du bouclier a vraiment été pensé en profondeur et est multifonction. Un véritable couteau suisse. Vous pouvez vous protéger des attaques, mais également renvoyer des projectiles, charger avec celui-ci pour éclater vos ennemis, ou encore le lancer pour découper vos ennemis ou les étourdir. L’une des grandes nouveautés est également la possibilité de vous mettre aux commandes d’un Dragon ou d’un Atlan. Cela rajoute vraiment une nouvelle dimension au gameplay, permettant de diversifier des habitudes déjà bien ancré pour les habitués de la saga. En somme cet opus reprend les codes des années 90 avec le retour de l’exploration tout en modernisant son jeu pourtant déjà bien huilé.

Las matanzas del Slayer son tan inmersivas como siempre, pero la sombra de entregas pasadas nubla parcialmente el resultado final, que no alcanza el estatus de memorable.

Doom: The Dark Ages segna una svolta audace per la saga, abbandonando la frenesia di Doom Eternal in favore di un'azione più pesante e brutale. Non tutto funziona alla perfezione (trama blanda, un po’ di ripetitività nel finale, niente multiplayer, colonna sonora deludente) e i diversivi in stile Panzer Dragoon e Rampage sono poco sfruttati, ma la nuova identità del Doom Slayer, il design aperto dei livelli, la centralità dell’esplorazione e il flusso dei combattimenti regaleranno momenti di puro godimento agli amanti della serie.

DOOM: The Dark Ages è un gioco che, pur restando solido e affascinante, non riesce a replicare la potenza innovativa del suo predecessore. È un capitolo che cerca di dare una nuova rilettura alla saga, ma lo fa in modo troppo conservativo, senza riuscire a mantenere quel senso di freschezza che aveva caratterizzato la brillante direzione intrapresa da DOOM Eternal. Se da un lato la lentezza ponderata degli scontri e la complessità delle ambientazioni hanno un loro fascino, dall’altro la mancanza di quella spinta dinamica lascia un retrogusto amaro. Per i fan più affezionati, è comunque un’esperienza meritevole di essere vissuta, ma che non rappresenta l’apice della saga.

Not every change pays off, as the introduction of a mech and dragon adds very little to the overall experience. However, when The Dark Ages gets to the FPS action, there aren’t many who do it better than id Software. Take some time to adjust to DOOM: The Dark Ages, and you’ll discover another fantastically ferocious first-person shooter.

Un viaje de 100 años que culmina en la exploración de todo un sistema solar abandonado de la mano de una gran corporación. Su propuesta metroidvania en 3D incluye plataformas, combate, exploración y una gran cantidad de puzles y coleccionables que nos ayudarán a conseguir el final deseado... o sucumbir en el intento. Todo ello envuelto en un humor gamberro e irreverente que a veces se pasa de rosca en su intención de criticar el mundo en el que vivimos y en el que podríamos llegar a vivir.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about The Midnight Walk since I saw its endings. It’s something I know I’ll come back to so that I can wander this dark world again. Not because I’m looking to complete a checklist, but because everything I’ve learned has recontextualized the emotional stories I saw and changed what I believed about the world. I want to hear the mournful, haunting music again, and spend more time by the fire with these characters. I want to travel with Potboy, my charge, my companion, my friend who says so much without ever speaking a word. The Midnight Walk is not long — I would put my playthrough at around seven or eight hours, and I took my time — but it is gorgeous and touching, and it took hold of me early and never let me go until I took the last step on my journey. It isn’t mechanically ambitious other than to play with perception in unexpected ways, and it challenged me to go into the dark unafraid, and find truth, and companionship, and I did. Out of darkness, light. One cannot exist without the other, and neither offers every answer. I lit a match, and found my way, and I was not alone.

The Midnight Walk The Midnight Walk non è un videogioco tradizionale: è un viaggio sensoriale (della durata di circa 4 ore), un racconto illustrato animato con pazienza, amore e una visione artistica rara. È un titolo che punta al cuore e alla mente narrando una storia di redenzione, di come una scintilla ardente possa riaccendere vecchie passioni o guarire un cuore spezzato. Consigliato vivamente agli amanti delle esperienze narrative, ai fan di giochi come INSIDE, Little Misfortune o What Remains of Edith Finch, e a chi apprezza l’arte fatta a mano in stop-motion e claymation (una vera delizia per gli occhi). PRO Direzione artistica straordinaria: l’uso della stop-motion è un colpo d’occhio unico nel panorama videoludico | narrazione profonda e simbolica che tocca le corde emotive del giocatore | atmosfera sonora immersiva | design dei personaggi affascinante | ritmo compassato perfetto per chi cerca un’esperienza intima e riflessiva | sequenze stealth terrificanti che utilizzano la meccanica della fiamma in modi intelligenti CONTRO Durata contenuta che potrebbero lasciare qualcuno con la sensazione di "volerne ancora" | puzzle poco vari con meccaniche che non si evolvono molto nel corso del gioco | al momento non è disponibile una localizzazione italiana e il linguaggio poetico può risultare difficile per chi non è fluente in inglese
