Fatal Fury : City of the Wolves est loin d’être un mauvais jeu. Son gameplay, accessible mais technique, est efficace, même si la nostalgie joue clairement en sa faveur. Mais c’est aussi un titre qui semble un peu trop réservé à un public de connaisseurs, voire de fans de la première heure. Avec un roster plus fourni, une direction artistique modernisée, et une ambition plus assumée, il aurait pu prétendre à davantage. En l’état, il coche toutes les cases en répondant aux attentes modernes d'un jeu de combat sans jamais suffisamment personnaliser ses modes pour leur donner une identité propre. Il reste donc un bon jeu de combat mais également un opus qui pourra combler, à court ou moyen terme, les fans absolus de la licence. Mais il aura probablement bien du mal, à l'heure actuelle tout du moins, à rivaliser avec les poids lourds du genre en 2025 pour un public plus large.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves won’t blow you away like Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8, but as a more rudimentary fighter, it’s got guile. Its layered fighting system and vibrant, well-animated characters make for an entertaining overall package that’s been 26 years in the making.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves signe un retour à la fois audacieux — de la part de SNK qui relance une série laissée en sommeil depuis 26 ans — et frustrant d’une licence mythique. Si l’ambition est palpable, entre un nouveau système REV prometteur, un casting bien équilibré et une direction artistique marquée, l’exécution laisse un goût d’inachevé. Rigidité du gameplay, décisions de design discutables, contenu solo anémique et technique perfectible ternissent une formule qui méritait mieux pour marquer les esprits. Un bon geste toutefois : le premier Season Pass est offert pour toute précommande jusqu’au 23 avril, un petit coup de pouce bienvenu pour accompagner les débuts du jeu. Il nous tarde désormais de voir la réponse de la communauté et, surtout, si SNK saura entretenir l’intérêt sur la durée, un défi de taille, tant ses jeux peinent souvent à rester vivants hors d’Asie et d’Amérique Latine.

When it comes to all the most important parts of a fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is up there with the best of the genre. Its fighting system is a wonderful update to the classic SNK style of one-on-one combat that feels similar to Street Fighter 6, but just different enough to exist as an alternative to it; the roster of 17 is varied and interesting, even with the strange addition of two real life guest characters; and its netcode, while not on the same level as games like Street Fighter 6 and Guilty Gear Strive, is at least relatively close to it. Many things around that rock solid center are a bit behind the times, from the bare minimum teaching tools to an ugly menu UI that can be frustrating to engage with. But while that means Fatal Fury has some cobwebs to shake off from its 25-year hibernation, the end result is still an excellent return to the fighting game scene.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves è ancora una volta una cristallina dimostrazione dello stato attuale di SNK. Il team giapponese ha chiaramente ancora dei designer di altissimo livello, in grado di creare picchiaduro dal gameplay sopraffino con ben poco da invidiare ai diretti concorrenti. Al contempo si tratta però di una squadra con delle chiare limitazioni, che non è ancora in grado di raggiungere lo stesso picco dal punto di vista tecnico e contenutistico. Certo, pur con i suoi difetti, il ritorno di Garou resta un grandissimo picchiaduro, e il suo arrivo fa specialmente rumore ora che il genere sembra avere una crisi d'identità. Semplicemente non crediamo che la carica innovativa e la qualità generale siano tali da poter rappresentare oggi ciò che il predecessore fu al tempo. Se siete in crisi d'astinenza da botte virtuali e volete un sistema di combattimento di gran qualità, comunque, ve lo consigliamo senza remore.

With a balanced roster, refined combat depth, and full cross-play, it stands tall among modern fighters, though occasional presentation inconsistencies and a shallow RPG mode hold it back from perfection.

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves segna il folgorante ritorno del leggendario picchiaduro SNK tra i grandi del genere. Se i valori produttivi risultano evidenti già dalla presentazione estetica del titolo, la profondità del sistema di combattimento ed il cast esuberante sono esattamente i motivi per cui tutti i fan dei picchiaduro lo ameranno con vigore. Tuttavia, ci troviamo di fronte ad un prodotto a tratti contraddittorio: i menù sono datati e farraginosi, le modalità presenti potevano essere più curate, l'online non è sempre stabile ed il tutorial è eccessivamente scarno. Proprio quest'ultimo aspetto ci deve far sottolineare il più grande limite del titolo: la sua elevata complessità, frutto di un autentico mare di meccaniche. Con pazienza e dedizione, il nuovo viaggio nella città dei lupi assume i connotati di un'esperienza galvanizzante se non addirittura mistica. Ma il prezzo da pagare potrebbe non essere per tutti. Quizá no sea el juego más innovador o espectacular del panorama actual, pero sin duda tiene claro lo que quiere presentar y lo hace con solidez. Si buscar peleas de siempre con un ligero toque moderno, aquí puedes decir "okey" como Terry Bogard.

En résumé, MachineGames et Bethesda ont fait un excellent travail pour cette version PS5. Non pas que les différences avec la version Xbox Series X sautent aux yeux, si l’on excepte l’illumination globale, un poil plus poussé du coté de Sony. Mais l’apport de la Dualsense qui ajoute à l’immersion et celui de la PS5 Pro, avec sa 4k native et son RT évolué en font certainement la version la plus aboutie.

Développé par seulement deux personnes (+ un directeur artistique), Bionic Bay force le respect, surtout pour une première production. Derrière son aspect rétro-minimaliste, se cache un gameplay résolument moderne, porté par une physique qui renouvelle vraiment l'expérience. Fun, fluide, intuitif et exigeant dès les premières minutes, c'est typiquement le genre de jeu qui vous fera enchaîner les niveaux sans même vous en rendre compte. Allez... encore un dernier.

This is a game that hands you a hammer in the first thirty seconds, then introduces new and exciting nails for the next ten hours. A simple analogy, sure, but it works as beautifully as the game itself. Bionic Bay is one of those rare experiences that has such confidence in itself that it doesn’t need to muddy the water with bloat and uncertainty – it is precisely what it is, and what it is is excellent. Take a mystifying workplace accident, a rock solid visual identity and a hefty industrial soundscape, throw them together and serve on a bed of platforming mechanics that just refuses to quit.

L'aggettivo che meglio di qualsiasi altro potrebbe descrivere Blue Prince è “immenso”. Un puzzle game procedurale, di natura roguelite, reinventato a partire dalle meccaniche dei giochi da tavolo e trasformato in videogame dal fattore esplorativo entusiasmante, il quale invita a prendere carta e penna per avere sempre a disposizione gli indizi necessari a risolvere gli enigmi. Le sfide poste sulla scacchiera della magione di Mt. Holly si svelano con naturalezza lasciando ammirare non solo l'estrema varietà ed eleganza dei rompicapi, molti dei quali connessi direttamente alla stessa struttura di gioco, ma anche una quantità incredibile, a tratti inquietante, proprio come una narrazione corposa che non teme di trascendere i limiti della realtà.
